4A District 2. Does anyone have a chance of dethroning SW?

Featured Replies

Does Warren East have anything to go with their backfield?

Will Central have enough players?

Will FS make a run with their young bucks?

Will ACS continue to grow up?

Who will have that breakout year and dethrone the king? Anyone?

South will be hard to dethrone but best chance is FS but if they don't change offense SW will dominate them again a lot of talent coming up with players transferring in

Players are transferring into FS or SW? I wouldn't think SW would need much help. Lol

I don't see SW losing their district. Or region. Or class.

2016 4A state champions.

Transfer from Louisville to SW district.6'4 255 sr DE TE IF ALL GOES WELL BE HERE BY MARCH 1st

Those "boring" under center, three back offenses sure are easy targets these days aren't they?

You can suck, but if your scheme is based out of something "spread"; all is right with the world (sarcasm there, not that I needed to point that out :lol2:). South Warren shut down everybody they played this year & they faced a multitude of attacks. They faced and beat down the Wing T (John/FS), Wishbone (Belly+Power based & some misdirection in JC), Flexbone (G'wood) and North Hardin (TFS) to everything in between. Sometimes you just have a team full of athletic, aggressive tail kickers who also happen to be very well coached. It happens. Not a popular thing to accept or admit, but it happens.

Now, if you are eluding to the fact that F-S needs to improve their passing game, I'd agree....as would Coach Doug Preston. Which, w/out giving out too much information as he is a good friend of mine; I can assure you THAT is a primary focus going into next season.

it is not schemes as mush balance (FSneeds to pass more)but Smith defenses the Wing T so well with disapline that you don't see long plays as for your comment you are correct about athletes and coaching but that's not changing any time soon still have smith and athletes maybe bigger and faster this year !

Remember when Collins went to the Finals, and then went the next year and beat Highlands...and this board began the talk of a "new power"?

Also...will FS make it five years in a row of being"young"? I think they have claimed to be "young" since their run in 2011. They're like the Peter Pan of South Central KY.

Here at F-S we just strive to be our best with what we have. We don't have a whole lot of fancy stuff in our little town. But we have good kids, supportive administration, a tremendous QB club and coaches that care about the kids. No claims from me or our staff of anything else. We generally have about 50 local kids that work really hard and have pride in their school and program. Sometimes we are young or a mixture of young and older kids like most smaller county schools. I am really proud of the fact that we have made it to 2 regional championships and won a couple of district championships in the last few years. There is a whole lot of tradition here from years long before I got here. I am just fortunate and blessed by the man upstairs to be a part of a great group of people that want our kids to do their best. If our town is proud of our kids behavior and effort on Friday nights then we have done a good job. I wish nothing but the best for all kids and coaches that take part in this great game. It only lasts a few years for most of the kids as we all know. I would like to write more about some of the great kids that are playing for us currently as well as some great guys (many former F-S players) coaching here but that would take up to much space. As a coach of 25 years I have been humbled many times in many ways. I am proud to say that I am a completely different coach than I was many years ago. I coach for the kids and our town. I get so much more satisfaction out of coaching now than I ever did when winning was my first priority. Building relationships with the folks involved and the kids has been as much of a focus for me the last few years as winning. What I have learned is that winning this way is much more fun! Now I know all this info is not necessary but I write this in hopes that if some young coach reads this it will give him some insight that 25 years have given me. I hope all your teams have a fantastic season. God Bless.
