Jones pitched, Greenwood is going to be hard to beat either way.

Both Greenwood pitchers - Moss and Graham - had the best changeups I've seen.

Greenwood starter pitched one inning. She was then relieved by another strong pitcher.

 

I was told that no matter how many innings the game went NDA was not going to score.

 

I was also told that while Jones gave up a few long balls Greenwood scored a lot of runs of traditional fastpitch dinks/dunks/slaps.

Why would NDA pitch Jones when she didn't pitch in the region tournament or the first round of the state tournament.

 

I've heard Greenwood is the #1 team in the state and (for what it is worth) a possible top 10 team in the country.

 

Wouldn't you want your #1 pitcher going against them instead of pitching Jones who hasn't pitched since the district tournament? :idunno:

I won't put words into Joe's mouth but my guess is you play the odds. Why pitch your ace in what is almost a non-winnable game when you have another game you need to win afterwards? He's looking past that one game. Give her a rest and let her be fresh for the winnable game vs the team that you're simply not going to beat.

Moss only pitched the first, but it didn't matter, both were outstanding. Here are pitching lines:

Graham: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K
