Yeah not sure. It was a going to be a Coin flip between Beechwood, Highlands and Ryle for the 2 seed before the Beechies went to Union last week and beat the Raiders. Beechwood did Highlands a huge favor. Highlands who is 8-1 are playing for the Title next week regardless of the results tonight. Just don't know where yet. My guess, in Park Hills next Wed. Think that's when Covington Catholic plays their Freshman games. I believe that's what Highlands wants. Another shot at Covington Catholic.

All three of those kids mentioned I believe are not playing anymore. No clue why not. I think I counted 4 kids playing Football will be also playing Basketball but none will be starters like the ones you mentioned above. The only ones still playing Basketball that play Football that I know of. (JR)Gregory, (Soph's)Carnohan twins, Abner But there are several Freshman who also dress up with Varsity football who also play Basketball.

Imagine if Freshman Spencer Clukey of Covington Catholic would of stayed at Highlands and played with his former Class at Highlands? It is still a special group of players but having that 6'-4" Big body kid around would of paid dividends for the Highlands program. With the Benke Twins potentially getting to the 6'-5" height and with Spencer alongside Haretuku at 6'-3", this D-Line alone would of been Huge. What could of should of I guess.

Covington Catholic is at Dixie tonight. I believe it's at 6 p.m.

While they might be beating up on each other, they're getting the 2's Varsity ready for another strong run next season. Rinse and Repeat. I think the Highlands Freshman team benefits more than anybody. All of them practice alongside the Varsity on a day to day basis and get the same Varsity Coaching and some Reps as the older kids do. Great system. Gets them ready to compete.

Crazy to think what that Freshman program alone brings to the table with Tuition to Moeller.

Highlands with the running clock last night midway through the 2nd quarter over Conner? Wow. They're rolling. Heard there was 2 defensive scores early. Blocked punt by Lorenzen with #12(don't know his name) and a Lorenzen strip scooped up by Jacobs and returned for a TD. Jacobs is the grandson of the late Dave Roller. There is that name again. Roller. Household name in Highlands Football history. Sounds like Lorenzen is living up to the part. May have to check out the Birds. When is their next game? Doesn't the Varsity play next Thursday?

Fryman is playing up where he belongs. Right? Shouldn't he be a Soph anyway? Just sayin. I know what everyone did including the several current Freshman at Beechwood did back in 2020 was clearly within the rules but now to only have 4-5 Sophomores now playing Football hurt that Class. Fryman was not dominate last year when HHS shut him down when he was a 8th grader. Or was he a Freshman. I'm confusing myself here. LOL.

Classy from Coach Warner. I remember him when he was at Ryle. Great motivator. Wasn't he at CCH for a short time?

Regret what? Being hated. He has found out it doesn't matter how nice he is, he now Coaches at Highlands and somewhere along the line a Coach was a player or an Official who also played had 70 laid on them from Dale Mueller at one time. There is no walking that back. Ever.

Cooper marching into Ft Thomas in a couple of weeks to knock off the Birds. If they can play with CCH then look out.

Campbell County is at Highlands tonight. I believe the game is at 6:30

Eh. Highlands won 5A in 2007,2008,2009 & 2010. And in 2009 they were Nationally ranked as high as #3. I'm thinking they were ranked #1 in 5A probably every week through that run. Maybe BGP #1 but I highly doubt that too.

Oh okay. That's a lot of points. I'm guessing HHS used both their Freshman QB's and no Litmer. I'm hearing Litmer isn't sniffing the JV team. Can't risk injury. I get it.

Did the JV play on Sat? If so, what was the Score? I do remember the Two not playing in 2022 and HHS played Beechwood instead.

I don't think they play anymore JV games for the rest of the year. That's what I heard. They canceled HHS next Sat because of a small Soph class and a heavy Freshman class. Just play Football!

8 of the 9 teams get a extra game. 1 vs 2 3 vs 4 5 vs 6 7 vs 8 HHS will not be the odd man out. They will get that extra game wherever they land. My guess no lower than 3. Kudos to the powers to be who organized this. Most teams kids only get Freshman ball and this gives them 1 extra week to play. Good stuff.
