Does Cooper have kids going both ways or do they platoon? Looking at some film from last year, I thought I saw a couple guys going both ways for Cooper.

Looking at Cooper's roster, the o-line looks young as a unit.

A lot of people on here seem to think that Highlands somehow disrespects Cooper. I don't see it. The players I talk to understand that this is going to be a close, hard-fought game. I know the HHS coaches respect this game. I have not seen any Highlands fans on here predict a blow out. HHS has not built a dynasty by taking teams lightly. I expect a great game that is down to the wire. Personally, I would love to see a last second 50 yard field goal to win the game.

I don't recommend looking at frosh and jv records to predict varsity success. That line of thinking just does not work when it comes to HHS. Friday night will be just another practice for Highlands (A lot of guys rolling in and out and the coaches not showing their hand). We will have to wait until the Cooper game to determine where this team is talent-wise. I expect another great year at HHS. I did see Doughtery banging 45 yarders yesterday like they were extra points. Watching him kick is a treat.

I like the staggered pattern of the field. The lighter color will likely help with on field heat.

Birds vs. covcath

A targeting call was made at a jv game last year. A receiver caught the ball, advanced the ball, and was in the grasp of a defender. The receiver was making progress. A safety came over and tackled the receiver around the waste with a form tackle using his shoulder. It was not a big hit by any definition. The safety was called for targeting. The safety told the ref he did not know why he got a penalty. The ref simply told the safety he was targeting. The safety replied, "Of course I was targeting him. He had the ball." If you are confused about targeting, you are not alone.

Lineman Challenge: First Place:Woodford County Second Place: Highlands Third Place: Ryle Highlands won three of the five team events: obstacle course, truck push, and sled push. Ryle won the boulder race. Woodford won when it counted - tug of war. This was a great event. The players seemed to have a great time and got along with each other a lot better than the guys that are posting on this thread.

O-line challenge is today.

All I know about is HHS and Ryle.

That seems like a great turn out.

Highlands will be attending.

It did take place. I did not get to go but watched the first 100 plays on hudl. It looked about even to me. But hard to know without being there in person.

I look forward to catching a few practices in the next few weeks to see how the offense and defense are shaping up.

You know more than I do. Mine is just speculation.

Please refer to post #72 of the current thread on March 20. I agree 450 is not equal to 425. However, it is closer to 450 than your example of 275. The 450 lift was not videoed. In hindsight I should not have mentioned it in this forum without video proof as I too would request.

What is more impressive? Bench press 405 for 5 reps or 450 for 1 rep?

Always wanted to go to Belfry. Planning a trip there next year. Too busy watching the Birds this year to go.

They put a few yards down yesterday and were putting down more this morning. They were beginning to sew the individual sections together. The colors really pop. I hear there will be no more father painting nights because the non-green areas are actually colored turf. No need to paint. I am not aware of any major injuries and the pieces seem to be falling into place.

Seems like business as usual. They are making the most of the new field house: A lot more weight stations and room to do drills to go faster, harder, and heavier than ever.
