It's my opinion with the name recognition this guy has a better job could have been attained!

Just thought about Buddy Biggs, doesn't his family have strong ties to Holmes? I've always thought if the Mason County job opens up he will make a run for it, could this job get his interest as well?

I would say it's Sullivan, if he wants it though? He has had two head coaching stops, St. Patrick and Cooper, along with two big programs in Holmes and Mason county. It would seem he has paid his dues.

Good hire for Woodford in my opinion, really think Harrison County missed the boat on Scott a couple years back by looking in the rear view and not out the windshield. Think this is only the start to a very promising coaching career!

Timmy is athletic and can do things with the basketball that few his size can at the high school level, that's just granted and for all who make excuses, they are just that excuses! Elliott county and conversely Timmy have played in national tournaments and against the best teams Kentucky has to offer since he has been there so this notion he is a product of weak opponents is absurd. Maybe a youtube of TK sending all the Ballard players shots across the gym up in Sandy Hook two years ago should surface!

I agree it is a total joke! Timmy Knipp is first team all the way and should use his second team selection as fuel on the fire for next season. Hate to admit this but it seems the CJ is a little more in the know regarding mountain basketball than the LHL, or so it seems?

For all who doubts Timmy Knipp look no further than that highlight video to prove that he is the BEST player this state has to offer. I don't want to hear the 16th region excuse, attitude or whatever is thrown at this kid he can flat out play! TK2UK TK2UK TK2UK

I just hope Tim Moore doesn't get it, his values aren't what many would think and that is all I will say. Both other ones seem like they would fit in very good to the job.

Moore is from Morehead so once or if he leaves Maysville his ties will probably end. Tim Moore was Kelly Wells high school coach at Rowan County in the late eighties. Moore and Wells made three trips to the Sweet Sixteen and dominated the region during their time.

Behanan or not, think Mr. Basketball 2011 is a two horse race between Stenzel and Knipp! Stenzel being in Central Kentucky gives him a vote advantage but think Knipp gets the award in the end by possibly taking all the mountain votes and "stealing" some of Stenzel's base votes.

Publicity wise Elliott County basketball has to be right in this very moment in the top ten programs in the state for what's been accomplished the last five years, so Timmy getting those votes shouldn't surprise. As far as Behanen goes think you're dead wrong, Timmy Knipp is by far the better talent! Hearing in some circles Knipp is getting Gordon Hayward comparisons.

Glad to see Timmy Knipp getting the respect he deserves! Think I saw a all-state last week were he was listed honorable mention, absolute joke, for what many consider our state's top talent.

I hate to announce that the legendary "Gold Sunrise" will be stepping down from her prestigious position as the moderator at Bluegrasspreps. Chris Lofton is a perfect example of a kid that won it during his junior year. After he won the state championship and was MVP there was no questions that he would win it. Ricardo also won a championship but he wasn't as dominate as Lofton. He had more competition on his own team as others could give arguments tos Pittman being the best player on that team. About Hood there was no way he should of won it, and the only reason he did was because he was going to Kentucky. Walt Allen is another perfect example of a kid that won it during his junior year. If it was just a one season award then it wouldn't only go to seniors. But the award is just for seniors, and you know the voters just do not look at that one season.

If that's the case Walter was does it go to only a senior? That criteria would leave any and all to believe it's a culmination of a career award. I think your mixing Kentucky up with other states that award their Mr. Basketball to the best player of the year not reserving it for only seniors.

It is not a season award it's a career award and that's why I see this being a two-horse race between Knipp and Stenzel for they are the only two who have had a career. Mr. Basketball award winners don't just play two years they play 4-5 as both of the players named have. Stenzel started his legend in 2007 at the foul stripe in a regional final and Knipp started as an eight grader on great teams.

As far as Behanan, I would think you would have to play Kentucky high school basketball more than he has to qualify! Are two years really enough to get an award that highlights a high school career? Like I said before it's Knipp's to lose, would expect him to dominate the mountain votes and maybe even split with the Clark duo in central Kentucky.

I know for a fact Middleton got D1 looks and D1 offers were on the table but he thought Georgetown was a perfect fit. The D1 offers weren't big time but D1 is D1. Georgetown a lot of times is practically a D1 team anyways. In the end I think he made the right decision.

I think you hit the nail on the head with just "slowing" down, especially when he gets into the paint with the ball. How many times this season would he drive at full gear and then sling up a shot on the move? Has to have a strong jump stop then explode up with the ball, needs to add more leg strength to do this on a consistent basis especially late in games. As for Ison and Nickell both need more strength and more confidence in their individual abilities. They're are both capable players but need to believe that themselves. Question for Elliott is, who is their starting two guard?

You could make a case for Elliott having potentially four of the regions top ten players on their roster: Knipp, Nickell and Ison are certain but Fraley was just a sophmore with a huge upside. The question for me is how much better can Timmy Knipp get? At times and spurts this year he was on a different level and with a spring/summer to improve I could see him averaging over 40 a game this year!

I do not think Clark was the most talented team(Scott Co.) but to say they were the deepest is absolutely laughable. Mason Co. had way more depth than Clark.
