Oldham County pulled away with a big second half to hold off Trimble County 81-71 in boys district basketball Friday in Bedford. The visiting Colonels trailed 30-29 at halftime but scored 51 points over the final 16 minutes to pull out the win. Evan Long led four Raiders in double figures with 21 points. Robbie Brooks scored 14, Michael Dunaway had 13 and Ethan Merrill added 12. Jacob Kopp had 20 points to lead Oldham County. Amen bballcoach!! I was wondering the same thing. I wish the voting wasn't so biased towards the elite TEAMS and recognized the players as intended. They won't find a player who works harder against guys who are much bigger than Justin. Congrats to a fine young man !!

I have been in Henry's gym when it had 6000 in it. Not one seat empty and 10 deep on the ends. 1978 regional tournament with Shelby Co. and Charles Hurt. I believe St. Francis' gym is the old " Spectrum" or Males old gym where Griffith and Turner played.

How about Dre Banta from Eminence, Ethan Stewart from Carroll,or Justin Webb from Trimble?? They don't get many props but they are nice players who play hard. I believe Webb is averaging at least a double/double and is a load inside to stop. Dre Banta is as good a shooter as there is if he can get his shots. Ethan Stewart is a great shooter plus he can handle the ball .

By the way, I'll take Owen 71-60. But Owen will have trouble gaurding Carroll from the perimeter and those boys can shoot it.

Most people don't realize what Shelton gives Owen from the perimeter. He can actually shoot it with consistency, plus he's an excellent passer. That's a tough match-up. He can pick apart most zones by looking over the top. A lot of times though, they settle for the jump shot istead of pushing it on inside. If they don't make shots from the perimeter it stands to be a long night.
