Marion has had some really strong talent over the years. They must be going through a rough stretch in that category right now.

Chief - This is one of the toughest issues I am working at currently here in Franklin. Without getting into to many details I can tell you that many of the things you have listed are things we attempt to do. Seems like many of our youth coaches coach all the other sports so it becomes very difficult to get them out of season. Just curious if your youth play each other only or do they play other counties?

I agree with you on this but unfortunately here in Ky even when you can get a certified coach hired it is very tough to find someone that will fill the teaching spot and also coach. It seems we are very limited in the certified coach applicant pool.

Even after making our highlight film I didn't realize how many great plays Cole made until watching his highlight film. Wow!

Also from Franklin-Simpson - Keep an eye on #18 Saul Brady. Will be a junior next fall. He had over 1,500 all purpose yards last season. He has already put on about 10 pounds of muscle this winter. #51 Dion Pearson will be a junior this coming season as well. 6'1 275 very explosive. There are some other standouts on this team coming back.

Here at F-S we just strive to be our best with what we have. We don't have a whole lot of fancy stuff in our little town. But we have good kids, supportive administration, a tremendous QB club and coaches that care about the kids. No claims from me or our staff of anything else. We generally have about 50 local kids that work really hard and have pride in their school and program. Sometimes we are young or a mixture of young and older kids like most smaller county schools. I am really proud of the fact that we have made it to 2 regional championships and won a couple of district championships in the last few years. There is a whole lot of tradition here from years long before I got here. I am just fortunate and blessed by the man upstairs to be a part of a great group of people that want our kids to do their best. If our town is proud of our kids behavior and effort on Friday nights then we have done a good job. I wish nothing but the best for all kids and coaches that take part in this great game. It only lasts a few years for most of the kids as we all know. I would like to write more about some of the great kids that are playing for us currently as well as some great guys (many former F-S players) coaching here but that would take up to much space. As a coach of 25 years I have been humbled many times in many ways. I am proud to say that I am a completely different coach than I was many years ago. I coach for the kids and our town. I get so much more satisfaction out of coaching now than I ever did when winning was my first priority. Building relationships with the folks involved and the kids has been as much of a focus for me the last few years as winning. What I have learned is that winning this way is much more fun! Now I know all this info is not necessary but I write this in hopes that if some young coach reads this it will give him some insight that 25 years have given me. Really good hire. Mark is a good coach and friend. We have squared off several times over years. It was always a tough game against his teams. He will have BE rolling before long. Good luck coach and Chargers.

One thing old coaches used to say when I was young (now i'm gettin' to be one of the old guys) is no matter what you have to have players to succeed. By players I mean guys that can play. So 25 years into this I know for sure I am a much better coach in the Win Loss column when I have really good players. Nothing new to anyone who coaches but just a reminder to all the young guys who are looking for that first job. Good luck. I hope you win 'em all unless we play.

I really hate to see this program going through this. When I was the head coach at Bullitt East and played them in the state championship I would have never guessed this program would go through this kind of turmoil. I have been going to camp since 1993 with Bell under Dudley's leadership and when Tommy was the head man. I have always admired their kids and coaches and supporters. I hope things are repaired soon. I would like to add that I have always observed Wayne Mills as a guy who loved his players as well as the assistants and head coaches I was lucky enough to develop friendships with over the years. I still wish we had gotten that 2 point conversion in '08. It was a great game. Good luck Bobcats.

We played him in the second round. There is no doubt he is a special player. I think he will have the stats to make a run at it.
