Funny you bring that up. I was talking to someone very much in the know yesterday and he said that Coach Sphire was on a Zoom Call with one the Alabama's coaches and Freshman Brody Benke and Carson Class just so happen to be sitting nearby and now are on Bama's watch list for the next 4 years for what it's worth. So who's being a meanie now? I would say Coach Sphire has more connections than your average Coach. There's the Bama thing again.

That's weird. I witnessed Coach Sphire on Friday night walk up to a group of Baseball kids that just got done playing a game and said not to worry about missing something with Football right now. He told them to worry about Winning Regional Championships and Winning State Championships. Sound quite the opposite of what you're saying. Now if a kid isn't playing a Spring sport at HIGHLANDS and wants to participate in something else or miss for a Vacation rather than take advantage of Spring Football, then Coach Sphire has every right to hold Players accountable for their actions In my opinion. Lets be realistic, how many NKY kids have gone True DI the last couple of years? Not many. It's a handful but NKY isn't a DI Football Factory. Now if you were talking Jefferson Co then okay. I just think the masses in Ft Thomas since March 1st are thinking quite differently than you may suggest and as someone else has already stated that no one is bigger than any program. Things have to change in Ft Thomas and it starts with Bob Sphire. He wasn't brought here to go 5-5. I think the position that's being offered is a great opportunity for someone to get in the door in Ft Thomas. I will even go a little further to say that I think this position is not far from being a full time position as well. Ft Thomas Schools have the money and if they can see a significant change then they will Invest the money needed to make it happen for all the Students. Only time will tell. Just my 2 Cents.

The reason I bring this up is because of his recent Application rejection at Highlands. Some feel that it was his to lose and others I have heard on the street say that it’s still too big of a Job for him. His bitterness on Social media in the last couple of days makes me wonder if he should even lead a Pop Warner team. I wonder if he’s looking for his erase button right now. I personally don’t have a Axe to grind with him but his recent antics is a head scratcher to me. Who cares if you didn’t get the job. Now you will never get the Job let alone work in the FTIS system. I thought that was your end Goal. To work in the town you live in. I guess not. Good Luck Steve.

Yes you do. There are a few in the program now that are just unrealistic for their own kids. Those are the cancer. Somehow they think it's okay to call coaches and talk to them about their little Johnny. I'm convinced this is what happened. Coach James was flooded with nonsense that even the seasoned Coach couldn't handle. It's a real shame actually. Most of the parents are really humble but all it takes is One Clown to ruin everything. Someone told me that they think it's the same idiot that poisoned the punch 3 years ago when the former coach was then being ousted only to save the day by starting a resistance. I personally don't know the dude but from what I have heard he's a real charmer.

Yes. Someone thought they had the Scoop. Nothing surprises me anymore with what people will come up with. If it is the name they released then great for them. Still don’t think it’s the right thing to do. Did it name names on where they got their Info from? Or does it matter anymore?

And Championships were won before the current setup. Who cares at this point. Just win.

Totally agree. I remember when It was talked about on BGP about Billy Donovan was buying a Horse farm in Versailles. Right? How did that turn out? I love BGP. I come here for everything I need to know. But some of the Info in this very Forum is really tough to wrap my head around. That’s just not how schools operate in 2021. Again I don’t think schools with academics like Highlands and many other can afford to operate like the Old school days. Just doesn’t work like that anymore.

Yes but also in the same breath have to protect their own Program. Plenty of other posters have already contributed to tearing apart the Applicants current situation or reputation by throwing names out there. What is NCC thinking right now? So our coach isn’t happy where he is? I get it that Lickert is a Highlands grad but so is Wolfe. I think both would be just fine where they are. I have heard the names of the applicants and Wolfe’s name isn’t mentioned. Don’t think he’s interested or even applied. Again I think it’s Bathiany’s to lose.

Out of all of them I think Bert is your man. A couple of those names Highlands can’t even be serious with. So I don’t think there is a short list.

You with some other posters are really going to wish you could walk back some of your posts someday. Basically diminishing the efforts by an administration some are supposed to support. I’m thinking that Student Athlete reads all of your concerns along with many others about his role in this process. Because I think he’s not going to forget it. Bravo. Being a High schooler right now is already tough enough and especially in the last 9 or 10 months. Good job making it that much tougher. I thought you and TFVH were going to lay low? Apparently not. Thought you guys supported Highlands High School? It sounds quite the opposite.

He was the OC in 2019. Weinrich was told to find another one for 2020 and decided to just take on the role himself. Umberg was retained to help the JV team this past year. Weinrich just kicked the Can to the next Corner. Hence is part of the reason Highlands is looking for a a new Coach. Not the main reason but one of many. Weinrich just wasn’t able to make business decisions when it came time to choose between being a CEO or a Friend.
