  1. We looked the other day and were able to find any schedules for the different regions. But, if you look on the different schools websites the dates and times should be on their schedules.
  2. Everyone of those boys would have stepped out on that field at any time and were ready to do so. Did they want to play, yes they did. Everyone knows that barring injury, the guys that didn't play in soccerama will play a large number of minutes during the season, However, it's a long season my friend, no one can play every second of every game. A coach has to know what kids can perform at the varsity level. They will most likely dress 20+ kids for each game. A sophomore who might not have gotten an opportunity to dress varsity might have earned it on Saturday. Will they play significant minutes? Who knows, but they put themselves in a position to. I wish people would stop trying to stir up trouble where there is none.
  3. whatsalenyou.... Love the name! But, I don't agree with your thoughts. St Henry has a senior heavy roster. Last season it was a junior heavy roster. Not a lot of varsity experience after the boys that didn't play at soccerama. A ton of new talent fighting for opportunities to play. Not one of those boys who didn't play Saturday is going to get an inflated ego or feel entitled to anything. They were happy for the boys who showed well the other night, some of whom probably earned some varsity time by their performances. It's not about some being more important, they are just more experienced. Give the other kids a chance to get their feet wet, play some minutes, that's it.
  4. I don't find adults "joking around" about kids funny that's all.
  5. Oh, and by the way, they were not told they were "secret weapons". If some one told you that you were terribly mis-informed.
  6. Real mature groinpull, you remember that you are talking about high school kids here.
  7. On free kicks the opponent has to give 10 yards..... FIFA Law #13
  8. You have a problem, address it with someone at St. Henry. It is not my job to answer your questions and address your problems in an online message board. Some of you want to gripe and complain but don't want to step up and do anything about it. The booster meeting dates are on the website, I am sure they would be glad to answer your questions if you have the guts to talk to someone face to face. And, KYWonder, I have had kids there for 8 years. playing just about every sport for both sexes. I don't know why you are so hung up on the Principal being at games. Now I will admit that I am not his greatest fan but his attendance at games has nothing to do with anything. You have a problem with the administration at St. Henry, we all get that. If it is so horrible why do your kids go there? If you speak for the Seniors and the in coming kids get out from behind your computer and talk to someone at St Henry about it, don't bash people and other programs anonymously. I know that all sports at the school are treated equally. No one gets more than anyone else. There are plans in place to do maintenance on all of the athletic fields because they all need it. That is the truth. If one gets done they all get done. The revolving door of coaches seems to only be happening on the baseball side. I don't see that as a problem with the administration....
  9. None of you (except Just Jim) have a clue as to what you are talking about. If your kid actually goes to St Henry and you want to know what is going on, go to a meeting and find out. I am sick and tired of the "they only care about" argument because it is ridiculous.
  10. Club sports should not be about getting a scholarship to play in college. Any decent club should tell you that upfront. You put your child in a club system if they are passionate about a sport and want to dedicate themselves to it. They want to be taught how to play the game they love by qualified trainers, not little Johnny or Jenny's mom or dad. If they are fortunate and do well in the club system, they will go to tournaments and showcases and THAT is where they will be noticed by college coaches. Club sports give the kids an opportunity to put themselves in a position to play at the next level, that is it...... Any club or college coach will tell you, the money comes from your academic record. If your kids clubs are not stressing grades then you are in the wrong place! Some kids are lucky and do get varying amounts of athletic money. We have kids from this area that are getting athletic money to play. However, you would never get a $750 partial from Mt. St. Joe because they are D3 and don't give athletic money (and don't let anyone tell you differently) Now IUPUI might, but see they are D1 and they can do that sort of thing. Players do not advance their talent playing high school soccer. They do it for the experience. They do it to be with their friends. And if you pay attention, the schools that do well, have a large number of kids on their rosters that play club ball. It's not the high school coach that makes them good, it's the club coaches. Any high school coach, if they are being honest, will tell you that the more club kids they have, the happier they are. I miss the days where everybody played 2 or 3 sports and everything was just for fun. But then I look at my kids who are dedicated athletes and students, are far more mature and organized than I was at their age, and have had far more opportunities presented to them than I ever had and I think maybe today isn't so bad.
  11. Looking for a team for a family member. The successful team he played on last year was a victim of sneaky parents. Would like to play out of Kenton County but it really doesn't matter. He's a lefty, and has been learning to pitch.....
  12. JMO, but you can't mention Lannon and Green from St. Henry without mentioning Logan Dehner and Austin Langen. The CCH kids I agree with 100% I think you have to throw Devin Morgan in the mix at Scott. Good player. NCC has a good one in Patrick Louis.
  13. Looks to be a new program. The info is on the OE website.
  14. I don't know of any club in the Cincinnati/NKY area that offers anything to "replace" high school ball (yet). KHA has some age group Super Y teams for the summer but I believe that season is over.
  15. Usually very few teams play a large amount of time "full strength" at Bluegrass, same goes for Soccerrama. They are treated as scrimmages and for some schools are part of the tryout process. It would be unusual for many teams to play their starting 11 together for extended periods. If a team plays well during the weekend with the constant shuffle of players I think a coach comes out happy.
  16. St Henry boys beat Western Hills 1-0 in their first game yesterday. Second game was a 4-1 victory over Graves Co. They were supposed to play Central harden at 9:30 this morning but the day was cancelled.
  17. How does that rule read? I have always heard it was a rule and I tried to find it yesterday but I couldn't. I assume I just overlooked it.
  18. at SHDHS they will not cut a true Freshman to make room for a middle school-er. And like I said before, at least in soccer, at St. Henry a 8th grader would only play on the freshman team.
  19. It's the same. Except an 8th grader would only play on the freshman team at St.Henry(at least on the boys side), don't remember it happening with the boys, but it has occurred with the girls. From what I hear there are good numbers at tryouts. No notable additions or subtractions with the upperclassmen. I guess everyone will find out tonight where they fall.
  20. KC Grome graduated last year.
  21. It doesn't look to be a big freshman class by early indications. I would say they will be looking to add 8th graders to that team roster. Numbers can always change though.
  22. Nathan plays in the midfield. In the past he has been hampered by injuries, but healthy he could have a very good year. Has a knack for finding the goal. Nick Staub is a defender who also can play forward. Coach Hahn is lucky in that is has a few players who can play more than one position on the field without a drop off in skill. This will also be the first class that has players who will be in the program for 5 years. While this is not unusual for most programs, St. Henry only started roster-ing 8th graders in 2011.
  23. The Cru will lose 7 players from last year's team, most of whom started or played significant minutes. However, they return a large group of rising seniors who also made significant contributions last year. On the offensive side, Adam Lannon, Logan Dehner, and Karlan Wesdorp will be returning, all were major goal contributors last year. On defense Austin Langen and Alex Green will return to anchor the back line. Senior goalkeeper Tanner Kolking is recovering from a broken leg, and barring complications I would think would be ready for the season, however Junior Tate Johnson is a viable option in the goal Juniors Jack Neltner, Mason Kling, and Sophomore DJ Sanders all saw varsity minutes last season and I would expect them to be major contributors this year. I think the Cru will surprise people this year. They have varsity experience as well as players who play at a high club level. I would expect 2 or 3 of the senior class to play at the next level. But as always, it all depends on how the team comes together and if they stay healthy!
  24. Yes, all A can add up to 4 more games to the schedule. But usually a game or two will be added to the schedule before the season starts.
