Got to slide. Although it looks to me like she would of been called out either way because ball is there tag is low enough. If you slide at least you have a chance! When you see teams wearing shorts you cant help but think they went to a soccer game and a softball game broke out.

The Cincy Static 96 finished 4th last weekend in the ASA 16U B Eastern Nationals! The team had 3 young ladies from Northern Kentucky that had a successful summer ball season. Rachael Carrol from Campbell County Ashley Grosser from Highlands Kendall Turner from Highlands Yes it was last weekend but I was on vacation and couldn't help myself from bragging on these 3 young ladies. It's an exciting time for fast pitch softball in Northern Kentucky to read threads on how many girls are playing and excelling during the summer!

I think there is some sort of exception for the pitcher. We had a play where the ball hit the pitcher deflected off of her knee hit the girls simply running to the next base and the deflected ball hit the base runner. The runner was called out even though the ball had been deflected off the pitcher. That all being explained it doesn't mean the umpire made the right call.

You would think if the ball was deflected by a defender it would no longer be considered a live batted ball where the runner would be out if hit by the ball.

One of them H stickers might be a good Idea to start with! I think I will hold out for that full ride (OK even a 51% ride) to a college somewhere to discuss a new paint format! For the record my naming rights on BGP and RV color is available to the highest bidder for a college education and an opportunity to have softball as part of her college experience if she so chooses and the opportunity arrises!

LOL! Nope NO shame on me (for that anyway)!!! I am having fun with the comments that (HHS gets the transfers) like we are on our 2nd straight championship or something. Did I mention I am proud of the educational opportunities that are available to my DD at Highlands! Just like if I wanted my DD to get a catholic Based education there are plenty of good choices and I would pay the tuition for her to have that opportunity! Simple as that not trying to influence the young ladies transferring just having fun with the comments! If I did I would not do it on this forum or I would start the thread "Hey come to my school" which BTW would be a fun thread!

IMO Highlands is a great place to have a High School experience! The learning enviorement is top notch the out of city tution is affordable why wouldnt you want to transfer to Highlands! I don't know of any that transfer in just for the softball program it has to be for what goes on in the classrooms between 7:00 and 3:00, and any extracurricular activity like fastpitch softball (especially on a new field) adds to that High School Experience!

Definately not taking anything away from Haylee Smith surely she was on the all Regional Tourney team she is a great player. She dominated especially vs HHS with a 1 hitter! She had a Great Tournament. I thought the other young lady was a real good pitcher too at least vs HHS when we saw her in the valley. I thought they were 1 & 1A early in the year I thought I read they were pitching on odd or even days and they ended up undefeated in the 9th region.

I pick NDA NDA plays good D, they have good pitching (although it seems they have forgot about which has obviously become their #2 pitcher who is also VERY GOOD)! With that kind of pitching and solid D they should be a tough out! GOOD LUCK NDA

Pitcher: The Hoeh girl from Newport would be a great pitcher on a team that would focus on D behind her! Although its hard to be underratted with 500 strikeouts, unfortunately I dont know if she will ever get her due at newport! Quality Young Lady! I have heard she is also a state ranked Bowler!

I would pay to park and admission! I like the concept! Maybe Highland Country Club could build a deck up on the hill and serve beverages!

Thats Impressive! What a accomplishment for the young lady! I hope it was DD on the at bat where she struck out.

Naturals are a great group of kids and parents!

There are hundreds of cliches or sayings where so many teams have had this same delima over the years! At this point I will have to go with "Just can't get over the hump!" Luckily for these young ladies the season is not over yet and they still have the opportunity to fight through the adversity and come together and make a run in the tournament! Or It could be a quick end to a pretty decent year! They definately need that breakthrough win where someone comes up with a big hit for a walk off win or something to happen to get over that hump! For the record its a pretty good HUMP Too there is a reason the big 4 are the 4 teams to beat in the 9th Region! Ryle is a very good team and they came out hitting and took care of business early! Its not for lack of desire, It's not for a lack of ability, Its a mental block like a slump My DD for example is in a terrible titantic slump but one big hit will hopefully lead to a second one so on and so on! Until Then: Like Mr meatpuppy said "Its one of the mysteries of the universe."

I was telling Chipp Gregg about the double Play after the game at my sons Baseball practice and he took all the credit (JK) for her greatness! He had real good things to say about Her! I was amazed she was able to make that play!
