I feel ya Mexitucky! I'm in the same boat. My oldest is loving the school and is already wearing Highlands stuff as a fifth grader. I took him to the game last Friday and on the way home he couldn't stop talking about Highlands winning. I will always be a Bred but that's the way it goes.

Mustang, I agree with the first part of the post, numbers do play a big part, especially in football. As far as middle school kids thinking long term and seeing the big picture, well it's not going to happen. They see 58-0! Unfortunately some parents are seeing that also and in your circle that might not be coming out of their mouths but in other circles they sometimes do. Academics and other sports they are very similar but if you have a decent football player ofcourse looking at 4 years of getting pounded or 4 years of competing for a state title will be part of the conversation.

Well last year their was a 2 loss team playing an undefeated and the final was 42-0 so I don't think the undefeated holds much water. In fairness though I haven't seen Glasgow play unlike last year, where I was able to see both play prior. Last year I felt it was easy to see what the outcome would be. I hope it's a good game cuz I'm driving a long way to see it. Good luck to HC players and fans.

Not an HC fan but you need to look at the caliber of the teams they lost to, no duds in there.

I don't what's rude about but feel free to throw out some scores. I know some of the HC fans didn't like me talking about coaching but that was the biggest difference from the late 90's going into to 2000. Dave Schneider took over as offensive coordinator and Dan Wagner on the defensive side. The athletes have always been there.

I was on the HC/Owen Co. Thread saying HC was going to win big. This is the game that is the focus. In my eyes, I liked Mcnicks D a whole lot better than the HC D. I think Mcnick wins head to head to head but still doesn't matter cuz their is only one road to the state championship and doesn't go through Anderson township or Dayton. Enough of this let's play!

I agree with that. Newcath has to beat HC to advance, I understand that but I think the rivalry will be felt more from the Newcath side once the Newcath side feels its a serious threat. That will be when HC wins a regional game. Could it be Friday, sure I think HC has a decent team and NCC is not the team they were last year but still a better team. I think they proved that in the first game. In the first half Newcaths d-line overpursued fuller and let him get out in the open he exploited it. Second half they controlled their rush and didn't let him out. That was my non expert opinion but what do I know I'm just a BGPs junky!

Pounded? Winning consistently is different than pounded. BW never hung 56 on a newcath Team or won by 5 Tds that I know of.

What is at stake is what is most important indeed! Is the UK/TENN game more exciting for UK fans or TENN fans? UK fans! Ofcourse you hate the horn...it goes off when Newcath scores! Just like we hated the canon!

I think without seeing the teams left it still typically is the case. Film on O-Cath showed a good offense but it was the teams they played (Danville and Murray) that were questionable. When the two teams took the field in the state finals it was evident that O-Cath was going to have trouble. The starting QB seemed to be 5'6. Still you need to respect that they are there and play the game.

Any sports fan on the planet would disagree if they attended NCC vs. BW and NCC vs. HC. The atmosphere wasn't close. I understand your point but in reality it's not there.

I know I would and I don't know why anyone wouldn't.
