Two good teams going at it. Congrats to Cooper. What a season of really tough losses for Dixie.

Ryle did have more coaches than SK.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think SK would play at Male in the second round with the cross-bracketing with that Louisville district.

Josh Line, Ryle kicker, was a huge factor in the game with 3 relatively long field goals drilled. Josh is also a key player on the Ryle boys’ soccer team that is in the KY final 4. SK botched an extra point and short FG that was a 4-point difference. The SK punter did.a super job including one amazing save on a bad snap. He ran it down and made a great punt.

Congrats to the Raiders. I’m proud of them. They simply never gave up and survived a pick 6. SK scored on two long pass plays and a pick 6. Defense played exceptionally well in the second half.

I’ll leave it up to MC 44 to post in the second half. Grandkid visit takes priority over posting. Evenly matched first half with SK taking better advantage of turnovers.

Short kickoff and Ryle starts at own 40. Great break on the ball by Kitchens and a 57-yard pick 6. SK going for 2 and Turner runs it in. SK 14 Ryle 7 - 1:07 to play in 2Q

No gain on first down run by Turner then Lee runs for 3 on second down. Pass complete on 3 and 7. Nice run by Turner for 7 on 1st bouncing off tacklers. Run for first down then incomplete pass on first and nice run for 9 by Lee then 15 yard run by Turner. 1 yard by Turner on first. Beautiful 43-yard pass by Lee to Weaver. Botched extra point on bad snap then a block. Ryle 7 SK 6 - 1:46 to go til half

Ryle starts at own 22 and three consecutive plays for first downs - 2 by air and 1 on a keeper by Verax. Ryle at SK 48. Lee just misses off fingertips on a near TD pass on first down. Second down pass incomplete. Nathan Verax drops a third down pass that would have been good for 30 yards. Ryle punt downed at SK 9. Missed opportunities on that drive.

Nice sack by Dillon Smith on 3rd down. SK dodged a king sized bullet on a bad snap and fantastic recovery and punt by SK punter. Great play by SK to avoid a disaster.

I like SK’s up tempo offense. Drive starts from own 21 and nice 14-yard run by Turner. Two first downs on runs by Turner and Lee. Pass complete to Weavrr on 3 down for first down at Ryle 42. No gain by Turner on first down and incomplete pass on second. False start and 3 and 15 coming up.

Ryle called for holding again. 2 and 18 from 19. Short completion to Reynolds and 3 and 15 coming up after a Ryle timeout. Verax to Lorms good for 12 to SK 4. Beautiful pass and catch on fourth and goal from Verax to Lorms. 7-0 Ryle 8:49 left for n 2Q

Incomplete on 3rd down at Ryle 26. Ryle returns the favor on a beautiful interception by D lineman Dillon Smith. Ryle starts at SK 48. Good DB play by SK so far. 3 and 10 pass reception to Lorms for first down wiped out by holding. Grady Reynolds wide open on 3 and 20 for a 48-yard gain to SK 11..

Ryle first down from 4 on nice pass Verax to Lorms. PI on SK and then they intercept a bad screen pass. First down SK at Ryle 29. Two short runs take us to end of 1Q with 3 and 7 coming up for SK. One turnover by each team and decent defense so far.

Turner gains 16 then a first down sack by Reynolds for a loss of 9. Third down and 18 Ryle misses an interception on a badly overthrown ball. SK punt from Ryle 40 downed at the 4.

A bad snap on second down for a loss of 15 gives away the great field position. Ryle punts again and Kitchens with a 4 yard return. SK starts at own 22. Turner is a solid back. Lee and Turner alternate runs for a first down at 38. Lee is doing a good job with two keepers for first diwns

Nice drive by SK including a 34-yard pass to Kitchens with a great catch that looked like it could have been picked. Turner fumbles on first down and Gavin Lyons returns it about 40 yards to SK 34.

Ryle survives a first down sack by Selm and completes a 4th and 1 from their own 40. One more first down on an 11-yard run by Savage. SK defense holds and forces punt from 38. Downed at the 2.

Cool and fairly windy night at Borland Stadium. Neers in all white. Ryle in black jerseys with white pants. SK to kick off into the wind.

The forecast I saw looks good with rains ending mid afternoon. Cool night in the low 50s. The old grass field days would have been some slip ‘n slide.

Same song. Different season. SK does not pose a threat to the top 5 or 6 teams in 6A this year. I remember when Trinity visited SK last year and an upset was in the forecast. The only upset I remember was SK being upset because there were two halves to play.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see us play our best game of the year vs the Niners, and an upset is not impossible.

Excellent point. The Camels obviously improved drastically since earlier in the season and were in position to win both games against Ryle and SK. Kudos to Coach Weinrich and the Camel players for putting in the work!
