  1. I read the complete article. I could care less whether they fire the coach or not. I don't have a dog in this hunt. I do know what a quality coaching staff can bring to a program though. Those kids at FKHS come and go, most of the population at Fort Knox comes and goes. A solid coaching staff can stay for a long, long, time and make a huge difference. It all starts and ends with the head coach - both success and failure.
  2. If I was the coach at Crittenden County, I wouldn't give my players Friday night off. I would load up the whole Rocket team on the bus and head to Mayfield. The opportunity to watch Mayfield play a complete game in person could pay big dividends for Crittenden County.
  3. The problem at Ft. Knox is not the people in and around Knox speaking the truth about the football program. The Eagles have a better than average possibility of setting a new record for games lost. The problem is nobody in an administrative role at FKHS is facing the truth and making some hard changes. FKHS needs a complete overhaul of the coaching staff, not many places you can keep a job these days and produce nothing. Fort Campbell's football program was a dismal mess prior to Coach Shawn Berner's hiring. He gets hired, has a rough first season and the rest is well, you know the rest of the FC story!
  4. I don't know if Antonio has had a chance to really embrace the once in a lifetime opportunity he has in front of him. I really believe he is fully focused on the 2A Championship for now. The whole high school football experience will be over for him in two months. The opportunity offered by the Air Force Academy and service as an officer in the Air Force opens many doors for Antonio for the rest of his life.
  5. Confirmed scholarship offer for Ft. Campbell QB Antonio Andrews. This is the first D1 offer for Antonio at the QB position. Antonio has received lots of interest as indicated in the article, but most have been as an athlete or DB. Running the triple option in the Mountain West Conference is intriguing to say the least!! I personally would like to see Antonio at UK on the field at the same time with Randall Cobb, but we will see what he accepts. Antonio should be Mr. Football; not only a beast on the football field, but a National Honor Society student in the classroom. Admission to a Service Academy is reserved for the cream of the crop - total person concept. http://theeaglepost.us/articles/2009/10/07/sports/doc4accad717997a676122157.txt

  7. I am just glad it is a short drive to Elkton! Todd is never a good football team and this year they are worse than normal. Falcons by a bunch, running clock, lots of young Falcons playing the majority of the game. Coach Berner will once again show mercy as he did against Ft. Knox.
  8. That is probably one of the biggest compliments FC has received this year! Even after Mr. Football Corey Robinson and Jamarielle Brown have moved on to the next level the Flash continue to put big numbers on the board. I am impressed!
  9. Exactly, how about lets not post anything reference to this farce of a poll. You don't have to follow an inaccurate poll all season to see what happens. Follow the BGP poll through the season and then make the drive to Bowling Green to see the final chapter.
  10. I said Purple Flash by 3 TDs; they sure did better than that. I think that as long as Lone Oak can play in decent weather conditions their offense is impossible to stop. I am thinking a 4A title in the making for Western Kentucky this year!! I wish FC would get Lone Oak back on the schedule. We could have had some star-studded and explosive games the last three seasons. Congrats Purple Flash!
  11. Maybe; here are some reasons. More than a few comments over the recent years about FC not being a true Kentucky school. Uninformed comments that some Army General officer somewhere decides which military family is assigned to Ft. Campbell based upon the football prowess of their kid. Comments that 2A football is JV level football compared to other classifications and no kid from a 2A school should be considered for Mr. Football. Two years in a row the voters on BGP incorrectly chose NCC to beat FC in the championship, (not based on football logic, but because NCC is a NKY school) I could keep going, but you get the point.
  12. There is one NKY school that has recently received an annual reminder in the championship as to who Ft. Campbell was and Is!
  13. These are the ones I know for sure: UK, WKU, Vanderbilt, Auburn, and Alabama. He had a face to face with Nick Saban this summer. Antonio is a pretty modest kid that doesn't talk much about himself or his future plans. He is 100% focused on winning a 3rd 2A title. In addition to being a football star he is also solid in the classroom. The word is that he is carrying a 3.4 GPA. Academics will not be an issue when it comes time to decide on a college.
  14. I think the 'Hounds are going to have a lot to say, probably the final say on who comes to Bowling Green from their side of the bracket.
  15. That is the deal with Antonio that I continue to point out. He is an all around beast on the football field. He refuses to lose as demonstrated late in the 4th quarter of the title game against NCC. He, the QB, took the reception 60 some yards down the field leaving piles of juked out 'Breds in his wake. He rolled up over 3,500 yds. and 50 TD last season (27 rush, 22 pass, 1 rec) and he is well on his way this year with 26 TDs in only 6 games. Almost everybody else mentioned for Mr. Football plays RB period. Antonio is not "Mr. Does one thing well" he is all around Mr. Football.
  16. 7-Kentucky Country Day 5-Heath 3-Edmonson County 2-Monroe County 1-Caldwell County TB-Kentucky Country Day
  17. This one is almost too close to call. I believe turnovers will be the key to this game. Good Luck Monroe County Falcons!!
  18. Lone Oak will light up the scoreboard on Green County, especially if the weather conditions are good. It will take more than just running the ball every play to beat the Purple Flash. Lone Oak handled Lexington Catholic in a very close game and I don't believe Green is any where close to the same level as Lex Cath. Purple Flash by 3 TDs
  19. I have to go with FC until proven otherwise, but it is probably a toss-up between FC and Bowling Green for #1. Barely slid Christian County in at #10. They were more then a little lucky last year and they were not impressive at all at the FC Jamboree - FC shut them down. Couldn't put Green in the list - they are a one demension run offense which will not get them far in the playoffs. 1) FC 2) Bowling Green 3) Lone Oak 4) Owensboro 5) Allen County - Scottsville 6) Mayfield 7) Crittenden County 8) Monroe County 9) Henderson County 10) Christian County
