Eastern 59 St. Xavier 53

Featured Replies

Don't know a whole lot about this game as I haven't had a chance to talk with anyone who was there, but this is the kind of win Eastern's been looking for. They've been muddling about in the middle of the Seventh and haven't really given anyone a reason to think they can win in the regional tournament. A win over a very good St. Xavier team suggests that maybe they can.

Eastern's Jordan Brangers had 26 points which included six three-pointers.

No rest for St. Xavier as they'll turn around and play district rival Male at St. X on Friday night.

really just a bad game by St. X. Eastern had no business beating them, but sometimes a tuesday night game on the road can throw a team off. Brangers' 26 didn't help the Tigers. He was hitting from literally everywhere. No excuses though. Male on Friday becomes a must win for the Tigers to stay relevant sitting at 13-8 right now.

Tough loss for the Tigers. Beat Male!

I definitely wouldn't go that far. The only real effect it would have is that the winner will likely play Brown in the 26th District semifinals which should provide an easier road than playing Collegiate. Still, I can't see Collegiate beating either of them when that time comes. They'll finish 1-2 and ultimately make the Seventh Region tournament.

Interesting that they are 1-3 since the win over Trinity. The lone win was by 9 over Waggener.
