Simon Kenton/Campbell County Predictions 2/14
Lets get a few things straight.... I am not a coach, teacher, administration or staff at any school. Not even a janitor, bus driver or employee of a board of education. Many people on here know who I am. I own a business, and am a bi-vocational pastor. The video I am referring to is NOT any school or team video. As a hobby, I make highlight videos, documentaries, senior videos, college recruiting videos, promo videos...etc. (If you want to see a sample, let me know, there are some on you tube) Because I was getting footage for a video project, I filmed a majority of the first SK vs Walton Verona game at Walton. This is why when Coach Clink got tossed in that game from his technical, I had my film of it from a unique and different angle where I usually film along the baseline and sideline. I just happen to be filming that game, and because of that I just happened to catch about everything that went on, including the technical, one "extra physical" incident and sorry, the random SK defenders hands on players hips and backs. (just like any other team will do randomly) Now to where we are now. Once again, you have gone just a little overboard! What I posted was not a threat as you have seem to respond back with. No, I would never post anything from my video with intent to "tear down", "strike back", cause harm to any person, MUCH LESS high school students. No, I have zero intention of threatening anyone or any school with anything. In fact, I would never go outside of the authority of Walton's coaching staff and do anything with any video I had, other than use it to make the senior video, and season documentary videos that I was asked to do. My only intention was to "back up" my comments that your SK team is not the perfect, non fouling little angels, that you said they were, by telling you that my video shows otherwise. Yes, it shows MORE than hand checks that you said they did not do. In other words, if I posted it, it would prove you wrong several times over. And for your benefit in this threads argument, you would not want it public on here for all of us to see just how silly your comment was. I know that you are using the word "we" in your post, and others on here have posted that you are a coach, but honestly, I do not believe that. A coach, coaches with class like SK has, would never ever post a threat of this sort on a public forum. Athletic directors would discuss it privately, just like they did last year about the incident you are referring to.

Um. No. And trust me, you would not want me to post what I have caught on film.

Simon Kenton/Campbell County Predictions 2/14
And I definitely would not need 24 game films to catch the SK hand checks, one is more than sufficient.

I can vouch for the pulled pork. It is incredible. If they have it, get one for sure.

A few thoughts from the game.... Perhaps one of the better offensive executed games for the Bearcats in a while. They still missed DeZarn who is still out this week taking precaution from a mild concussion last week, however Walton has been playing interchangeable parts all season, so they have learned to swap people around and still be efficient. Number 15 from Dixie is a very nice player. Small in stature but plays bigger with her physical play. A lot of heart and a lot of speed. She wasn't always able to finish, but she could sure get to the rim. Dixie seemed to get things going very well in the second quarter. Hit some buckets on drives and hit some three's, but was not able to sustain it in the second half. Led by Zoe Luebbe on the interior, Walton did a great job defending Tibbs, keeping her from getting position and clean looks, and helping from the week side when necessary. Walton proved their 7th in the state free throw percentage, shooting 89.6 tonight as a team from the stripe. It is great to see Alie Mills lighting it up from 3 land like she is. She is shooting with a lot of confidence right now which is tremendous for the Bearcats down the stretch and heading to the post season.

I did some checking last night and you are correct. DeZarn was sitting out for concussion reasons. I think she is fine, just needed to take a few days off to be sure.

Holmes 105 Lloyd 48
Well. Well. Well. Hats off the the Lloyd kids for doing what I am sure was the best they could. Hope they don't hang their heads. We all know Holmes is good. They have nothing to be ashamed of.

Yes DeZarn was out of the line up. She was not in school Tuesday and not present that evening. I don't know exactly why other than she was probably sick. I know she was missed. Suddenly Walton is not as deep without her...not to mention what she brings to the team with her speed.

Do AAU player relationships compromise HS game competitiveness?
I do agree. Generally, this makes perfect sense, however I think that girls that want to play AAU will usually tend to be more "competitive" in nature. This will probably make most of them not fall all the way into what is generally true for "the whole". Because they are more competitive in nature, the "being nice" to a friend is far less of an issue/option than it would be for most. I have seen girls that are very tight from AAU, play each other in high school games absolutely get after it, even give each other "dandy" fouls then laugh about it after the game. I will also add that after they have played AAU for a while and met so many players from other schools, it becomes a normal occurrence to be playing against someone you know well throughout a HS season. Once it's normal, they learn that it is totally okay and expected to put all friendship aside. In other words, "experience" curbs what could be a natural tendency. Basically between a more competitive nature, and learning that they are free to compete and not expected to be "nice", I don't think it is ever really an issue.

That's good news...as RCC9 stated, injuries stink.

Walton Verona 59 St. Henry 42
I could be way off, but it seemed to me the St Henry was struggling with getting shots to fall the first half. Maybe it was just "one of those nights" that all teams can suffer from, but is seemed that they just could not get anything to fall. Maybe credit Walton's defense, I don't know, but it seemed that this was more of a factor early than the turnover issue was.

Perhaps the bigger story of the evening was the Lay up for Lauren Challenge. There was a great crowd on hand for the pre game event and the game itself. Maybe hundreds of people did the "challenge" including players and coaches from both schools. The St Henry and Walton Verona communities showed tremendous support not only with attendance, but with generosity. I am not 100% sure of the total amount donated. The post game "oversized" check presentation showed $2,500, however later in the evening, Walton Verona's twitter feed announced $3,500. Either way there was an incredible amount donated by fans from both schools to be given to the Cure Starts Now Foundation and pediatric brain cancer research. It was a very successful evening, even before a game was played.

I You can scout all you want but you still have to have players capable of executing game plans and scouting information. I wish just scouting got wins.
