From what I heard from a reliable source, Boyle was pretty dominant yesterday defense giving up only a couple of scores all day, Driver scored pretty much whenever he touched the ball. Pulaski was next showing up well. Glasgow and Rockcastle looked good at times but not as consistent as the other 2.

Boyle heads home from Jabez, after a morning practice today. Heard some good things coming out of practice there, heading home to get ready for the Atherton scrimmage on Friday at 6:00.

Four teams, Boyle , Glasgow, Pulaski and Rockcastle. They practice against each other in controlled situations. I don't think a full game scrimmage is allowed. I think the camp counts as one of their 2 allowed scrimmages.

You are right that Danville would owe Boyle 2 home games in a row if the rivalry is ever renewed. Under the present playoff system it would never make sense for Boyle to schedule a middle of the road 2A team even if they win by a big margin. They would lose too many points under the present RPI system. It would only be an advantage to Danville, even if they lose the game because they would be playing up against a top 4A school. Then the assumption that Danville could just decide they want to resume because they think they can compete one year is just being arrogant and absurd. It will never be up to Danville to decide from now on, but completely Boyle's decision if they ever play. Maybe a JV or Freshman series, but not varsity that I could imagine under the present system.

Jabez. That will be a controlled scrimmage at camp. It is at Jabez during football camp. A controlled scrimmage.

Watched the Rebels practice this week and Intra squad scrimmage this morning. Lots of talent, depth, team speed and so aggressive on defense. Great receivers and a QB that is bigger ,faster more accurate and has the experience of leading the team to a championship during last season as a soph. Should be a fun team to watch, even with one of the toughest schedules in the state.

The Ads should be able to compete in 2A. To get back to the "Glory Days" is probably a stretch. Because of the RPI requirements, scheduling up will be a problem. Since they dropped Boyle from their schedule and with little hope of ever playing again they are pretty much locked in to just where they are beating up on some weaker teams on a good portion of their schedule. Actually 2A is just where they need to be.

Boyle finished 2nd at EKU, losing by 2 pts to Ironton in a game that could have gone either way. Their JV team finished 1st. All in all a very productive Saturday. Now getting ready for some real football.

I saw Glasgow at Boyle for their 7 on 7, I thought they did a good job overall. Appeared to be well coached and knew what they wanted to do plus being very competitive. I along with others there will not be surprised with them being right in the mix in their region. Good luck on your season.

Without the injuries to 3 key players in the playoffs that record could have been28-0 and another championship in 2024.

Yes, he will definitely see the field as well as some other freshmen. Their playing time will be limited because of the existing depth of such talented players on the varsity. Also you have the quarter restrictions and these kids will be playing a freshman and JV schedule with those quarters counting toward the allowed number per week. You will probably see 7 or 8 freshmen practicing with the varsity after the season gets underway. They are that good.

I saw Boyle in their last two conditioning sessions before breaking for dead period. So impressed with their size, speed and depth at every position. Saw the freshmen to be also. 30 + in numbers and the best talent level I have seen at Boyle ever.

The running backs right now are Kain Logan at 5'11" -208, Gavin Johnson 6'1"-190, Adryan Newell 5'10- 145. There is the transfer coming off a surgery that still has a way to go before getting on the field. His name is Lofton. They all have speed and toughness and will see playing time. Each has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and get that extra yardage. Johnson will also split time as a receiver. Also some others that are younger and have grown up during the off season or just moved in. Boyle wiil have a really good freshman class. Maybe one of their best ever, It will be really hard for any freshman to see much playing time on the varsity this year. They will be see plenty of action on both the freshman team and JV's, with occasional spot duty in varsity games. Littlejohn is a special talent with a bright future ahead as do many others in that class.

Rebels looked very impressive in spring practice.

You can add Pendygraft who is 6'5 , 220 with good speed and quickness to that group. He has multiple offers. Plays both ways.

A really nice facility. Because of the width of the track and fan distance from the field, makes harder to watch the game than a normal high school field. Beautiful facility .

Coach Justin Haddix and 3 other coaches conducted a Football Coaches Clinic at the Hyatt in Lexington and had 400 coaches in attendance. Coach Stein from UK was one of the speakers, plus one of Oklahoma's coaches among others.

I agree that Drakeford could really help Boyle in the tourney. If they will keep Driver inside and let him do what he does best, defend and get on the boards. Boyle can beat anyone in district and region on a given night. They also can lose to the same. Need to get everyone well now.

Despite winning at MC Boyle's offense continues to under perform. Don't understand what the new coach is trying to run in the half court. Keeps one of the stronger inside players in the region out beyond the 3 pt line half the time. Driver is not a 3 pt threat but great inside and on the boards. I know this the coach's first head job but he should have figured out by now where his strength and weakness is. Hope he keeps Driver inside and that would also help to open up their 3 pt game which is decent. Boyle plays pretty good defense and can play with about anyone in the region on a given night.

This seems to be a lot of speculation about nothing that Boyle has done. I think the young man you are talking about is recovering from an injury. He moved to Boyle and enrolled in school without the football coaches even being aware. If anyone thinks he is coming here and stepping into some starting position, they are badly fooled. I think this is just something to pass the time for those of us that have too much time on our hands during these winter months.

People move to Boyle for many different reasons. Jobs, school system, football, family connections etc. Don't blame Justin Haddix for being the best football coach in the state of Ky. Kids want to play for him, they want to be on a State Championship team. He won't talk to a kid that is not already enrolled in BCHS. He does more for these kids than more people ever know. Most of the people complaining are just jealous of the success earned thru hard work on his part and his staff , plus the work that the kids put in every day. As a former very successful coach, administrator, I know a special coach when I see one. His detractors need to get to work or get over it. Happy Valentines Day.
