  1. I agree the argument should be against Fairview, not Raceland, maybe even Pikeville, most likely Pikeville. They've played a strong schedule but they also have 4 losses with 3 of those being by , 18, 34, 49 and 56 pts, so, granted, they were against bigger and better teams, they also weren't very competitive and are riding the shirttails of a win against an Allen Central team who came in with a good record, but, also, had played nobody.
  2. Bellevue is probably the only team not on there that may should be, but, if they were, it would be in the 8-10 range, at best. You may could make an argument for Allen Central, Campbellsville and Williamsburg, but, not much of one... I'm not really sold on Holy Cross either, maybe 9th ot 10th, with Raceland and Fairview ahead of them...
  3. IMO, they should have dropped more than just to #4..Maybe in the 7-9 range..
  4. I think you can the same about the majority of the better teams...They get a big lead by half time and then maybe play the 1st series in the 2nd and then it's JV and freshman the majority of the rest of the game and more times than not, the 2nd and 3rd units will give up a score or 2...Crittenden certainly isn't unique in that scenario...
  5. I would guess Lex Caths overall schedule is alot tougher, too, with teams like St X, Cov Cath, LCA, Lone Oak, Boyle Co...Besides the Lex Cath win, Lone Oaks next best win at home against 2a Green Co..
  6. 7 - Trigg Co 5 - Greenwood 3 - Tilghman 2 - Grayson Co 1 - S.Fulton, Tn TB - S.Fulton, Tn
  7. It sounds like more of a talent problem than an attitute problem...Danville will bounce back quickly and be back in the title hunt before long. You can bank on that. Every team, especially the 1a and 2a teams, will occassionally go through a dry spell, rough patch or whatever you wanna call it and be devoid of there usual talent. Mayfield had talent last year, but, poor chemistry, but, they were still down on the talent side a little, as well, with a small Sr class...Beechwood may be going through it this year, too, but, it happens, but, programs like these don't stay down for long...
  8. 5 - GRC 3 - Ballard 3 - Ryle 1 - Grayson Co 1 - Valley 1 - John. Central 1 - Bourbon Co 1 - Apollo 1 - Fleming Co 1 - Greenwood TB - 27
  9. Tn has never had 6 classes...5A has always been there biggest with 2 private classes seperate...However, they did make all these changes this year with districts and playoff format, etc, so, they very well could have went to 6 this yr, like Ky did a few yrs ago... And to the guy saying Tns format hurts there head....Amen brother, amen...
  10. You may be right, but, Beechwood or Mayfield either ain't gonna be a picnic...
  11. No bubbles burst, but this is where I got the info...Look under the schedule under quick facts...It states Division 1, Class AAA, district 5...Maybe this sites wrong, but, that's where I got the info and this is for the current year... 12. Yeah, Conner has 1 blimp on it's radar and that was to SK(certainly not a bad loss), but, it was pretty one-sided...The only hesitation I had with Cov Cath was the Lex Cath loss, who's not nearly as good as they've been the past few yrs.. Although it's not a real bad loss, it still made me hesitate for a minute.. LCA played them alot closer than CC did and from all accounts, outplayed them for the majority of the game, hence the reason I put them in the Top 25 ahead of CC...
  13. I'm not to sure W'Burg beats Fairview, but, I think you're right on the money on everything else.. Considering the winner plays LCA on the road, it probably doesn't matter anyway.. With that final 8, I think you'd have the semi's look like this: Raceland @ LCA Pikeville @ Hazard then Hazard @ LCA and the winner is..... To be continued....:sssh:
  14. Thanks Watusi...From looking at that, looks like the Fairview/Williamsburg game is probably the best of the bunch. That should be a really good game...
  15. Thanks, what about the Pikeville, Hazard districts...Any idea how those 2 will shake out?
  16. I'm not that familiar with the east end of the state in 1a...Could someone who has that knowledge, layout a likely playoff bracket scenario...Who would be playing who and what seedings are most likely? Thanks
  17. Actually the class they play in hasn't changed...What they did was put 1a and 2a and some smaller 3a together, bigger 3a, 4a and 5a together for district purposes only...They then split those districts into there actual classes for the playoffs...In other words, a district game may be with a team in a different class, but, could help you get an atlarge bid... They did this to help geographically and save on some of the long district drives they had...
  18. For those interested, Soddy Daisy is a 3a team, not a 6a team. They are a pretty solid team though. The Bell Co win was an impressive one, regardless of class. SD only had a 3-3 record coming in but 2 of those losses were to undefeated teams and they played them close. Ooltawah(7-0) is a highly ranked 3a team and one of Soddys losses, 21-14. That same Ooltawah team knocked off Franklin, Tn 19-3 and also beat a solid Austin East team. For those of you not familiar with Franklin, that's the same team that destroyed Fern Creek and Christian Co this year, so, the fact Soddy Daisy played Ooltawah that close is impressive. The other loss was to Red Banks(7-0), a Top 5 2a team, 44-30. That same Red Banks team beat an outstanding Boyd Buchanan team a few weeks ago. I know it's hard to compare scores, but, the way Bell Co handled Soddy while that same team fought tooth and nail against some very impressive Tn teams, is saying alot. Just thought I'd throw this info out there to give you an idea about what type competition Soddy was. Great win Bobcats. Way to make Ky proud.
  19. Also, not sure Central doesn't deserve to be as well...There record isn't very good, but, they've played a brutal schedule. The Seneca loss is the one that stood out to me, though and kept them out...
  20. Yeah, I took Conner in consideration. They should probably in there, pending the Ryle game, at least. I just hadn't heard a whole lot of talk about them this yr, but, there record is impressive.
  21. Mayfield plays Crittenden on 10/23, so, one or the other won't end undefeated, plus Murray plays Crittenden the following week, so, at least one of those 2 won't end that way.
  22. If you think about it, Highlands(sizewise) is just a 3a team and they certainly deserve to be where they are...There's just a few of those rare instances where a smaller school can and does compete with the bigger ones. Highlands has proven that and Ft Campbell, although they don't play the caliber teams Highlands does, is another that would be ranked very high, regardless of what class they were in...
  23. All good points Camp..I guess I ranked Ft Campbell that high because of the undefeated record, they've won back to back 2a titles, produces a good # of D1 prospects and this years version appears to be there best yet. I remember alot of people thinking Central was a Top 10 team the past couple of years and they were just a 3a team and lost most of the games they played against the bigger, better teams. To me, Ft Campbell has the type athletes that can compete against the bigger schools. Alcoa, Tn is also a 2a team in Tn and they would be a Top 5 team in any class in Tn. I also see what you're saying about Lex Cath. They did beat Cov Cath though and also LCA and played very competitively with Boyle Co and Lone oak, 2 very good teams. As far as LCA and Mayfield are concerned, you could well be right, but, I feel they could beat those teams also and when you add the entire of body of work, consistency and record, I think they both deserve some recognition. I could have easily thrown several other teams in there, like Mason Co, Central, Allen Co-Scots, Conner, Marion Co, Corbin, Prestonsburg..You could certainly make an argument for any of them...
  24. If I were to rank the state, here's how I'd rank em: 1) Highlands 2) St Xavier 3) Trinity 4) S.Kenton 5) B.Green 6) Ft Campbell 7) Boyle Co 8) J.Hardin 9) Scott Co 10) Bell Co 11) Fern Creek 12) Ryle 13) Male 14) Lone Oak 15) Christian Co 16) Ballard 17) Owensboro 18) Lex Catholic 19) Henry Clay 20) LCA 21) Anderson Co 22) Butler 23) B.Station 24) Mayfield 25) Cov Catholic Thoughts?
