At least teams know they most raise their level of play or they have a slim chance of competing for the title. Some teams just want to get mentioned being in the top 10 or top 5 and they have had a successfull season.
I think what he is saying is Mayfield / Beechwood are always mentioned or are playing in the state title game. I don't see this changing anytime soon. Mayfield is very close to being a 2A school and if some of those Graves County kids start comming in I can see them moving up. For the foreseeable future I believe Mayfield is in the drivers seat.
Like I have said many times before , BW would not have had as many titles as they do if MF and DV had not played "up". Some but not all. Sure BW has more titles but as long as MF gets it's share I'm all right with that.
I don't agree with some who say BW loses its luster if they don't win this years title because I believe these things go in spurts. After next year it will interesting to see how MF plays without Jackson and some of the others. We can all put different slants on the two programs and mix it up to any concoction.
Micah ran down J D Harmon of PT. Saved a TD, they settled for a field goal. Louis Love is very fast plus William Higginson was timed 4.5 in the forty at U of L this summer.
I remember 2 yrs ago when BW came to town I asked a fan before the game what he thought and he said BW was faster and should win. I know you're not say who will win but you may have 2 fast guys while we got 7 or 8. I hope your QB comes back, no excuses either way.
The bad thing about 1A ball is that most teams cannot overcome injuries to more than a few players players. QB's are especially bad. Maybe things will work out for him.
Fort Mitchell is a nice place , my sister used to live over there after she got married. I used to know Greater Cincy pretty well in my day. Anderson won a state championship a few yrs ago plus they had a runnerup. The Redskins are pretty mediocre this season but I bet they could beat most teams in NKY.
Farming, small business, we have USEC over in Paducah, we have the Calvert City plants, Murray State is close by. Mayfield/Graves County has a pop. of about 40,000. We are small but not tiny. FYI, I am a graduate of Anderson High School in Cincinnati.
