  1. Stand corrected. . . From post game grumbles, a lot of fans thought there was another Ryle T/O left. So much for that complaint!
  2. Seems to be a theme around the state. Lot's of posts from other regions noting lack of sportsmanship from runner up teams. Sign of the times? Get on 'em coaches and parents! Congrats to Mercy!
  3. Wow! What a shock for the Bulldogs! I can't imagine how devastatingly disappointing that is for those seniors! No excuse for bad behavior from a couple of them; one would think they had mastered sportsmanship in elementary b-ball. But, let's not pile on to the entire school! I've seen lots of bad behavior in basketball - from little kids to seasoned coaches; inner city teams to elite private schools. Fans too! Congrats to Holmes for a great run! Newport, stay on fire! It is great to see a team and fans that are really excited about playing the big game!
  4. Didn't seem to make a huge difference in the 9th region games I saw. Seemed to be a few poor calls on both sides. Some tikky tack, some non calls for blatent stuff. Actually seemed a bit better than our 9th region refs. Kinda like the idea of being "more neutral", but I am not sure if it really matters.
  5. Looks like the Boone / Ryle rivalry will be going strong for some time. Looking forward to 2 more years of the Moss/Crittendon match up. Lots of fun watching both teams. Great job by all the girls!
  6. Sandlin certainly has done a terrific job guarding Jump - all three Boone/Ryle games. Jump gets very view looks at her signiture 3's with Sandlin on her. Jump scored 17 and 13 against NCC and St H, most of that from treys. I think only 2 points for her today.
  7. Ryle was leading most of game, but just. Tied at half. Ryle up by 1 or 2 at 1st and 3rd. Ryle up by 5 at one point, Boone up by 5 near the end. Moss with 18 of 32 points for Boone. Crittendon and Jump in foul trouble early. Ryle had several chances to tie or hit 3 at end, but couldn't get the ball in the basket. Very, very tough loss for Ryle - Congrats Boone!
  8. Was just looking at points. . . Of course you are right - looks like she played another terrific game! Ugly game or not! Congrats to both teams for great seasons! May be hard for Raiders not to be looking past St H for another go at Boone.
  9. Thanks! Looks like Sandfoss had the expected good game, but not Crittendon. Maybe NCC had trouble stopping Jump's 3's. . .
  10. Looks like a cake walk to the Championship game for Boone. Sorry NDA, Villa, Bellvue.
  11. Hats off to those folks! Thanks for doing a thankless job! :notworthy: (But I may feel different if you blow a call against my favorite team next week! Just saying. . .)
  12. Referree calls often seemed biased to a passionate fan - and sometimes the calls really are terrible and occasionally a bit one sided. But that's the game! Moss scored 24 of her 29 from her own comfort zone. So hard to stop her there! Ryle did better with that in the second half. Try again next week! No one can take anything from Moss's game. Over 70% of Boone's points last night! Such a strong player for a sophomore! (Ditto for Crittendon!) Hard to believe both of those young ladies showed up the same day at Ryle as freshman!
  13. Are these the lucky teams playing in the girls 9th region next week? Bellevue, St Henry, Villa, Holy Cross, Notre Dame, NCC, Ryle and Boone
  14. Painful for Ryle to have Crittendon on bench for so long. Moss with 29 of Boone's 42 points.
  15. Another close one, Boone comes out on top by 1 point.
