  1. On a side note, Rubio has some large ears. My wife pointed it out, then I could not hardly watch him anymore without snickering.
  2. We felt the same way in our house, especially Huckabee. I will also add that Carson did something to get my attention. Even though it seemed he started slow, somehow he sold himself as being a good kind of "different" than the rest of the pack.
  3. I do not know either one of you, however, with all my heart I can say I am grateful neither one of you were aborted. You both have far, far far more to contribute to the "advancement" and better of society than your body parts and stem cells ever could have. Just the same as every other child aborted today and tomorrow. I prefer the message that says you have more to offer alive than dead.
  4. I am surely more sickened and brought to tears over 3,000 children "terminated" just yesterday, than I could ever be about an animal being shot, even if it was in a very controversial manner. What is more baffling, and very ironic, is folks getting in a fuss and tears over a dead lion, while at the same time endorsing and promoting perverted and destructive sexual behavior, and endorsing the murdering of thousands of children per day. Hey, let's be sad and outraged, and call for justice over a dead lion, while we throw the sanctity of human life out the window and strike a death blow to the very foundation of our society, marriage and family. I think this is a good time for sarcasm and use some of the most shallow and uneducated arguments I have heard in recent weeks.... "What do you care about a dentist and a lion? What he chooses to prefer to hunt is none of your business. It doesn't effect you in any manner. You will still get up today and do your thing. It doesn't change anything for you. It is so sad that people have to judge and be prejudice. Obviously he was born this way." I wonder how that argument fits now.
  5. Texas? For some reason assimilating a competent army seems natural. Maybe I off but I wouldn't think by far.
  6. I had the opportunity to see Campbell County play twice in June. I thought they looked very sharp for summer ball. I could see them being a favorite along with Mason this season.
  7. This is profound and ironic as it acknowledges that people make their own gods (little g) that fit there agenda and agrees with their self desires. I only care about Big G and what He says. (not guru :lol2:)
  8. For those who seem to think that this "official" stance and decision by America does not affect everyone, here is a quote by George Washington. It captures my heart on this issue, and for that matter, other issues before this one. I figured I would use his quote since he has more credibility than I do. "....the propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained; and since the preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government are justly considered, perhaps, as deeply, as finally, staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people." - George Washington, First Inaugural Address, New York City, April 30, 1789 Basically, if we throw out God, and we refuse to submit to and honor His order and ways, then we have chosen to come out from under His protection and blessing...and we can no longer expect His divine hand to guide this great country. Rebellion and disobedience to our Almighty creator will absolutely effect us all as a nation. Yes, I believe that the more we have declared our independence from God, the more we have lost our blessing and independence as a nation. William Penn put it this way... "Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants." - William Penn We are deceived if we believe that we, as a nation, can continue to throw God's order and ways back in His face, and NOT be effected in ways we may not even realize. BTW, What I have posted here was my conviction prior to yesterdays SCOTUS decision. This decision is only another step down the rebellion road that America has already been on. Perhaps and hopefully someday, our nation takes a U turn, and gets back on it's initial road of submitting to God and His ways, then we might benefit from the propitious smiles of heaven. If not, American, wealth, strength, opportunities and protection will continue to decay.

  10. You may be aware of this, but just to be sure, this game only has Juniors from this past season. I am not sure of Sacred Hearts roster, but in coming Seniors would have been the only ones eligible. Also, each region only gets 6 players. Certainly that would make the more talent deep regions more competitive.

  12. In the last 3 or 4 years, I have never seen Highlands schedule all of there varsity together during the week of the Ludlow team camp. Usually that week they divide the varsity up and mix them with jv and freshmen, and then schedule different groups on different nights. Basically, not every player has to come every night of the week.

  16. My wife and I have personally been in this situation. Enforcing this policy, on the surface, seems to be a good idea and good for business, however it is counter productive and does more damage than good. My wife taught for several years at a small Christian school. Our 3 children all went there. My wife and I always said that when our children were older (around 8th grade), we would send them to a public school. The reasons are very straightforward. The Christian school she worked at and that my children went to, was incredible in elementary, but very limited in the middle school and high school. These limitations were technology (computer labs with computers that no one uses anymore) science and chemistry labs, scholar programs, clubs, and extracurricular opportunities and activities (yes sports also). Although the school had a very good heart and intentions, they were very limited. When our oldest got to be the age where we thought it was time for her to change, we were informed that the school had this policy; if you teach at the school, your children have to attend. We were faced with a massive decision. In order for us to do what we thought was best for our child, my wife, a very quality educator (imo), would have to leave the school, resigning her job. We asked and pleaded for a change in policy and they did not budge. In short, we left. That same year, another long standing and excellent teacher left for the same reason. And over the years the school has had the same issue causing teachers, who are also parents, leave the school ONLY because of this policy. Here was my main problem with it. Every other family in the school was free to make this decision, and many did. They would have older children in public school and younger children in the private school. My wife was a mother also, in addition to being a teacher. We should have had that same choice without having to lose a job. For the school, all the policy ever got them was good teacher loss and higher turnover rates. Like I said, it was counterproductive. My opinion is simple. Making a policy/rule that is running off your teachers (who are also moms) is never going to cause people to "buy in" and "look good" enough to grow the school. Making a policy is an easy cop out that DOES NOT ultimately work. Instead make the right investments, put priorities on the academic, do more for extracurricular opportunities and YES put more effort into building your sports programs. (that brings people more than where your staff members go to school) Here is the irony of it all. My wife started taking students to state competitions for physics where students won college scholarships. She knew the shortcomings of the school and was trying to do something about it. The school had never had anyone take students on this type of trip and opportunity. She would have continued to do it, however, the policy made her leave. Too bad they were short sighted.
  17. The reason folks are walking away from religion in America is because religion is dead. There is no life in it. In fact, I would say it is a step in the right direction to give up on a religious, dead church, and walk away from it. If a church has turned into nothing but a self help, self righteous, self centered institution, then it offers nothing more than any other religion around the world offers. Pick your flavor and let it be about your self, your good effort, your rule keeping, and you trying to do whatever your religion says do. When this happens, it is no surprise that people eventually become disillusioned, from leadership on down. They become disillusioned because quite frankly, what they are being dealt in a religious, self help message, has no power, no hope and no life. It wears you out. On the other hand, when someone has a heart felt encounter with the love of God through Jesus Christ, this is not religion. It is a heart change. It is a miracle. It is an indwelling of God's spirit. It is being filled with the love and peace of God. You are a new creation by virtue of a new Person taking up residency in your Spirit. You now have a relationship...and a new "want to" in your heart. It is no longer a dead obligation to keep or a set of religious rules to follow. When this happens, there is NO walking away. In fact, you can't even in the face of being misunderstood, or even persecuted. It is not always easy to see, but there is a enormous difference between the hopelessness of keeping a religion and the miracle of Christ keeping you (Christ in you). One will always lead to disillusionment, the other will always lead to life!
  18. I believe the games are on June 7th at Holy Cross. Junior game - 5:00pm Senior game - 6:30pm I do not know the rosters.
  19. An evolution question in honor of mom's on mothers day. If evolution is for real, why do mom's still only have two hands? Just wondering. :idunno:
  20. Congrats to None from the 10th region for getting an honorable mention. :lol2: What is up with that? Why would you just put "none"? There are some pretty good ball players in the 10th that would have been real easy to put in the HM spot. Or maybe that would require a little effort. :idunno:
