  1. Doesn't look like this thread is getting much Dixie support, so I will throw my 2 cents in. Yea Tibbs is a top 3 center in the 9th region and should have a great senior year. My question is, I love the blonde sophomore point guard, I feel she is one of the best in the 9th region, I watched her play against Holly Cross in the regionals. I thought she outplayed Mcleandon. But I thought the 2 guard was a senior? So who is this secret weapon at the 2 guard?
  2. Update us when the scrimmages are scheduled. I would like to check some of them out.
  3. As far as Scott, I watched them play at the Thomas More camp. Most of the big teams were there and I think they went 5 and 1. I watched a lot of teams play that week and could be off a game. So I think Scott will be ok.
  4. I've seen her play a lot, she is good but I didn't think she was the best player on Scott's team last year.
  5. Niece is a nice player, but with her size she would be better at the two or three.
  6. Looks like things are starting to heat up. Haven't had a chance to read the threads in awhile. So here it goes. I like the bluebirds in the ninth, but I think H.C., Holmes, N.D., and a couple sleepers like Dixie and Conner. Sorry RCC9 to use this thread for my next opinion, but as a NCC supporter I wish all this transferring would stop. I know things happen in families but I wish the girls could start and finish together. Sorry.
  7. Hey RCC9 I agree with you. High school is about playing with friends, most of the time in high school the top scorers are on teams that depend on one girl.so they have the green light to sboot at will and rack up points against weak teams. So I give kudos to the girls that play in the 9th. I do agree that aau exposure events are where the recruiters are. But some good teams are. concept based and individually aren't as talented as some teams that don't do as well. The legacy 8th grade team is one.
  8. Hey HDE, I saw her last year with the Legacy team and she is agood player. There was another Brock girl on that team that was just as good if not more athletic. Are they related?
  9. Kudos for moving to the new thread. The problem with aau basketball is teams claim to be something but the make up is usually older kids. Thanks
  10. I wouldn't count out NCC. Everyone is in love with Holy Cross, but but I watched a freshman point guard from Dixie almost take them to the matt in the regionals. NCC will still have a say in the region. Does anyone know if the girl from Dixie is stiil there. She really impressed that night.
  11. Hey guys, I don't have a kid on either team. It seems like this post is one that isn't going to die anytime soon. As a parent that has had kids play aau sports it's hard to compare any aau teams at any level due to the fact that a lot of the good teams have older kids on them. With aau age requirments there could be 15 or 16 year olds on these teams. Teams with 13 on 14 year olds would have a hard time matching that maturity. Sports today is almost like kids picking coleges with the moving of kids from one school to another. So god bless both teams and remember it's only a game, that is meant for the kids to have fun.
  12. I know both parents and girls. They will stay together whatever the outcome. Have you heard that a Dixie freshman might be heading there also. Dixie lost an eight grader to SK last year and I have heard another one is considering.
  13. Sorry I meant no harm. It's just the schools that usually win the all A classic aren't single A schools and they can compete at the higher level and have a shot at their districts and region. The true A schools mostly only have this tourney to look foward to since basketball isn't ran by class like football. I would hope attendance isn't driving this tourney.
  14. Ok, I can't believe I got sucked into this one. I will make it short. As I guy who went to a small school and graduated kids from a large school the notion of an all A tourney is bogus. The only schools that should be invited to and all A tourney is all A schools. This should be for the little guy, Dayton, Ludlow, ect.......
  15. I agree on the zone, I've only seen one guard stay with her without fouling out. But I would go with a box and one. That is if you have the right girl. Straight up zone allows her to pick on the weak side of the zone where your best player probally isn't.
  16. Hi guys, not a 10th region guy but I do know both girls and fathers. One did transfer to Scott (actually they don't attend Scott rather Woodland Middle School) to play with the other. As far as another transfer, I do know they want a Kentucky title, but don't know if they are willing to transfer to get it. I would suspect if one goes so does the other.
  17. Yep RCC9. A lot of young talent out there, I have seen all of them play except the Dixie kid until last night. I think she is on another level in speed and change of direction.
  18. I was there to see NCC play and was really impressed with Dixies #15. She gave Mclendon all she could handle. Someone said she is only a freshman.
  19. Hey 7th region. What can we expect from the refs. I hear that they are doing the 9th region tournament.
  20. Don't know what this might mean, but NKU just cancelled everything for today. University wise.
  21. Don't look past the difference in floor size at Bank Arena. It will make it difficult to press. Maybe the best half court teams might have an edge.
  22. But I will say this. I watched two Dixie games in the last two weeks. One against Holy Cross and one against Boone. They have a new point guard, don't know who she is her number is 15. She ripped through both of these school presses so maybe they will wear the glass slipper.
  23. Look. I have no connection to any of these schools. I have seen all of the teams play. Highlands is young, they control their future. But for this year I feel Boone is healthy now and definitely isn't a Cinderella team.
