  1. Padgett 80 yard TD pass to Eberhard. 7-0 Conner.
  2. If this game is played in the rain, as is being forecasted, does that help or hurt either team? Both teams play on grass fields at their home stadiums.
  3. Conner will be without senior Sam Driggers. He, unfortunately, broke his fibula in the Ryle game. Big loss for the Cougars, as he is done for the year. Hope he has a quick and full recovery.
  4. Ryle survives shootout with Conner
  5. Conner enters District play game riding a 5-game winning streak. Ryle is coming off their first loss of the season in a hard fought game against Cooper. Thoughts and insights?
  6. I'm fine with SK and Campbell being in the same district with the 4 Boone Co schools making it a 6 team district, top 4 qualify for the playoffs. But, to not have the 4 Boone Schools all in the same district makes no sense. They are all going to play each other anyway.
  7. Put Boone, Ryle, Conner, and Cooper in the same District, just as they are in all the other sports. There's no reason those 4 county schools shouldn't be aligned. Figure the rest out from there.
  8. Did you really spell Conner wrong, Clyde??
  9. Conner quarterback throws five touchdown passes in team?s fifth straight win | NKyTribune
  10. Good to see Tanner Nyers get involved for the Cougars. Can be a difference maker. Padgett 21-28. 266 yards passing. 42 yds rushing on 7 carries. 5 TD passes.
  11. This sounds more feasible and familiar from what I heard months ago when the game was moved.
  12. That game is being played at a Kenton County school, and I believe their policies differ from that of Campbell, and certainly Boone counties.
  13. I think it has more to do with Boone (and Campbell) County schools having no school tomorrow.
  14. I expect a strong effort from Conner. It hasn't been their style this season to win big, so perhaps a return to Hebron will change that. They are returning home after playing, and winning, 4 straight road games. Should be a great Homecoming crowd. Of note, this game is being played Thursday evening at 7 pm. If you haven't seen either team this would be a good opportunity to do so.
  15. A little bit of both. Conner definitely started with good field position, usually around the 50, especially the 2H. Credit their D and special teams. However, the Conner offense consistently drove the ball down to the 10 yard line where they turned it over on downs all evening. The wind and rain limited any realistic FG opportunities.
  16. Strange game. Weather was absolutely a factor. Agree with the earlier comment that both coaches were a little liberal in the passing game under the conditions. Fumbles and mishandles from both teams all evening. Conner D was stellar, as the shutout attests. Lloyd did not cross the 50 the entire 2h until their final drive. Conner was in the red zone all game, just couldn't punch it in. Their score was a bit lucky, on a tipped ball in the end zone. Warwick was in the right place at the right time. Impressed with Lloyds D line. As mentioned, were put in a tough spot all night long on a short field and did not break. Conner moves to 5-1. Very sorry to hear about #2 from Lloyd losing his mother this week. Cougar thoughts and prayers out to the young man and his family.
  17. Because they are 5-1 with 3 victories over NKY Top 10 teams.
  18. A lot of folks picking against the Cougars again. I think an opportunistic defense and a diverse offense is too much for the Jugs. 28-13 Conner.
  19. The Scott and NCC games have been mentioned as "measuring stick" games for Conner, and they are 2-0 in those games. Conner is solid and having a nice season, but still needs to improve in all areas to compete with and beat Ryle and Cooper, IMO.
  20. Sam Driggers did not play last night for Conner due to concussion protocol. Hope to see him back under center next week.
  21. Irregardless of class, very nice win for Conner, who many predicted (on this site) would lose this game.
