I firmly believe that if the soccer games had better concessions, it would be more accepted by the football crowd.

Offisdes in soccer would actually be compared to lining up offsides in football...not outrunning the player. You wouldn't let the WR stand at the goal line during the snap, right.

And the uniform !!!! Pretty "exposed" Why is it that the more "manly" the sport, the more feminine the uniform. Football......put them in spandex capri pants and muddy up the field Wrestling....put them in a women's one piece bathing suit Pro Wrestling.....boots and speedos (wish I was that smart....credit to comedian Pete Lee)

Sir.....as we wind down to the post season, a personal thank you for the time spend researching and reporting these type of stats. This is the most informed I have been, ever.

Didn't KHSAA put some rule in place so they have to?

Attaboy Clyde...... I have a couple thoughts on this..... First and easiest.....the publicity that Football is receiving about concussions may be driving parents at the early ages towards soccer..... Right now on TV....cable or satellite.....you can watch 4 professional league soccer games during the week, and at least 3 games before the college football games start on Saturday and a couple on Sunday. There is more the out there...at a professional level for exposure. Just like football or any sport, if you understand it, you can see the games within the game.......OT vs DE for example...... The biggest changes are at the soccer club levels. They have moved from Recreation to businesses. To be successful, these business models must charge enough to keep them open all year, and therefore must provide year round services (training, year round leagues, etc) to make the amount they are charging (up to $2000 per year per player) seem valuable. The time required by the players is what may be pulling numbers. IMHO

PK...agree with Yellow ...quality player, and this conversation isn't about the that quality or specifically him.... When someone mentions offensive achievements they usually start with mentioning xx goals and xx assists scored ....or that the player has been involved in xx% of the teams scoring.........those stats come from the website and conversations over the year have been around inconsistency from team to team on reporting. Some teams use players to keep them and some use parents/coaches.......some were giving two assists, etc...... so the conversation is more around consistency and not a player. I'm pretty sure YC has drafted Wend in his fantasy league.

Interested to hear the details. It has been my experience that MoCo has a few players that play the game to bring the opposing players to that level......

"But given the disparity in talent level 12 players to 12 players, IMO if they play each other 10 times, Summit wins 7-8 out of 10." No argument here......that is why CCH schedules these games......better to use these to bring build your own skill, speed and expectations than to play teams that do not challenge you.

Sorry.......was thinking of my response to someone on another thread....... For some reason, KHSAA reported the score for the Dixie game as 6-0 but didn't report the individuals..... Sir....PLEASE accept my apology and THANK YOU for your time :thumb:

I just read this a little closer.......if you are referring to me.....I will respond....if not, please disregard...... I have not singled out any individual player for DPOY, good or bad. I've mentioned them as a whole. Did I mention any single player's name that had the OG? Was it even a defender? Was it a mistake? Would another player even have had the athletic ability to even get a head on the ball? Please show me where I have "discredited others team's players" ....I've listed facts and given my opinions, usually supported by specific stats......I do not believe I have ever made blanket, non supported statements........if there are out there, please show me.....not my style.

I'm sure there are others that are incorrect also....but I can report that the Dixie/CCH game on KHSAA didn't list the goals or assists on the website.....for some reason.... So add 2 goals and 1 assist to Litzler's numbers for this game....Add 1 goal and 2 assists for Day....I'm sure other player's may have adds or changes as well but ca only report what I follow.

Agree with everything said...... Summit is the best technically skilled team I have seen around my 10 plus years of HS soccer..... I can explain them this way......Imagine the best Ky player on your team, or another. Usually you may have one, or two players like this......they have 7 offensive players that fit into this category......then they have 3 big, strong, fast and talented defenders that allow them to play 3 across the back and release the others to attack..... If there is such a thing.....this is a "good" loss. The defense experienced pressure tonight that they haven't seen and probably won't see, in the level of the number of players. If they come away with the fact that they gave up only 2 goals during actual play (and not on restarts or corners) and one was during injury to the regular line, they can come away positive. The offense, IMHO, learned that they need to pick up speed of play, BUT they need to do it while maintaining possession and using the easy passes instead of trying to force passes up two levels when an out pass is available........work it up against good teams....... Two quality teams played last night....well done......get healthy and best of luck to both in Post Season.....

I believe I did see Clyde. He was disguised as the ball boy working very hard on the fans side.

Neither were on frame......both were headed backwards from some distance into the goal..... Hopefully both players were not injured too badly.....looks like the same player (possible cramps) from the first half, left with cramps in the second half, but up to that point, I hadn't noticed him having much impact on the game.... CCH's starting outside defender went out extremely early in the second half and did not return, so the what if's are on both sides........didn't know Cougars were that short handed......perhaps would have increased their shots on goal for the game to be over 5.......
