really just a bad game by St. X. Eastern had no business beating them, but sometimes a tuesday night game on the road can throw a team off. Brangers' 26 didn't help the Tigers. He was hitting from literally everywhere. No excuses though. Male on Friday becomes a must win for the Tigers to stay relevant sitting at 13-8 right now.

Tigers had control of the tempo and game the whole way. I will give props to Waggener for not "rolling over" because there were a couple of chances for them to just quit. They battled until the final buzzer and have a lot of young talent. St. X has one of their biggest games of the year on Friday. Tigers are 6-0 at home this year and that is no coincidence... St. X student body has really shown up this year, just ask Trinity.

The Rocks just don't know how to lose. Quick and others were cussing at each other (mostly about St. X) the whole way off the court. Sorry for the St. X students having fun and rushing the court too! They had over 1,000 students on their side (Trinity maybe had 100...). All the way around St. X wanted it more! Even if that means the student body wanted it more!

Also Trinity has sent a scout to every single St. X game so obviously they are worried about the Tigers this year...

Tigers win! Haven't since January 27, 2006, but this is the year. Trinity can't focus on one player for X because all are scorers. Rocks have been able to do that in the past and just out play the Tigers. This year it is not the same style of play for either team. Prediction: 67-63 Tiger Victory.

Coach Wolford signed his contract yesterday with the school and is officially the Head Coach of the Tigers.

Apollo was well coached, but couldn't keep up with the speed of the Tigers. Does Collins play fast pace or more half-court? That will be the difference if they are opposite philosophies. (Fun Fact: Apollo's coach was St. X Coach, Kevin Klein's AAU coach when they took a basketball trip to Australia back in 1994. Must have been a good feeling for Klein beating his former coach!)

Dominique Hawkins will be a tough assingment for the Tiger defense! Probably going to be a mixture of man and zone to slow him down. He's the best player in the state in my opinion. X has been playing really well and let's see if they carry that over on to a big stage and one of the most prestiguous tournaments around! Going to come down to the wire and be one of the best games this weekend at Fairdale! Got to pick my Tigers! 75-71 over Madison Central

Tigers weren't 17,18, or 19 points better like it was at somepoints in the game, but that's where some of the "bad officiating" came into play. X was the Better team though.

X played very well led by Rob Shaw. It must have been their game plan to not let CCH get anything from the field and fouling is way of doing that. It is never exciting when your only form of offense is from the free throw line, but that is what X set out to do... Make the colonels miserable by only being able to shoot free throws. Both teams played great games and made it like a playoff type game.

Browning Nagle and his son B.J. are moving in over the Christmas Break. Will be at St. X for first day of school in January. Probably to emerse himself before Spring Ball starts up.

Something like 72 foul shots were taken by both teams combined. Great atmosphere in the gym from the home crowd. Something Covington Catholic is used to but seemed to help the Tigers keep momentum going and have control of the game throughout. Tigers almost the whole way and was much more seperated than the score showed. Ruthsatz is a great player! Very poised and under control. Rob Shaw (30 points) seemed to show that he will not concede that "best junior point guard" title though!

Exactly! Theres a lot more than just football that goes into high school coaching. It will be very interesting to see the transition to a level of football that they haven't been associated with since their playing days themselves. (Especially the non-st. x coaches that have had no taste of the rivalry or what it means to the community)

Wondering if the Colonel Crazies travel? It is a Friday Night, but also an hour + drive to Louisville. I'm sure the students at X are fired up seeing all the YouTube videos of Cov Cath's students... Could be a battle of the crowd being the story line.

8th Grade parents and players both seem to be star struck by Coach Wolford and his background at the NFL Level. Seems as though the Tigers will be also having one of the best coaching staffs in the nation when it comes to high level football experience. Lots of ex-NFL guys in contact with Wolford about a spot
