  1. Great football game. Magness was the difference in this one. With him, Central didn't have an answer defensively. Without him the young back up threw a pick inside his own 10 and turned it over twice on fumbles...however, he played a very gutsy 2nd half after he calmed down. Losing Magness also really hurt defensively...he's a wale of a linebacker. Not sure Central could stop HC with Magness, but we'll never know. Congrats to Central, they had to earn this one. Good luck against PT. Cats are in good shape going into next season, another year of maturity will make this team a contender in a year.
  2. John will have his boys ready. Russellville by a TD!
  3. Henry defense? I knew what you meant though. I agree, #2 is a stud and 5 can hurt you all over the place. If HC can make Central have to drive the football, they will be in good shape.
  4. That's pretty sad. You have a list of coaches who have done a great job this year, and all people can do is try and take away from that. What a shame. No complaints here, all the coaches that were listed are worthy of the award in my book!:ylsuper:
  5. WJ had a heckuva run! Coach Wood is deserving of Coach of the Year considerations!
  6. No, it was pretty evident that the speed of Henry County didn't allow the edge to be given up to Hills, and Hills couldn't catch the QB. My point is you are knocking that Henry is too slow for central (while HC is no match on the track for Central), so what does that make Hills? I never said it was a blow out or a beating...but the overall team speed difference between the two was very much noticeable. Sorry to burst your bubble.
  7. This thread already? Geeze, the dust hasn't settled yet guys.
  8. Yet Henry is much faster than Hills...that was pretty easily proven a few weeks ago...so your predication makes good sense.
  9. Shawnee is improving, but they are not in the same hemisphere with what Central has done. Let's not blow a win over Shawnee out of proportion. Good luck to both teams.
  10. 1000 yards of offense will be missing from E'town this week. 2 top WR's are out for the season according to the News Enterprise. #14 Clayton Patton and #6 Devante Clarkson will not return due to injuries. How will this impact E'town? That's close to 50% of their offense.
  11. When you win state titles you are a great coach, apparantly wasn't "great" when he was at Doss? At least nobody was talking about him. Amazing how all that speed in a class with virtually no speed can make you a great coach! Coaching or not, Central by 21. Personally, think he does a great job organizing his team, that is what they were always missing. His X's and O's are NO different than anybody elses...does a great job getting his kids to play for him, and that's the difference!
  12. Anytime you have your kids for one more week, that is one more week of practice to get better....that is more important than anything.
  13. Perhaps it was another hanging chad? I demand a recount of all BGP polls! :taz:
  14. Hills should win this one, we'll find out how tough Shawnee is!
  15. Its amazing what a little confidence can do to a team. I look forward to watching this FK team grow over the next few years!
  16. You are right addict. A head coach is only as good as his assistants and Coach E has recruited a good bunch....and it shows! I heard him on some radio show last Friday (scoreboard show??) He went on and on about how great his coaches are and how great a job they are doing. Seems like a stand up guy to give all the credit to his staff, HC would do well to hang on to Coach E.
  17. Good defenses can cause turnovers, no excuses...regardless, Hills takes this one easy.
  18. You're right. Henry wins this one no matter what, but if they don't get focused it could be really close!
  19. GREAT win, but let's not start throwing out statements like "they can play with most any team in 2A". Good win over a QUALITY team though!
  20. Flu has hit Henry County pretty bad (entire population-not just the football team). Missing starting LG, back up LB, several were out all week but "played through it" tonight. I am sure there will be more to come. Lots of young kids getting reps-fun had by all!
  21. This is going to be a good one...the SO score really shocked me but so did the Grant score...it's a push. I will take the hometown colonels in a barn burner 28-21.
  22. Last I checked they have 3 or 4 out...or did for a while! Anyway, hear it maybe a wet night in Taylorsville, this will make things interesting if it holds true. I take the Cats in a good one, 35-21.
