  1. I do think it is an issue with our teens. While teenagers have been trying to get alcohol as long as it has been illegal, we do have students who come to games under the influence of alcohol. This is especially true in Jefferson County. Added with the knowledge that after each football game there are numerous Friday night parties where students can get alcoholic beverages--sometimes from parents. Since it is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages, we as adults, should not consume adult beverages in venues that cater to minors--such as high school athletic venues. Just my humble opinion.
  2. Good game Ridge. Looking forward to the game at Male next week.
  3. Another issue is that at many schools in JCPS, students go to games to "walk the track and hang out" rather than watch the game and cheer. Some schools have good student sections (Male, Manual, Butler, PRP, Ballard, Eastern) while others just roam around. For many games, the track has to be closed at the end zones in order to keep students from walking around the track to taunt the other team's fans. If central sites were developed for double or triple headers, this could become a problem with so many kids aimlessly walking around just looking to rile up other people.
  4. I think that we should split up schools alphabetically. 26 Classes (maybe 25 classes). Here are some of the highlight possibilities: Class M: Male vs. Mayfield Final Class B: Bowling Green vs. Boyle County Final Class P: PRP vs. Pikeville Final Class S: St X vs. Simon Kenton Final Class T: Trinity vs. Trigg County Final
  5. Doss led 45-44 with 39.1 left, had a 5 second call. FC's Price scored and Doss missed and fouled with 17.6 to give FC 46-45 lead. FC's Rogers only hits one free throw to make it 47-45. Doss misses at other end, sends FC back to line with 7.2 seconds left. price hits both for final margin.
  6. Final from Valley. Fern Creek scores final 5 points in game (with 55.4 seconds left) to come back to defeat Doss.
  7. PRP led by 2 after 1 and 8 at the half. PRP broke it open in the 3rd. In the 4th, PRP led by over 20 until cleanup time with the subs.
  8. Final from PRP. Moore coach ejected in 2nd half with 2 technicals.
  9. Final from Fairdale in the 21st District (semifinal)
  10. Final per the KHSAA scoreboard.... Another wacky night in the 6th region.
  11. First round of the Ted Throckmorton Tournament at Jeffersonville, IN. PRP plays two games tomorrow in the 16 team tournament.
