St Henry got it down to @ 7 during the second half but couldn't push through. The story of the game is the story of the year thus far with St Henry- too many turnovers and missed layups. I know the girls are frustrated, but there is time to get some of this fixed!

Didn't help not have Jordan Miller last night.

The Ison girl was scoring from three and from a couple post up moves. Seems like they hit at least 7-8 three pointers. That, along with free throws won the game for WV.

Was very happy that St. Henry never quit. They kept battling...

St. Henry never gave up that is for sure. Just dug to big of a hole to start the game.

It was my first time seeing the Cru play. Like bluedad said they turned it over way to much and missed some point blank shots. I really like the way Noble plays. I was really looking forward to watching Neace play and was disappointed! I am sure that she had a bad game but I do not see her playing D1 ball. That is just my opinion.

Perhaps the bigger story of the evening was the Lay up for Lauren Challenge. There was a great crowd on hand for the pre game event and the game itself. Maybe hundreds of people did the "challenge" including players and coaches from both schools. The St Henry and Walton Verona communities showed tremendous support not only with attendance, but with generosity. I am not 100% sure of the total amount donated. The post game "oversized" check presentation showed $2,500, however later in the evening, Walton Verona's twitter feed announced $3,500. Either way there was an incredible amount donated by fans from both schools to be given to the Cure Starts Now Foundation and pediatric brain cancer research. It was a very successful evening, even before a game was played.

I could be way off, but it seemed to me the St Henry was struggling with getting shots to fall the first half. Maybe it was just "one of those nights" that all teams can suffer from, but is seemed that they just could not get anything to fall. Maybe credit Walton's defense, I don't know, but it seemed that this was more of a factor early than the turnover issue was.

St.Henry has played ALL but 2 and 1/2 games this year without it's senior starting point guard Natalie Weber. Last night another starting senior, Jordan Miller was also out of the lineup. This team has battled injuries and illnesses since game 3 of the season.

Didnt see Dezarn in the Walton box score. She normally starts, did she not play?

Yes DeZarn was out of the line up. She was not in school Tuesday and not present that evening. I don't know exactly why other than she was probably sick. I know she was missed. Suddenly Walton is not as deep without her...not to mention what she brings to the team with her speed.

I believe that DeZarn is out with a concussion as a result of the fall she took in the NCC game.

I did some checking last night and you are correct. DeZarn was sitting out for concussion reasons. I think she is fine, just needed to take a few days off to be sure.

Yep, should not miss more than 1-2 games, I would classify it as a mild one and she is just taking a cautious approach.

As a side note of this game, a male fan was ejected by one of the officials during the second half of this game. Interestingly, the male was the father of one of the WV players AND a teacher/employee of Walton-Verona Schools system.

Is this acceptable conduct by a teacher ?
