  1. Athletes publicly represent the school. Their names are in the news, for good reasons and bad. If the school wants to help insure that the people who represent them are not on drugs, then I'm ok with it.
  2. what is the name of the documentary. I tried to find it by looking through titles. I need to do a search.
  3. Solid choice. Congrats to Bellevue and coach Woody!
  4. I am not a fan of pit bulls. I know there will be a lot of people on here that will defend them because not all pit bulls bite people or show aggression. Heck poodles are more likely to bite. The issue is the damage that is done. Pit bulls do not bite and let go and with their size and strength...whew!. They dont stop until they decide too. That separates them from most other breeds.
  5. I'm glad yo hear the victim and family are doing fine, in spite of your criticism that these posts are somehow going to cause them trouble.
  6. What a majestic looking bird. Great fisher too! Fish parts all over the nest. I can't imagine it smells to good up there.
  7. I talk because I can. I am a member of a discussion board. As I said in my previous post, this is social media. If you don't like it, don't read it! 51-5
  8. Boy, there are some whiney adults here on BGP. In whiney voice... "Please stop talking about it" "you don't know the facts" "the kid doesn't need any more attention brought to him (presumably because of BGP). Bullying has gone on since Cain killed Abel. This is the age of social media. If you don't like what is being said, state your opinion and move on instead of getting butt hurt about it, or quit reading this thread. The thread with the poll shows that most people disagree with the punishment given out 45-4. There you go. The social conscience of NKY agrees that this behavior is not acceptable on any level and should be addressed with the same malice that the Dirty Bird 5 displayed.

  10. It was classy. Thanks! I guess getting urine sprayed/poured/splashed is common place in Ft Thomas locker rooms. A former football star said much worse has happened. If that is true, then what does "much worse" mean? Can you explain that comment?
  11. Google anyone's name and add Facebook or twitter and odds are you will find their account.
  12. The former football player who is now at Georgetown says on Twitter that is not the worst thing to happen in the locker rooms. I'm guessing he is talking about Highlands since that is where he went. So exactly what is the worst thing to happen in a Highlands locker room? Sodomy? Just asking. Remember, this came from a recent Highland grad.
  13. Bench...but outing a gay player and chasing a bus and the coach doesn't get fired is egregious? That's a mixed messages!
  14. Jack, you really want to put this to bed, dont you?!
  15. If this were a court of law instead of a court of public opinion, I would be more concerned with how the urine was dispersed. For here, it's semantics.
  16. the one fact nobody disputes is that urine was sprayed on another player.
  17. Do you agree with the reported punishment for the Dirty bird urine incident? No need to post here. There are already two threads on the subject. I just wanted to see if people agree with the reported punishment. **votes are public
  18. There are no privacy issues when it comes to social media. While the school may not be allowed to come out say it, all it takes is for someone to see the kids at school or the games and do the math. No secret there.
  19. The only way you can say it's over is if you are the parent. The school may have ruled but that does not mean the parent lets it go. They could keep it alive for a little while longer in the media or contact a lawyer and file a civil suit.
  20. Ok, we have the schools response to "Pee-gate", but I'm curious to know how the parents of the victim respond. Are they satisfied with the punishment? Do they take the issue to an attorney? If I were the parent, I don't think I would be happy with what's being reported. IMO, 5 days from school and dismissed from the team for the rest of the season. For me, it's not about retribution. It's to teach these fools that actions have consequences.
  21. For a school to determine bullying, it has to meet three criteria: A. Repeated behaviors (doesn't have to be the same behavior) B. Happen over a period of time ( period of time is not defined, but but if documented or adressed by a person of authority, then the time period can be very short) C. Have a demonstration of power over somebody. So, the questions that need answered are: A. Has there been issues between these athletes before? B. How long has these behaviors been going on? C. Did Jeremy know of any issues prior? If this event doesn't fulfill these requirements, it is NOT bullying by school standards. It can be assault or harassment. This will take time to investigate thoroughly.
  22. This goes beyond just getting urine sprayed on you. What about the ridicule the victim will recieve? I'm sure other kids will come up with some duet nick name, like Mr. Peabody. What about the victim being blamed for the other kids getting in trouble? I'm sure the perps have friends and will now call gfd victim a snitch. This event will go on for a very long time for the victim.
