  1. It wasn't that much better and he's playing against much better players in the NBA. I get that the floor is more spread out and it can open up the chance at a three. But those guys are also better, more experienced athletes. Not to mention his 2pt fg percentage is around 44%, which isn't far off from his percentage at UK. What I'm getting at, is that you would think that if the NBA defense is that good, you wouldn't think a rookie with only one year of college experience would be able to keep similar shooting percentages while playing on a bad NBA team. Maybe I'm insane and just hate the NBA, I dunno. But like I mentioned earlier, I used to watch it religiously.
  2. That's pretty close to what he's shooting as a rookie in the NBA. I guess the NBA veterans and elite defense may have dropped his percentages a few points. I would have expected it to be a larger drop though given the fact that he's a rookie that's been thrown to the wolves. My point is his numbers will improve quickly, just like Anthony Davis's numbers have. One reason is they are both really good ball players, the other is their opponents don't play defense.
  3. I'm talking about percentages. If the NBA defense is as good as some say, why is a rookie carrying the same percentages from college to the NBA?
  4. That changed his shooting percentages?
  5. I'm not talking about a single game, I'm talking about averages. His averages are on par with what he averaged in college. If the NBA defense is that good, why wouldn't a rookies averages have dropped? Just sayin.....
  6. He's not, but he has. He's also averaging 26ppg this month. On top of that he's shooting 44% on the year and 38% beyond the 3 point line. His numbers in college weren't much, if any better. But he's supposedly playing against better defenders this year.
  7. I would agree, but watching the one and done's come in and put up 30 point games in their first year tells me there isn't much defense being played. You can use Devin Booker as an example.
  8. I guess I was a bit misleading. I do catch plently of games, but not on my own timem which is what I was implying. Generally I catch games at friends houses when I stop by on weekends and there are games on the tv's while we have our get together's. If it's on someone else's tv I'll watch it, but to me it's still garbage compared to what it used to be. I've watched a ton of NBA ball during my lifetime and to say that the past 5 years is some of the best the NBA has seen is absurd in my opinion.
  9. Defense is certainly something he needs to improve on. That said, I'm not sure many PG's in the NBA can guard him either. The kid doesn't need much room to shoot and if you give it to him he's as deadly as an arrow.
  10. The best the NBA has seen is a bit of a stretch. If you said you said the best the NBA has seen prior to the strike, I could agree. But the current form of the NBA is nowhere near what it was back then.
  11. I used to watch it religiously until they went on strike because they thought they weren't getting enough money.
  12. Defense in the NBA is garbage. I will stand by that until someone can prove me wrong lol. I used to love the NBA, I won't even watch it anymore outside of the playoffs. It's just a bunch of dudes that just want to get paid and don't seem to care much about the game. I can't blame them, I'd love to make that kind of money. But as a fan, I can see that the college guys care much more and play the game as it should be. I guess once you are already guaranteed millions you look at it in a different way. Just my opinion.
  13. I do, but I still do my best to think of things objectively. If the Clyde didn't dismantle the like button I would like your post.
  14. I could agree with that, but that's a big IF. Murray has progressed a lot throughout the season and played as a PG prior to entering college ball. It's a learning experience but he seems to have a great learning curve. If I were an NBA GM and needed a SG or PG I would take him in a heartbeat. Ingram is great, I'm not trying deny that, but I really think Murray has the most potential of the two, the kid can do it all on offense and lets face it, there is no defense in the NBA.
  15. Simmons is a great talent, Johnny Jones is one of the worst coaches I've ever seen. The kid made a mistake by going to LSU in terms of preparing himself for the next level, but he's still the best pick in this year's class.
  16. I have no idea if it's already sold out or not. But if it is, I imagine UK fans bought those tickets expecting that UK will be playing there. Yes, UK fans will buy tickets wherever they are sent, but they will buy more if it's closer to home. A sold out arena is a sold out arena, but a 50% empty arena is bad for ticket sales and looks bad on tv. That said, what sense does it make to send UK far away from home?
  17. That's true, but with either scenario, he would still be a bust.
  18. Rondo was a much better college player than Skal is at the moment. If Skal leaves this year and he likely will, he will be a bust. Write it down.
  19. I'm certainly wearing blinders. But based on potential I think Murray will make a better player than Ingram or Dunn. At the moment he's not as good as them, but the NBA is known to make picks based on overall potential. Which is why there are so many guys that are drafted and are busts, but Murray wouldn't be a bust no matter where he is picked, imo. Skal on the other hand. :ohbrother:
  20. I like you Clyde, but I have no idea what your hash tag means lol. I'm not good with the twitter/hashtag part of the intraweb. :lol2:
  21. It's crazy how often the folks in Vegas nail the spread. I'd like to see a breakdown on how often they nail it within a half a point.
  22. I'm obviously bias, but I would take him over two of the three you mentioned. He has much more potential than Ingram or Dunn. Most NBA teams make their picks based on potential. Outside of Simmons, I don't see anyone that has more potential than Murray at the moment.
  23. The thing is, there isn't a legit 1 seed this season. The tourney is wide open, I would be surprised is more than one, #1 seed makes it to the final four this year.
  24. Someone is going to get a steal with Murray. I think he is projected to be a #7 or so pick in the draft. To me that's absurd, that kid has NBA all star written on his jersey.
