I believe both are good players but overall Teegarden is the best player in NKY. Today was a good example, Boone pitched to Tiberi each at bat but Holy Cross walked Teegarden 3 times, two intentional and the other might as well been intentional the way the pitches were thrown.( I think this shows the respect teams have for Teegarden ) The one time he did get a pitch close enough to hit he lined it into right center for a double. Just my MO, only time will tell who gets the awards at the end, good luck to all the players.

I think Doug Teegarden got his skills from his grandfather on his mothers side of the family!!!! (then again maybe not all his skills)

Don't you think some of the excitement of the home run will be missed? I understand what you are saying about playing all the game, bunts, defense, pitching etc, but watching the kids score runs and the look on there faces when they hit one will be missed. I have watched a couple of games so far this year and have seen two bats break in the handle area, just completely snap and fly into the fence and stands. I will be watching the games even if they use tree limbs.

Boone and St Henry played to a 1-1 tie, game called due to darkness. I know it's early in the season but Boone Co. did not look good at all. They left so many runners on base, they run the bases terrible, they let balls fall that should have been caught and they could not bunt when needed. Coach Huff was very upset at the end and he should have been. The pitching for Boone was not bad as three different pitchers threw. Boone will get better as the season goes on but they need to do a gut check now as to how bad they want to play and win. The new bats will make a hugh difference this year in hits, home runs and runs scored. They will also take a lot of fun out of the game IMO. I believe the new bats are a over reaction (from one extreme to another). Come on Boone, you can do a lot better !!

Teegarden will pitch this year.

Can not think of any coach who would not like to have Teegarden on the mound for them, (even CCH).

Do not know what hja1224 has heard but I believe he has to earn the job at EKU just like eveyone else. I agree, let's play this year first next year will take care of its self.

I do not know why coach Huff would not use one of the best pitchers (if not the best) in the region. I know Teegarden is a everyday player at short or second and a very good one at that, but I believe he should pitch. Boone should have a very strong pitching staff this year as long as everyone is healthy. I look for Teegarden to pitch, WHY NOT!

Boone County senior Doug Teegarden signed papers today to play baseball at Eastern Ky. Doug has worked very hard to get to this point and has made everyone very proud of what he has done. He will continue to work hard for this year and to get himself ready for the next level. Very proud of you Doug!!!

He's going to get a great lesson in life at a very young age. He will be able to handle it, plus he has some inside knowledge to help him. Good luck Jackson, hope to see you play at the "big" level. (A couple of free tickets would be nice.)

I never said I was upset and I know it's their rule and their tournment, I just don't care for it at any time. I wasn't trying to start a fight. I was just making more of a statement then a question but thank you once again for the rules of the game.

Roosters lost this afternnon 11-6 in the semi-finals of the Triple PLay World Series. After giving up 9 runs in the bottom of the first the game was called in the 5th due to game time limit. Why is there a time limit for the semi-finals? The season is over for Roosters, so boys enjoy the last part of your vacation as good ole school will start again in a few weeks. Enjoyed watching you guys play and look forward to watching a lot of you next spring when high school ball starts. Go Boone County!

Roosters lost Saturday 6-2 to team from Indiana. Roosters were seeded #8 and played the #1 seed this morning and won 11-0. Roosters will play again today at 1:30 at UC.

Roosters is 3-0 in the Triple PLay World Series being played here in Northern Ky and Cincinnati. Will play again Saturday at UC (Marge Schott Field) at 1:30. Good ball games despite the heat.

Boone Counties Doug Teegarden named Most outstanding player by the NKAC for division 1. Also named to the Northern Kentucky coaches all-star team as second baseman and pitcher, and voted player of the year for division 1 teams. (Enquirer 7/5/11) Very proud of you Doug and all the hard work you have done, keep up the hard work and it will payoff in the future.

Schedule says Sandlot World Series, Nashville Tenn,LIpscomb/Trevecca JUly 13 thru 17th. Roosters going to Wheeling WV this weekend to play in the Beast of the East tournment, good luck !! Just returned from watching Roosters get beat 7-5 by Flash baseball team, lots of misplays in the game on both sides.

Will the East/West junior allstar games in Lexington Tuesday night be aired by anyone? I know they play at UK at 4 and 7 pm but I do not know if ayone plans on telecasting the games, if anyone knows would you please provide the information.
