Mercer is 2-0 hosting Shelby County coming in 1-1. Mercer’s win vs Taylor looking better after week 2. Don’t know much about Shelby and would be interested to hear from people that have seen them play this year.

I know KHSAA has it as two picks but Mercer picked TC 3 times with 3 separate players. TC also lost a fumble. 4 turnovers are hard to overcome. At same time they ran a kickoff back against mercer so their offence only scored twice.

I don't know much about Dunbar. Based off KHSAA roster looks like Dunbar about double the amount of kids on their roster which could come in to play on the hottest day of the year. I am surprised they are letting them kick off at 7:30.

Mercer started out the season with a 38-22 win over Taylor County. Dunbar lost 45-21 to Connor. This is the first game of the Vallozzi Bowl at Woodford County with game time at 7:31. Dunbar looked to have success putting the ball in the air to WR Berry. Mercer was very balanced on offence with several guys making plays.

Don’t give Mercer any credit.

Taylor has a good team with some very good players. Mercer has not looked great in their two scrimmages. It is Craig Yeast's 2nd year and they return most of their production from last year. Mercer will need to fix some things and look better than they have in their scrimmages. From what I have heard Taylor has looked good in their two scrimmages.

Taylor County Travels to Mercer County for the 2nd game of their bowl. Bullitt East plays Woodford in the 1st game. Taylor County brings a UK and EKU commit along with William Harris current DC at Taylor and former assistant at Mercer.

I would love nothing more than to see Kasey go in there and dominate this district. Garrard has not played in the region tournament since 2005 when they were in the 46tn district which means they are 0-18 in the 45th district for even making it to the district championship/region tourney. With that said I would think it’s fair to say they have had a rough time in a very tough district.

Kasey is a good coach and really well liked by everyone at Mercer. He would do a good job there but ultimately a tough district for Garrard to have post season success.

I think being relevant for Mercer would be winning district and a game or two in the region tourney. May not be the favorite to win region but should be a contender for it. Should win in the 20 game range without playing multiple home schools. Don't have to do that every year but can't go 4 years without doing it at all. No reason for Mercer to be in the bottom half maybe bottom 1/3 of the region which is what they have been lately.

They weren’t really relevant that year either. Didn’t win district and lost 1st round of region same as what they have done last two years. Have not won district or a region tourney game since Faulkner was there 2018.

You saying Brown at WR or both Brown and Bodner in the backfield at the same time?

What position? RB? If so is Bodner sitting? If not I guess he would be starting at WR with Quisenberry. Good problem to have for any team.

I’m sure they will look different. Who will be there QB? They got RB’s and WR’s for days. I know they tried a few different guys back there. Wanting to throw more and having a QB to do it are two different things.

Correct on Somerset QB but he played in a state championship. He was a pocket QB playing in a good offensive system that showed his strengths. Again Kash Daniel was not playing a skill position. Brown plays on a High School team that can not pass the ball at all. They know they are running 98% of the time. If he plays at Boyle Haddix is an offensive genius and he has the compliment of a passing game and another D1 receiver so teams can't 100% focus on him. Quisenberry was on a bad team, running a bad offense and he was playing out of position. That makes it a lot harder to get a power 5 offer as an undersized skill player.

Agree that nobody in the area or really the state has had as much success as boyle. Buchanon’s last few years had Mercer winning a lot of games and having more success than a lot of the teams in Ky but not on an elite level. Since you brought up mercer and resources I would put there’s up against anybody’s. Boyle doesn’t have anything like this. There are a lot of NAIA/FCS that don’t have what Mercer has. It has not translated to getting players in yet or state championship level success though.

Agree somewhat but disagree also. Lineman with certain size and agility don't need to be at a certain school. Does Quisenberry get Power 5 offers last running the option as a QB at Garrard? I don't think so. He might still get FCS offers though.

At Boyle their girls softball and soccer are always tops in the 12th region with a lot of their better players transferring in. Why can't they get players for girls basketball? When Quisenberry transferred to Boyle from Garrard his sister went to Danville instead of Boyle (still not sure how that is possible). Boyle has not been competitive with girls basketball for a while now.

Adams is a good coach and a great guy. He won region in 2015 and made it to the final 4. He was 190-155 at Boyle. Concerns would be the way things ended at Boyle going 9-17 in last season and rumors of inter turmoil. He had losing seasons 4 of the 12 years at Boyle and several seasons just a few games over .500. I think some others would have to say no before they get to Adams.

Wow if that is legit then he is for sure the number one choice. I think Cook is one of the best coaches in the state and he was beloved during his time at Mercer. I can't see him leaving GRC but he would be welcomed back for sure.

I have heard he wants to continue to try to move up in the college ranks which I don't blame him for that. He as good potential as a college coach. Just a matter of if he wants to stay in this area and coach high school or plan to move all over to chase the college coaching dream.
