The names I have heard: Bart Williams Brian Hall Maze Stallworth Not saying that one of those 3 are going to be hired but those are just the names I have heard thrown around. All 3 would be good hires for Bath County.

Dylan James - Mercer County
Coach4 replied to 15th Region's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
This will make Mercer County a top 5 team in the state. -
There's not 40 seniors in Kentucky better than Blake Smith. I don't care if John Wooten said it, it's wrong.
-
I would put Clay County #2 in the 13th region preseason rankings. (just behind South Laurel). I would put Blake Smith (Clay) as the #1 player in the 13th region.

Derek Collins named Barbourville Head Coach
Coach4 replied to 4chs's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Not shocked by this. A school system that's struggling financially hired within. -
Just had it confirmed by a Knox County Schools employee, Tony Patterson will be the new head coach. I think Knox just blew a great opportunity to change things at Knox Central but then again they always seem to disappoint me with their stupidity.
-
Just heard that a players and parents meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to announce Tony Patterson as head coach.
-
Spoke to a different person today and she said she don't understand how Knox can hire Patterson after he got caught calling a black kid the N word. She didn't seem to think it was a done deal.
-
Tony Patterson coached the team some this summer but they didn't play many games, maybe 4 or 5. I was told that's why it has took so long, they wanted to see what Patterson looked like coaching this summer. I don't think it went well, several players quit this summer. Again I do believe Knox Central is still going to hire Patterson.

Spoke with a friend inside the Knox County School System. Interviews are set for next week. Candidates are: Tony Patterson (Knox Assist.), John Walker (Hazard Assist.), and Jim Bob Hicks (Shelby Valley HC). Patterson is the leading candidate as of right now but seems to have some issues with parents and young kids on the team. From the sound of it they are very interested in Walker from Hazard and are eager to meet him. Seems they like Hicks because he is experienced but know that he likes to bounce around. Those were the three candidates that I was told.

The only coaching change as of right now is Chris Puckett has took over at Jenkins. Isaac Caudill was Freshman, he was the 6th man on varsity. He's going to be good. Knott County also had two 8th graders that were pretty solid on JV, (Twins) Gannon and Branson Couch. IMO, Knott will start slow but will be much better in Feb and Mar

No coaching changes as of right now. A few weeks back there was a rumor that Coach BB King was going to retire, but nothing ever came of it. - JBS will be ok, they still have the 2 bigs. - Hazard will be good, they return everyone but 1 player and rumor as it that Blake Asher from Leslie has enrolled at Hazard, he will make Hazard a lot better. - Knott County will be led by Austin Combs and Isaac Caudill, they will go thru some growing pains early but be pretty good overall. - Perry Central will be the favorite going into the season but the 14th region will be a 5 team race IMO. Perry Central Hazard Buckhorn Letcher Central Knott County

If Cal does go, the Pelicans will miss the playoffs next year.
