Again your wrong: Two of the three may very well be in the Region not to mention I believe Boone Co game went to OT@ Boone. St Henry is not a bad team Will be in the Region for sure and that game was on senior night@ St Henry. Holy Cross without Campbell would be just as bad as Highlands. Cooper lost to Newport on let down game after and emotional night verus Boone Co (riverly game) Augusta and Bracken are the only bad teams that you mentioned (Consider the circumstances) Because Highlands has beat a bad Lloyd team as Well as Beechwood. Beat Scott who is in a funk Scott coming off of losses to Brosart, Cooper and Mont. Co I wouldn't PAT Highlands on the back just yet. There Uniforms will be hanging up until next season come 48 hours from now,

As well as Bracken Co was the 4th game of the week. So I would say those kids were and are tried. Not to take away anything from those kids from Bracken Co apparnetly the won the game, hitting big shot after big shot. So hats off to them. Highlands Basketball program is on the decline compared to what it use to be. If Newport does the rite thing they may be the New number 2 team in the basketball district. As long as GG and DS are not refereeing the game.

I was at Newport and Augusta to watch the number 3 scorer in the state. And the game was closer than the score indicated Augusta ran out of gas. It was a 4 point game with 4 or 5 mins to go in the 4th

Why would won root against a kid anyway? If a kid character is bad you would still want to root that he/she turns out fo the better.

I complety agree. Newport is not a push over and can play with anyone. I heard that the Whistle went Coppers way the majority of the night. Newport talent for talent can play with anyone in this region So any fan or any team or Coach that thinks Newport is push over is wrong. I wasnt at the game but Newport came away with the Win so the better team won that night.

Seibert played a heck of a game(Easy to pin you ears back and play when your team is leading the entire game. NCC had nothing to lose and everything to gain they was hungry.). But it was Seibert(should of been nail in the coffin) who missed the freethows that left the door open for Holmes to go down and take a two point lead on Bolden three. NCC should of won by 20 plus the was up 13 or 14 one late 3rd early 4th during the intentional foul called. Pangallo show guts and Poise to go down and get the basket( he didnt look for team captain and in Bueter and Seibert He had on thing on his mind and he accomplished it, tie the game. Biggest shot in the game in my opinion.

As good as this game was two Sophmores stole the show. If you James Bolden 3 three point shots was not big enough the 4th Quarter Zach Pangallos shot to tie the game with 4 secs to go was just as big. The better team won the game tonight. NewCath owned the glass. Bolden exploed for a career high 37 points ( if he hits all his shot he could of had 50) and NewCath tried there best to contain him It didnt work, I like to wish both teams best of luck and I am sure they will meet again.

If they go beat as bad I am hearing! Then they will be in trouble come Saturday night and next wednesday when they go down to Louisville Male,

Got to get to the game that Counts first. As you stated this region is not a lock. If you have a special and the game is on the line you better make sure it works.

Not surprised by the outcome, however I am surprised by the Margin of Victory. IMO year in and year out Faust coaches the less talented Kids and still wins. That is a sign of a GREAT COACH. I wouldn't be surprised if the won the 34th. Good luck during tourney time

I am glad that you brought that up. Yes Ncc plays good Defense. However the struggle with quickness and guys who handle the ball. Why do you Trinity beat them by 20. They stuggled a bit the second time they play Newport and Bardstown gave them some Problems. Homles is just as athletic as Trinity, Bolden is a better point guard, ball handler, and scorer and quicker, than Trinity has although Holmes doesnt have anyone that can score like Hicks from Trinity. If NewCath plays man they better pack it in and forget about Ball pressure, If Holmes is Making shot. Holmes will stay undefeated. I am not taking anything from Newcat because they do have the peices and capabilty to beat Holmes, and maybe the only school in this area that has consistently played with Holmes other than Cov Cath and can beat Holmes. My Hunch Holmes by 9 unless Newcath is up by 4 or more late in the game then NewCath with stall them out and hit there free throws. Either way its gonna be a good game and I can careless who win. Wish both teams best of luck and health the rest of the season.

I agree. If Holmes is shooting the ball really good it may be a long night for the Breds. I don't see NCC being able to guard Holmes Man 2 Man. If they do, it will be Holmes who will have the Mis-match advantage. Who is Drew McDonald going to guard. His feet are to slow.

If and only if NewCath can stop Holmes in transition it will be a close game. Big floor and depth of guards will bother NewCath. Pangallo and Buther are the only two kids on NewCaths team that will be able to handle the presure. NewCath is the smarter basketball team both schools have great coaching staffs. Holmes will have to win the battle of the glass. HHS in a very good ball game by 9

That was my point in earlier parts of this Thread, it does no justice to seed if your Newport, they would only benefit from a good draw. As good as a season that Newport is having (might I add beating up on terriable teams.) (Outside of HolyCross and Augusta they have yet to beat a team with a winning record.) If Newport would of Drawn NewCath first their season would come to and end. But becasue of the Draw Newprot will play in the region tourney this year. As far as tallent they have spot peice 1 or 2 Sophmore 2 freshman( if lil snap stay) and maybe 1 or 2 eight graders. Six Graders can be good but surley there will be a new coach in place by then

Not sure how it will go once they Vote to seed if it will stay that way or not. But if they vote to seed its not going to matter.They will finish 2nd or 3rd each year and will have to play Highland or NCC. (Example) lets say that Ncc is number 1 in the seed Newport 2 Highland 3 Dayton 4 and Bellevue 5; NCC will play the winner of 4+5 and Newport and Highlands will have to play. Unless Newport can win the District every year (which they cant) there is no justifcation to seed in that district. If I was Rodney Snap I would would say NO to seeding.

I think you count the shot. The call couldn't be a carry ( his hand stays on top of the ball). during the roll over the ball is still being bounce.( if you can slide down the floor and bounce the ball that isn't a traveling call the ball is bouncing and he really doesnt have possesion of the ball) I think it is a good no call. It appeard he was trip. which could be a foul> any contact in with ball handler fall to the floor wheater being accident or purpose is a foul. Just my opinion

I dont disagree with you at all about the face that the situation at Newport sticks out like a sore thumb. It definatily is an eye sore. 60% of the problem lies on the HC. But When you hire a man so he keeps his two sons at the school and allow your assistant to make the substituion so that his own so is geting varsity clock that is a problem. When the freshman class was 7th graders his son was the 7th best Kid on the team. but with some planted implusion his son is now the 2nd best guard in the Freshman Class( Newport has a Freshman guard Last name Fredricks who in my opinion is a better guard the Ethan Snap. Dont get me wrong I love Lil Snaps game too but Fredricks is a better ball handler as well as scorer. Just cant keep things together. For the longest since lil snap was in the 7th grade he was playing freshman and Jv over kids who was better and in a Higher grade. all this has been manipulated by DAD. pushing everyone esle aside in order for his son to shine. Not the other 6 kids that was better than him but the 7th man on the 7th grade team was moved up it just happen to be the Varsity coaches son. No offense taken I have a close friend who knows a little bit more of the situation down there.

Depends on what you schooll budget is or will allow you to do. I think regardless of who play who and where. The only thing that matters is when the two schools face off what is that final outcome. So CCH and Cooper and Holy Cross have play a much harder schedule than HHS but when the respected schools played who won? You would thing that CCH schedule and Dixies Schedule who have prepared them to for the Bulldogs after all the Dawgs schedule is weaker but the fact remains is there is only one undefeated school in Ky.
