Concessions at The Fieldhouse?

Why would the opposing teams student section be designated to be behind the bench at a neutral site? Sounds a bit off. -

Congratulations Lady Bears. Well deserved. It's a shame this thread isnt about the Lady Bears and what they accomplished. Most on this thread want to talk about things of the past, but I havent heard hardly a thing about the game. Would someone please tell us a little about the game? Stats havent been posted by anyone yet, but could someone give a summary of the game and who came up big for Bracken County. Obviously someone must have played huge down the stretch. Maybe I missed it scrolling through all the "extra" on this thread, but it did get a little old reading the same old thing. Lets give these girls from Bracken County some credit!!! -

They are 10-8 on the year. -
Parents are sometimes out of hand. From screaming at the referees, to yelling at their own kids (or even others), to yelling at the coach, to blaming anyone and everyone else for failure and absolutely making a fool out of themselves and embarssing others, some parents just dont support the team anymore. I think each parent should go through some type of training on sportsmanship or "how to act as a parent." If they dont attend the training their child does not play. Any problems during the season they are kicked out and not allowed back. Zero tolerance policy. I believe they may do something like this in Florida. I thought the state of Florida may start a national trend a couple years ago but that doesnt appear to have happened.

Any details on this one? I believe this puts PC at 2-1 and St. Pat at 0-3.

Both teams won. Can't remember exactly but Bracken won by like 10 to 12 and Pendleton won by something like 18.

Pendleton was up 28-0 at half. I think it ended up getting worse than that. -
Collins Named Pendleton's New Coach

Much deserved. Good luck to Coach Collins. -
Congratulations to Coach Persinger. This is well deserved. I hope those of you in Bracken County can support him. It sounds like some of you have a personal vendetta against him. If the folks of Bracken County don't support him and let him run the program the way he and his staff want to run it will be a shame. Step aside and let him run the program his way. By the way if this "other" candidate was so super why has he remained where he is at. Perhaps you forget it doesn't matter how great you were when you played and what you accomplished as a player, nor does it matter a great deal when it comes to coaching as their is a head coach making all the calls, unless its a situation where the assistant coach is doing more coaching than the head coach. Great players dont automatically make great coaches. If he is so great as a teacher and coach, I would think everyone would be knocking down his door. Congratulations Chad.

So just because a guy from UHA is interviewing that makes it great. Haven't you learned about coaches from the outside. If he were to be hired 1. he would not be liked by the Bracken County faithful and 2. he would be leaving within 3 years when a bigger job becomes available. Didn't you learn from Coach Breeze that association with a program means absolutely nothing. Perhaps he is a water boy/student manager as well. State Testing is too important to worry about hiring a basketball coach during that time. Announcement will come by the end of the week or next week.

Not really sure what some of you Bracken fans are expecting. I think most of you on here expect a high quality, experienced person to leave his position to come to Bracken. I am pretty sure if John Calipari, Roy Williams, Bill Self, Tom Izzo or any other top notch college coaches were hired in time you would find something wrong with them. It's amazing for an All A school the expectations you have. If you won every year and have won several All "A" regional championships and have competed at the varsity level then I could understand some of your expectations. Chad Persinger and Jason Hinson are both quality candidates who will build the program. They will make decisions that some of you will not like, but they will be around to build a program and not use the Bracken County system as a way to build their own stock so to speak to move on to another position. By the way, I believe there is something called the CATS test going on right now. Pretty big state test of some sort. HAHA. Their will be no hiring while the CATS testing is going on in Bracken County and I believe its a little more important to hire a Math teacher before a Head Coach which is what the administration plans to do.

Any changes in 10th Region coaching corners.....
FreeAgent007 replied to TubbyCAT's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The head basketball coaching position will be open. It has not been posted yet. Coach Persinger deserves a chance. He has been there many years and has been an assistant on the girls side to Coach Jon Wirth and an assistant to Coach Dan Fisher on the boys side. He has coached middle school basketball and fastpitch softball. He is not going anywhere and will develop this program from the elementary level up. Everyone in Bracken wants someone that will stick around so they need to hire someone that has stuck around and is not going anywhere. As far as some parents and players not liking him, how many people on here at your workplace likes your boss everyday? I would venture to say some do and some don't. My point is there are some that like him and some that don't. It's that way with any coaching position especially. Why not give him a chance? What does Bracken County have to lose? Whether he wins or loses some Bracken Countians will like him and some will not. Give him a shot. -
Any changes in 10th Region coaching corners.....
FreeAgent007 replied to TubbyCAT's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The main reason Bracken County middle school basketball is over so early is because they play in the Ohio River Conference. That conference concludes with the conference tournament which now ends before Christmas. The conference tournament used to be held the week after Christmas break. So when the conference ended the season ended. All games were played within about a two month period. Some of the reasoning behind this is to allow some 8th graders to join the high school program at the end of their season. -
Bracken coaching changes again!
FreeAgent007 replied to POLAR BEAR BLUE's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The reason why you cant keep a coach is for two reasons. Number 1 coaches are hired from outside the area that are not going to stay. Bracken is used as a stepping stone. Number 2 while Bracken Co. has some very nice, kind, considerate people most of the people consider someone from the outside as an outsider or a foreigner and the coach is never really welcomed and given a chance. There are people inside the county who are very capable of heading up varsity programs there and should be hired. -

That's what happens when you have a boy/girl doubleheader and the boys lead off. The boys team was not the only one to take off early as the PC student section only had about 10 students left after halftime. I understand Title IX and how hard the girls work, and by all accounts had a pretty successful year and I certainly respect that but facts are facts. Its pretty easy to criticize a coaching staff under an assumed name I guess; have you voiced this concern to that staff or just decide to take a shot here? -
10th Region Freshman Tournament

38th District is Wednesday night, I think. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. It will be Pendleton County vs. Harrison County in the finals. Does the winner then host the region? -

Well, for tonight Pendleton was the better team. If there is a rematch at Harrison County that will be for the big prize though.
