Is the "it" in your post a state title? Dale would have given his team a better chance to advance farther into the playoffs. CCH was the best team in 5A this year. The best team doesn't always win, it's the team that plays better that wins.( Yea CCH wins it.) It's really hard to compare other head coaches to Dale. You know what I mean?

I may have a short memory but I can't recall anydifference makers transferring from HHS to NCC until last year. Hard to win a state title or go deep into the playoffs with some of the biggest and most talented players leaving to play for NCC. You bring up Dale in your post. Somebody I know heard an interview with Mike Mitchell. ( I know a lot of people dislike Mike), but Mike said that Dale was the best coach that he had in his entire life. This is a guy that has played starting safety for three different NFL teams. You bring up Beau Hoge. I've heard names that will going through the ranks trying to be the starting QB at HHS. I hope they find another Beau because he was THE difference maker in that state championship title. How does HHS lose three games while having a double digit lead halfway through the 4th QTR? It seems to me it could only be coaching or conditioning and the head coach is responsible for both. If your waiting for the current frosh players to make a difference, it will be 2 or 3 years down the road after the 3 years we just went through. I sure hope they improve before then.

Took CCH a long time to get back on top where they are now. How many head coaches went through CCH before they found Eddie? How many previous HC's couldn't get it done and how many years were they there? HHS will be back in a very short time. The future looks bright for the Birds. I just don't think BW is that good at judging talent or play calling. New QB for the 1st two playoff games. How many other positions where the best player for that position was watching from the side lines? JMO.

The only thing I'm going to say is the Birds had the talent on the field to win this game, wasn't that obvious? HHS scored more points than any other team the Dragons played.

Nope. Considering this was only the 2nd game starting as a varsity QB. If you can't get two yards running the ball, at least throw to RB in the flat, it was open all night.

The two picks were on the coach not QB. Second down on the two yard line and you throw a pass after moving the ball down the field with ease. No need to throw the ball in that situation. The other pick was the long ball on 2nd and two, again moving down the field with ease. No need to throw the ball long in that situation. Everybody on the planet knew the HHS D has trouble stopping people, why would you want to score quickly? The back in the flat was open all night long. Why didn't they go to it more often? HHS doesn't make the 2 point conversion on the 1st TD. Why not go to it on the 2nd TD? What's the difference, you lose by 1 point or two. Again, congrats to the Dragons.
