I would like someone to give some insight on game...

Metcalfe county has some really good athletes, and have to stop giving up the big plays to be competitive in 2a. This game was a lot closer than the score looks like. Monroe scored on some big plays and had a lot of trouble running the ball. The game seemed to lack a lot of intensity. I am not kidding when I say a baby could have slept through this one. From the kids, to coaches to fans it was not an exciting night. The intensity just does not seem to be there. Monroe needs to find a rhythm to be successful. They are on cruise and not going very fast at all...it sounds like there are two teams at the top of there district and they are not one of them.

Another scoreless game for South's defense! It is commendable for a defense not to give up any points at all. Even though Logan is not a power house, still commendable!

I have heard Adair county has returned a lot of starters from last year. It sounds like they are competitive to put up that kind of numbers!

Sounds like Rockcastle were a little hungry...

I can tell you guys this...Wayne is for real. They will do really good this season. They made halftime adjustments that shut Monroe down. Monroe looked very bad in the second half but after looking at it again, Wayne looked that good! Wayne's qb will do great things for them, this kid has all the right stuff and I would LOVE to see them play south! I really respect Wayne's program, coaches, kids , and fans. We have a good relationship with them and look forward to playing them every year...as far as south...NO LOVE! We have not had good dealings playing them, visiting them, or hosting them...and that's that! I can tell you this that it will be on when we play them again!!! Monroe showed good sign of growth in the first half. Remember all these starters are just juniors. Not a senior led class at all. We only have a few seniors that start on both sides. All backs and qb are jr's. Line has senior center and tight end, the rest are juniors, sophomores and one freshman..defense is the same..Monroe is still rotating most positions and players around finding there groove. Kids are playing all over the place and they will be just fine once the right combination is dialed in. As far as 12 or lower in rankings...hey that's fine with the Monroe faithful, we don't really give a hoot about rankings because we always set the stage for a later season peak!

I agree that it's khsaa...not south's doing! And I am a school that has been put in their district. As far as numbers do not matter...that's not the case at all. You have strength in numbers. Ask central who dresses over 100 kids. You think they are saying that 550 males or 345, and only 50 come out for team.. yada yada yada...Monroe has dressed 61 this year. That's huge for us, but I am confident South has more dressed than that, so larger enrollment means more possibilities for stronger talent! Either way it's still not south's fault that they were classified there, but it will be very fun for BG to have three of the five schools in the same district fighting across town for home field! And I agree that south does deserve a top ten bid. Good defensive showing for them Friday night. I am so much looking forward to playing them in the weeks to come.

I agree. Still showing their youth, but give them a few more games to get the jitters out and the staff to work the kinks out and they will be ok this season.

Wayne looked really good. There qb is a freshman if I am correct and he is a special athlete. Very composed young man with a good arm. Good win on the road at Monroe!!, The game was looking to be a great battle until half and Monroe decided to not play very well in the second half. Wayne jumped up two scores quick and Monroe laid down. They showed their youth... Wayne deserves a good top ten bid and Monroe does not after tonight's showing. Lack of tackling and offensive line letting Arnett run for his life was disheartening. Defensive line was about the same. I am going to watch it again and try to get the jest of the fiasco! Veach and Phillips had stand out games. Without them it would have been very bad tonight,,,!, The Monroe faithful will rise from the ruins to scratch their heads and look for an answer for the fall off!
