No worries JMU! They do have the ability to promote, I give them that. Just doesn't look like it is always the most deserving, which leads to yet another argument on their downfall there. But I won't go on a tangent again...it's all worked out how it should.

Guess if you are opposing coaches you tend to not like other coaches? Cause carpooling at that point would be out of the question, right? I mean look outside the box and do what is right for the girls. However, I believe most coaches get a stipend for travel....calculate this into that. Ask the former Ryle coaches how it works, I am sure they got paid for all their meetings they attended. LB...we are talking about 9th Region coaches, not other regions. Looks like we are the lowest represented region in the association with 4. 14th Region is next with 5, 15th Region has 6. Over half the 16 regions have greater than 9 schools representing! So if poor ol' NKY wants to stop being looked down upon by everywhere else (I don't believe this but see enough posts claiming we are) then we need to show them what our girls have. No one else is going to promote them!

. So here is what I have been told.........member coaches attend meetings in Lexington, initial meeting nominations are made, stats & promoting of the girls is done. The actual voting for the nominees is done by other coaches, not the one doing the nominating. Here in lies the problem as I had it explained to me......if all the coaches do not attend meetings, then obviously the choices to select are extremely limited, if there are any choices to be made at all. I cannot believe that Ali Crupper, had she been nominated, would not have won 9th region this year, or even last year!! If Haylee won it the two years prior while Cassie Hamilton & Jenna Sander, among others, were on the team then Ali surely would have won it just for her pitching stats alone. Conner has had several players that in my opinion could have certainly been candidates also (mention them because they are also a member school & was surprised at one point that Haylee won it over KC Straley, Katelyn Williams, Sarah Begley, & Katelynn Halcomb). However, from what I was told Conner has not participated in these meetings. In all fairness I can only say this for four years ago when this whole process was explained to us as we sat waiting for the dinner presentation to begin. This after driving Haylee back to Lexington from a TN tournament and then after presentation right back to TN. Until I heard the process, I thought 9th Region POY award was an honor. For most regions it probably is. If more 9th region schools were involved and more girls were actually nominated then it would be. IMO, at this time it is a joke. I know that Joe mentioned at the end of the year that he intended on getting involved with the KSCA next year and with Highlands and St. Henry too, let's hope even more schools get involved and make the POY award and All State awards what they should be & have multiple representatives from the 9th region in the EAST/WEST All State game!! The hard work the girls do certainly warrants better representation than they have gotten to date.

That was 2011/2012 list (see top of page). This year was Conner, Cov Latin, Lloyd & Ryle.

Do we all really have to ask anymore? I would say that out of the 4 that can nominate, it would be one, MAYBE two. This screams the need for more coaches from our region to become members at the state level or the people that should be nominated will continue to be looked over!

That's definitely him, had the chance to meet him down at state. He came to watch the NDA/Montgomery County game.

Owensboro won...not sure of final but know it was at least 5-1 when NDA game over. They had been tied 1-1 until 6th (I think).

With a whopping 4 coaches that represent the 9th region, not surprising to me. Hopefully more will become active in the state association next year. And Maddy should have definitely been on the list along with a few others in both junior & senior classes.

Emails were sent out to families announcing the new coach has been hired. Meeting is set for girls and families to meet head coach, Wyatt Foust, tomorrow evening.

Per Kim Gunning, announcement should hopefully be made sometime today.

I have some left in my can....I'm good for now but will certainly be willing to pay a pretty penny when I run out!!

She does and does it quite well. Same way she does SS. Nothing wrong with playing multiple positions. Pretty much secures your coaches will find you a spot, especially when you can hit like Jordan does!

The rumor has been that they would go to St. Henry. I would personally be surprised; the Roark family has been very involved with Conner softball for several years. However, if they do, best of luck to them. Jessie would have prime spot to pitch.

Mouth is already watering! Not had Ol' Hickory, but if it's better than Moonlight we can't go wrong.
