  1. Some folks on here never cease to amaze me. Please remember story time. The seeds you sow in your garden will be the fruit you get someday.
  2. I got ya...I was only wondering cause the timing of it struck me a little funny that's all. I do hope your wrong though on the Simon/Shelby thing!
  3. First off, yes, Anderson won the 8th last year. They also had McKee (Morehead St) in addition to Cann. After watching them last night, no they are not the same team as last year for sure, but they are scrappy and don't quit. I would say they have a shot. Why not? After how they snuck through last night, geez, anything can happen. And they beat Shelby once this year proving they can beat them if they ended up meeting them in the final. They are two games away....which is close and very, very far away at the same time. I am sure right now, all they are worried about is WV.
  4. I can't help but snicker a little. You are probably correct, but I can't help but wonder if you felt the same way yesterday morning.
  5. Congratulations to Gallatin County on a great season. They have nothing to hang their heads about! They still achieved more this year than what most thought they would! Also congrats to Senior Hannah Dossett on a tremendous career. I mean this as a compliment...as a WV fan, I am sure glad we will no longer have to contend with her. Heckuva athlete! Congrats to WV on finding a way to win and advance. It is never going to look pretty or easy against a team that knows you so well and is determined to make things tough, but as a team, they got it done.
  6. Congrats to Highlands on advancing! It is never an easy win over Boone teams in regional play.
  7. Tough to rank Walton, Gallatin and Trimble against each other. Gallatin and Walton split one a piece head to head. Trimble and Walton split one a piece head to head. Trimble beat Gallatin twice. You can't really use records because Walton has played a bit more difficult schedule than either one. At this point, rankings are out the window anyway. It will be interesting to see where Anderson fits in with these three as they have not played any of them this season.
  8. Well, here's hoping for enough broadband! :thumb: You all do a great job!
  9. I would have to agree with all the above. When I think of 5th region, obviously I think of Etown, as everyone does right now. However, I can't help but notice that the records of four other teams in that region is pretty stinkin' good. Wow!
  10. Any of the four could come out of the top group. Likely, it will come down to Simon and Shelby on the bottom group. I am sure Shelby will be looking forward to that rematch. Obviously they are not the same team they were in their game one loss to SK.
  11. blind draw...like it is every year. District champ plays a district runner up. Teams from the same district are put on opposite sides.
  12. Wow! The Ryle vs Holmes first round game is crazy. That will definitely be the most anticipated and hyped of the first round match ups. After all the season and hype, could it be that Holmes is done in round 1 of regionals? Ryle is capable of making that happen.
  13. I am not sure what the examples given is supposed to imply if anything at all, however all in all, what you are stating is correct. Adjust as best you can, and don't complain about the officiating. To prove your point, I thought Walton adjusted very well to SK's "aggressiveness" and made a nice run in the third quarter taking the lead at one point.
  14. Relax champ. The only folks I accused of doing anything wrong was the officials for not officiating stuff that crosses the line. That is there job.
  15. Absolutely agree with the two bolded points. Rodgers deserves some props! Great couple of games. And you nailed it on the stall thing. Those were my thoughts exactly.
  16. A few random thoughts about the game.... The Bearcats really, really missed DeZarn. She would have made a big difference defensively, for needed depth, and for further options on offense. Simon Kenton did a great job limiting Walton's Alie Mills 3 point threat. Bosse is a get after it player. Love her effort and her quickness. And she has improved her offensive game tremendously. She deserves credit for these things. But there is no way I am sticking my head in the sand, and not giving her credit for other characteristics. She also has figured out how to throw people down, take kids out of games, throw "extra" knees, shoves, hands and other miscellaneous assaults without getting caught. Hats off to her. If you can get away with it and it helps your team, why not? I don't have a problem with her, I have a problem with officials that don't officiate it. Ally Neace had a very nice game. Congrats to her on the MVP. Sometimes officials call games tight and you get to the free throw line easier. Sometimes they let things go. This game happen to be more on the "let things go side". I think this "type of game" benefited SK for sure. Walton would have benefited from a "tighter" called game. They shoot free throws really well, so getting to the line more would have helped them. Walton playing mostly zone would not have been hurt by a tighter called game as much as SK in their "aggressive" man to man. They were able to push the limits with reach ins, hand checks and contact, and make things very difficult for Walton at times. THIS IS NOT A REF COMPLAINT! You have to be able to play through the contact when it is being allowed and find a way to win. It is only stating an observation that SK is good, but even better if the game called "loose". Simpson was huge for the Bearcats. She is my best All Region player that didn't make all region! Hitting big threes, and rebounding like a freak. Love her game! Ison had a great game as well. Scmiade was working her tail off guarding her, SK was crowding her, and she took some thumps, but she kept on going. Love the fight in that kid.
  17. Congrats to these girls and to both teams.
  18. The words "last night" threw me off for a second. Thought I lost a day.
  19. No she did not. One referee saw the incident, seemed as if he was surprised by it, shook his head about it. When play stopped for a free throw, the same referee went to her to say something. That was it. No T.
  20. And the entertainment keeps on coming :lol2:
  21. Like I said, your opinion. You can think it was stupid if you want to. I don't think I need to trust you on this. It is just your opinion. I'm cool with mine.
  22. No doubt. Now that I think about it, there is some truth to that. It probably doesn't help when folks jump right in with "stupid" and "5 bad eggs". :ohbrother:
  23. Your memory is a little off. A SK player and a Walton player sat out the second SK Walton game last year. This was an agreement between schools as each school took responsibility for their player. The Walton player sat out on the bench watching the game, the SK player sat out the game home at sick because they were ill, but still sat out. Neither were technically "suspended". And the last couple of sentences I can't touch. I don't think my mind can get down that low.
  24. You are entitled to your opinion and I can respect it. I do however completely disagree with it. It was not stupid. It was discipline. Your down 4. There is a entire qtr left. Don't panic. Stick to the defensive plan that has worked so far. That was not what lost the game. Not at all. Walton's momentum you are speaking of was already lost at that point. Walton had lost the lead, and was now down 4. We will never know, but perhaps it was brilliant as it may have kept Walton from going down further. If you are wanting to stay close, and have a chance down the stretch to make some late plays and get the win, perhaps what SK did was actually helpful to Walton. So I can't necessarily agree with stupid. I see it completely different. To abandon your defense that had been keeping you in it, to press the tempo and give SK a chance to stretch their lead further when there was a TON of time left...that would have been stupid.
