North Hardin 36 Oldham County 35
Oldham County (3-2) travels to Radcliff on Friday for a matchup with the Trojans of North Hardin (3-2). Oldham is fresh off a Saturday win over rival South Oldham, 14-12, a win that ended a two game losing skid. North Hardin is also coming off a win, a 14-0 victory over the Valley Vikings. The game may hinge on the youthful Oldham County defense, which has held opponents to 10-12 points in Oldham's three wins, but which has yielded an average of 40 points in the Colonels' two losses. North Hardin's defense - after giving up 51 points to Pulaski County in a 51-7 loss three weeks ago - has shutout its last two opponents, beating Central Hardin 48-0 and Valley 14-0 in the last two games. FREE Live video coverage will begin with the Skyworks pregame show on the Pegasus Sports Network at 7 pm Eastern Time. Kickoff is at 7:30 pm. Go to www.psnky.com The broadcast will also be available on the site afterwards as an archive, indefinitely. Mike Montgomery and Jamie Brown will have the call.

Oldham County 14 South Oldham 12
Oldham County tries to bounce back after falling to 2-2 last week with a loss to Collins on the road. Oldham, who scored 37 last week to Collins in a 56-37 defeat, has scored frequently with its youthful offense, tallying 30+ points in 3 of 4 games, and putting 21 on the board against North Oldham, but the Colonels - equally young on the defensive side of the ball (LOTS of sophomores) and playing a new 3-5-3 scheme - have given up 90 points total in their last two games, both losses on the road. South Oldham lost its third straight, 42-0, to cross-town rival North Oldham last week to fall to 1-3. Since opening with an 8-0 win over Meade County, the Dragons have scored just 31 points in three losses to Eastern, Tates Creek, and North. The game will be broadcast LIVE (and archived indefinitely) on PEGASUS SPORTS NETWORK (www.psnky.com), beginning with the Skyworks pregame show at 7 pm. Guest play-by-play announcer Mike Batuello will take the microphone, sitting in for the traveling Mike Montgomery. He'll join color commentator Jamie Brown for the call of the game.

Strong defense against the Oldham run game for North Oldham was huge in the Mustangs' win. Oldham came in averaging over 5 yards per carry, but North kept Oldham to just 3.8 yards / carry, unofficially, on the night. Oldham managed just three carries of over 10 yards, with the longest - 18 yards - by fullback Caisyn Lee. Oldham QB Javy Tucker had a rough start, throwing two picks in his first three throws, but finished strong, completing 9 of 16 afterward, with two TDs and no INT. His gutsy play in the fourth brought Oldham to within 6 yards of cutting what had been a 20 point North lead down to just a touchdown.....Tucker finished 10-19-2 204 yards 2 TDs, and added 7 carries for 27 yards. North QB Brodie Pfeiffer looked in control all night. He repeatedly found holes in the Oldham pass defense on the underneath routes, and though he did throw a pick when he tried to burn the Colonels' 1-deep defense on a long ball. Credit Oldham with pretty much taking away his ability to run, and North pretty much dropped that from their offensive playbook after failing to get much with Pfeiffer's legs. Pfeiffer especially looked impressive on quick-timing routes, and he negated much of Oldham's well-documented ability to pressure the backfield by getting ready of ball fast and on -target. A tribute to both Tucker's and Pfeiffer's elusiveness, neither was sacked on the night. North MVP would have to be the talented running back, Ronin Renton, who showed remarkable leg drive and escapability all night. Oldham couldn't seem to keep him from getting through the first two layers of the defense, and he found the end zone twice. Really impressed with this young man. His ability to gain yards on the ground was the difference-maker in the game. Oldham sophomore WR Cayenne Redmon continues to impress, snagging 6 passes for 98 yards, including a 28 yard TD where he beat all the defenders and caught the ball on the fly in the end zone. For the season the talented receiver already has 15 catches for 342 yards. Oldham County sophomore kicker Rowan Williams continues to make noise. Rowan kicked two field goals from 41 and 32 yards, and remains perfect on the season, having hit all 9 of his PATs and all three of his FGs. The weather and the rivalry combined to really wear on both teams. By the fourth quarter, the heat / humidity / intensity had both teams physically dragging (visibly), and the game was frequently stopped for players suffering from cramps. Thankfully, neither team appeared to suffer any kind of injuries beyond that. North Oldham faces South Oldham next week, meaning they have to rev up their emotions for another rivalry matchup. Oldham goes on the road to face Collins.

As of now, we are still looking at an 8 pm kickoff, which means the online video coverage will begin at 7:30 pm (30 minutes prior to kickoff). We will keep you appraised if the kickoff time changes. www.psnky.com This could be a very closely contested game. Both teams have reason to believe that they can and will win. Neither has faced an overly competitive schedule so far. A win for either will start to validate their progress so far, early in the season. Both teams have potentially emotional rivalry games next week, as Oldham travels to play Collins on the road and North Oldham squares off against intra-county rival South Oldham.

North Oldham 34 Oldham County 21
North Oldham enters the game 1-1 after a 42-0 spanking of North Bullitt (0-2) last week. In week 1, Lafayette topped the Mustangs, 28-14. Senior QB Brodie Pfeiffer leads the way for North Oldham, which has a reasonably sophisticated passing attack. Against the Eagles, Pfeiffer was 15 of 21 for 227 yards and 3 TDs, with no picks. Pfeiffer is also adept at running the ball; against Lafayette he struggled through the air, going 10 for 26, but he led the Mustangs on the ground with 94 yards rushing. Pfeiffer's ability to throw the ball will present a challenge to Oldham; the Colonels have probably not seen a passing attack the quality of North's in their first two games against DeSales and Shelby County. Last week, everything went right for North as they accumulated 128 yards on the ground, with six different runners carrying the ball, and threw for 232 yards. Conner Nesmith and Jackson Davis both had 5 catches for the Mustangs and both scored. Defensively, Brodie Dressel had 9 total tackles, and the Mustangs as a team racked up 6 sacks and recovered 3 fumbles. On the Oldham side, it's also the QB who leads the way. Junior QB Javy Tucker will get his third-ever start on Friday, and he's led the Colonels to a 2-0 start on the season. Like Pfeiffer, Tucker is a run/pass threat. He was 10 of 14 for 161 yards and 3 scores against DeSales, while running for a fourth TD. In a 30-12 win over Shelby, Tucker was 12 of 23 for 279 yards and a TD. For the season, Tucker is completing just a tick under 60% of his passes for 440 yards, 4 scores, and only one interception, with just one sack. 6'0" 170 pound sophomore wideout Cayenne Rankin is off to a hot start for Oldham, and he exploded against Shelby, catching 6 passes for 194 yards and a score. The Colonels' speedy receiver repeatedly beat the Shelby secondary and caught wide-open passes, including a long of 47 yards. On defense, Oldham is led by MLB Jess Officer, a junior. Officer had 100 tackles to lead Oldham last season, as a sophomore, and has 16 tackles in the first two games of the year, with 6 TFL. Pegasus Sports will go "on air" with free live video coverage at 7 pm at www.psnky.com. The broadcast will also be archived online, indefinitely. CM

So sorry everyone looking for the live broadcast couldn't join in. This was a software / internet issue at our end, not a problem on yours. Funny (or not).....we ran a dry run at OCHS two weeks prior, and no bugs popped up.....but we seem to have resolved these now. The broadcast is SO much more sophisticated than 2023, when Pegasus last broadcast. The broadcast was placed online as an archive late Friday night, and is still out there (it will remain there indefinitely). Again, my apologies for the inconvenience; Oldham County fans, we will be on air - ON TIME - this Friday at North Oldham (7 pm). CM

Oldham trying to move to 2-0 on the young season, and should be favored in this one. Oldham County has won 6 of the last 10 meetings between the two schools, dating back to 2010. The Colonels have won the last two meetings in 2024 and 2025, outscoring the Rockets by a cumulative score of 93-0. Last year, the Colonels won, 43-0, in Shelbyville, as the Colonel defense held the Rockets to just 39 total offensive yards. Oldham scored two TDs rushing, two TDs receiving, one on a fumble recovery, and one a kickoff return as all three pieces of the roster got into the scoring act. Both coaches - Jamie Reed of Oldham County and Powell Miller of Shelby County - were in their first years as head coach at their respective schools last year, though both are veteran coaches. Reed finished 6-5 with his inaugural OCHS team; Miller finished 1-9 in Shelbyville

Oldham County 30 Shelby County 12
Shelby County (0-0, pending Saturday 8/22/26 game vs Taylor County) Oldham County (1-0, beat DeSales, 38-10 Friday 8/21/26 at DeSales) Oldham County's youngsters played a pretty mature ballgame on the road in their first game of the season against DeSales, keeping it professional, blue-collar, and aggressive against the Colts. With just 3 returning starters on both sides of the ball, and missing the leading passer, top 2 leading rushers, and the leading pass catcher from 2025, Oldham looked relatively polished on both sides of the ball, with reasonably good execution for a Week 1 clash on the road. Veteran Oldham coach Jamie Reed, one of the winningest coaches in metro Louisville, is now 2-0 in season openers at the Buckner school. True, DeSales is a smaller school, but the Colts have an exemplary coach of their own in Mike Jackson, a tradition of football excellence in their class, and they returned 19 starters from last year's 6 win team that won 4 of its last 6. So while Oldham had a slight advantage in numbers on the sidelines, the Colts had a significant advantage in game experience. Junior QB Javy Tucker was outstanding in his first start as the Oldham QB, particularly considering he missed the second scrimmage against Lexington Christian after a mild injury suffered against Bowling Green. Threw a couple of passes for scores - including a 44 yard bomb - and ran for a third score. Dixon Mount looked solid in multiple roles, playing the wing/slot position. Offensive and defensive lines both looked vastly improved since last week's scrimmage vs. Lexington Christian. Oldham's defense really flew to the ball, forcing pressure on the DeSales QB, forcing fumbles, and making DeSales pay for two bad snaps on punts, both of which resulted in safeties. Nothing on Shelby yet - the Rockets play Taylor County tonight. BROADCAST: The Pegasus Sports Network, the official voice of Oldham County HS sports, will go on-air with the Skyworks Pregame Show at 7 pm. Kickoff at 7:30 pm. Mike Montgomery (play by play) and Jamie Brown (color commentary) will provide the call. We hope everyone will enjoy the new, improved Pegasus Sports. Go to www.psnky.com The broadcast will be LIVE, FREE, and also ARCHIVED on the website indefinitely. CM

Oldham County 38 DeSales 10
Oldham up 17-0 and dominating. The Colonels have scored twice on safeties due to DeSales issues snapping long on punts. Javy Tucker has looked very good at QB for OC, despite missing the second scrimmage with a minor injury. 4:48 to play in first half and Oldham has the ball first and 10 at DeSales 46

Not DeSales' fault. I'll leave it at that. AD was very apologetic about the situation. Pegasus has a very good relationship with the Colts.

Oldham County 38 DeSales 10
Oldham County Colonels (6-5 in 2025) at DeSales (6-6 in 2025) Friday, 8/21/26 7:30 pm kickoff Inexperience vs experience. Two of the more highly successful coaches (Jamie Reed at Oldham and Mike Jackson at DeSales) square off with very different squads on Friday. Oldham County has just 3 returning starters on offense and three on defense.....the Colts return 9 starters on offense and 10 on defense..... Oldham has a lot of question marks early, but returns two stellar players on D, in Junior MLB Jess Officer, who tallied 100 tackles in 2025 and senior OLB Lincoln Weaver, who was #2 in 6A in 2025 with 9.5 sacks and #1 in 6A in 2025 with 5 forced fumbles. The Colonels have switched to a 3-stack defensive look from last year's 4 man front, and will look to put more pressure on the offenses they face, sometimes with a 3-3 look, and, more often, with a 3-5 formation. How Oldham handles the scheme switch will likely tell the tale in terms of wins and losses in the early going. At QB, Javy Tucker looks to lead the way, and Dixon Mount - the backup QB - looks to be a key player at one of the wingback positions. Cayenne Redmon looks to be the new go-to guy in the receiving game. Redmon, who has great speed, also has the team's "best hands" and is also skilled at running his routes. It's a lot of new faces on offense, though. The Colonels graduated Derek Dees, a three year starter at QB. Besides losing their top passer to graduation, they also lost their top two running backs (who combined for over 1,000 yards rushing) and their top receiver. DeSales is looking to improve with a group that started slow in 2025, but finished fast, winning 4 of their last 6 games, including one playoff contest. Mike Jackson, who coached at Oldham County in the late 90s and early 2000s, winning two 4A Coach of the Year awards while in Buckner, will be watching the Offensive Line in particular, as that was the Colt's weakness in 2025. Despite the fact DeSales has 19 starters returning, the Colts lost some critical contributors at QB and WR, where they lost a top-15 passer and a top-15 wide receiver. Defensively, Jackson is hoping to better adjust to teams that show option looks; a problem in 2025. Toward that end, Jackson thinks this team will be solid in the box, but unfortunately, the Colts' scrimmage opponents mostly threw the ball, meaning the defensive front remains a bit of a question mark heading into Friday's matchup. KEYS: In Week 1, everything is key, but, the following will be areas of concern: Oldham County Finding the correct places to be in the new defense Ability to exert pressure on DeSales' offensive scheme Efficient pass game to help free up the run DeSales Ability to maintain / grind out long drives Assignment defense against Oldham rushing attack Ability of new QB not to get too excited and try to do too much As of this time, we expect the game will be broadcast on the Pegasus Sports Network. We are awaiting final approvals from DeSales. Tune in on www.psnky.com at 7 pm (half hour before kickoff) for the SkyWorks Pregame Show. Mike Montgomery will have the play-by-play and Jamie Brown the color commentary. Be sure to tune in an see the NEW, IMPROVED production as Pegasus debuts a 4-camera setup! CM

2026 Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers
Looks like their last big season (defined here as double-digit wins) was 2012, when they went 14-1 and didn't lost until falling to Trinity in the 6A championship game.....

2026 Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers
Went to PRP in 7th/8th grade (remember when you didn't go to a middle school and you went to the JUNIOR HIGH part of a high school?). They had decent teams (1974 and 1975) with the likes of Jim McDonough at QB, Orlando Hart at WR, Chuck Urevick at RB, etc. I left Louisville after '75 but kept following the Panthers....their 84 team was absolutely awesome. Even in the early 2000s, PRP was fielding strong, athletic, talented teams. I guess every program has a periodic downturn.

Sorsby granted an injunction
The NFL....Where there's an automatic one year ban for betting on games and lifetime banishment for fixing a game......hmmm, doesn't sound like much of a football future to me. If he played like someone named "Manning", "Montana", "Marino" (where'd all these "M"s come from??), etc. maybe some GM takes a risk, extracts a promise from the kid in blood, and saddles him with a million contract penalties for violating the rules......but - while he may be an above average QB - I just don't see him as being such a talent that many teams will be willing to take that risk / waste that money (except maybe Cleveland, but they haven't recognized exceptional QB talent since Kosar.....? ) Bottom-line: The kid has a problem, and he screwed up BIG. I feel sorry for him, truly. I have a friend who has a similar problem. Unfortunately for Sorsby, it may have just cost him BIG.
