Give me a sawbuck on NCC. LOL. I think with the line that high you'd probably get more action on Ryle though.

Having a different opinion still doesn't make it right NCC is not that much bigger than dayton or bellevue. And newport is probably bigger. The All A is for the smaller schools. NCC has to play Ryle tonite and they are 4-5x the size of NCC. The tournament is not so everybody should get to play but to determine a champion. If you are in the tournament you should at least feel like if things workout right and we play our game we have a chance. Did the girls of Bellevue and the parents feel that way last night or were they there thinking well at least we got to play at BOK. My nephews played football at Bellevue and I have firsthand knowlege of th problems that come with supporting a child in those programs. but we do our best and hope they have a few bright moments in their athletic careers. That is all any of us are trying to do and Bellevue qualified under the current system but if the rest of the state works under a different system it doesn't make it fair to the other teams inour district that have a chance.

Olivia Huber runs pt for the Jv team and they have been very sucessful the last two yrs and all the of the Jr guards that start have experience running the team when Courtny is out.

Surprised people are being very quiet on this one still Thought by game day people would have more to say. The silence might be from the lack of firsthand knowlege of eachother. everyhing we know about eachother is thru word of mouth. I guess sometimes silence is golden.

The girls don't have a vote and I am sure they played their best. However the system needs to be fixed. 42 pt blowouts are not what should be happening at this stage of the game if possible. The girls from BHS will certainly remember playing at BOK the rest of their lives. That doesn't make this right though. The best teams in the district should advance. So in the end the best team moves on to Diddle. Teams getting free passes early in the tournament will help them keep their legs late in the tournament. That shouldn't happen. I'm sure that if the people of Bellevue thought their team had even a snowballs chance they would have turned out in droves, but the out come was predetermined. The people that make these decisions need to look at this and make it right for future athletes. I looked at other scores from around the area 8th, 10th and & 7th regions and couldn't find another score like this. Not that they were all nail biters but at least somewhat competitve. Good luck to Bellevue in the future and I hope soon they will get into the tounament and reall make some noise.

Very sorry to hear about the young lady from Ryle that passed away this weekend. I know she was probably friends with several of the girls on the team. My heart goes out to them at this time. It is things like this that let you know how unimportant the winner of a basketball game is.

We'll never know if the outcome would be the same or not. She was playing some of the best ball I've ever seen her play at the time.But saying her being at full strength would have been a benefit to Boone makes no sense. Boone had to adjust to a diiferent style possibly, Ncc had to adjust their style also and without their best player able to do what she was use to. Would Ncc have been worse off if JC was hurt because we would have had to adjust to a different style from Boone ? Boone could not have won without her being healthy, she took over late. However It really doesn't matter what happened last year, I was just trying to make the point,I hope everyone stays healthy so we don't have to wonder what if. I have heard the ballhandling statement before, hopefully we can wear her down and take over late.

You should have seen the first NCC HHS game. Very few pts scored, but some terrific defensive intesity and one great finish.NCC came back from 11 pts down in the 4th and won the game on a steal and a layup by sandfoss with 3 seconds remaining. The 2nd game was good but not as good NCC took control late int the 3rd and carried the momentum into th 4th. But not before HHS took a 5 pt lead early in the 3rd after scoring th first 10 points of the of the second half.

Ncc and Boone still seem to be the hottest teams. Boone beat their arch rival twice the last two wks. Ncc beat HHS in the 36th dist. Ncc hasn't lost since Dec 18th nineteen straight. Boone hasn't lost since Dec 30th fifteen straight. In the last 10 games the only team to beat Ryle has been Boone in 2 tight games.I know the last few wks NDA has started to turn it on also, either winning the games or being very competitive against teams most would call them big underdogs.

I hope you've got everthing right except the final. Boone beate us in the final last year and I think both teams are even better this year. But we have a long way to go before we talk rematch. Ryle is very tough. Boone might get more of a fight from NDA than they think. IT would take a big time effort and Boone would have to be off but first hand I've seen what NDA can do if a team takes them to lightly. And Boone has shown the ability to not show up (St Henry) if they feel to confident. Hope all the girls stay healthy this year so it can be decided on the court. NCC would have loved to have had a healthy Sandfoss in last years final. Good luck to all the girls this wk, maybe a little less luck to Ryle on tuesday.

I don't Know what the rankings are now but back mid january 4 teams from the 9th were ranked in the top 20. Newport Central Catholic and Boone top 10 Ryle and Highlands 11 thru 20.

Nothing wrong with academics first. The girls at VMA should be proud of themselves. The chance to compete at this level I'm sure will be quite an experience for them. It sounds like you are very torn about this game. Good luck to both teams. I still believe that a tougher schedule can help anyone, but I do see your point.

I'm not trying to start anything and I"m not sure of my numbers. But the larger schools in the area(Boone, Ryle, Holmes ) as I understand it are about 3to4x as lrge as NCC and they compete with the larger Schools. I' don't think the poster is saying VMA should play to many schools that size but just toughen up the schedule a little. Playing tougher cometition is the only way to get better and IMO the kids always feel better if they compete with good teams. Win or loose, as long as the can be competitive. The kids might start out getting beat badly but if they work at it they might even pull off some big upsets in march. does anyone no the size of the schools I mentioned including NCC.

Might have been a slight overstatement, to say never. And I do believe the players will decide the game since the coaches can't score pts. if they did I would like Ron over Nell though.

Yes Boone won by I believe 9, not sure. They led by 3 with 2 minutes to go and Tabor got an offensive rebound and landed on someones foot and fell down. called for traveling. Boone came down and scored. From that point on it was fouling and JC making free throws. Sandfoss played with her hand broken and in a makeshift soft cast.

I hate seeing teams change their style after they build a lead. They start the game trying to win and finish it trying not to lose. HHS did that against NCC and lost an 11 pt lead in the 4th quarter. Coaches need to have faith in their players to finish what they start

NCC has yet to play their very best. Nell has dominated 9th region because she has never had to deal with a coach that she couldn't intimidate. Ron has the athletes and the knowledge.

I might be biased, but I see the pressure getting to Ryle and NCC winning something like 45-40. NCC is 5 starters are 2 Srs 3 Jrs very seasoned team.

Court gets her share of all tourney teams and quite a few MVPs. She was MVP of the "ALL A" state tourney and averaged 8pts. Some people are intelligent enough to know what wins games and Court bring that to every game. I'm sure she was happy for her other teammates that got recognized.

Last years team wasn't the same team. This team is much quicker and they run a totally different defense. Also Tabor's shooting hand was injured last year and could not rebound catch or shoot effectively. I would imagine the game will be an up tempo style like you want.

Can't imagine a coach going out of his way to see teams at the bottom of the region, even if they are playing a contender. He can't get a true read on the good team and isn't worried about the other team. His time would be better served watching video of contenders.
