  2. I believe Holy Cross would have home field throughout playoffs until the final 4 if they take care of business in their district . So playing Mayfield at home may be an option , if both teams would make it that far . Hopefully , neither Holy Cross or Mayfield is looking that far ahead .
  3. What is everyone's thoughts on Holy Cross going out to Christian Academy on Friday ? Holy Cross I'd on huge high coming off dominating defensive victory over 2A power Desales . Holy Cross needs to maintain their discipline and not overlook Christian Academy ..... I see Holy Cross winning 28 - 7 .....
  4. Louisville Holy Cross dominated Desales last night defensively with Desales never really threatening to score . Desales also was very strong defensively against Cross but Cross , once again , played mistake free football . Desales QB is average at best and is definitely what holds their team back . Cross never really got outside on Desales and could therefore not show their speed advantage . Give the Colts credit for that . Cross seems more and more to be a serious threat in 1A this year . A very clean game with both teams showing lots of class in what is a very , very heated rivalry game !!!! Cross goes to 2A Christian Academy next week in what looks like a pretty tough game too . Cross plays 'up' in every gane this year except for their 3 district games . That very tough schedule will play huge dividends at the end of the year when playoff time arrives . Congratulations Cougars !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Huge week for Louisville Holy Cross against biggest rival Desales . Cross needs this game in order to re-establish their dominance in the south end again . Desales has taken it to the Cougars recently but this year should mark the beginning of change .... At this point , the rankings seem about right . Any idea when the Litkenhouse rankings come out ????????????
  6. Now calling for rain on Friday night : Will that affect Cross' speed ?????
  7. 7 Gallatin 5 Fern Creek 3 Eastern 2 Holy Cross 1 Doss Tie Breaker Gallatin
  8. What is everyone's take on the upcoming Desales/Holy Cross game on friday night @ Holy Cross ? Will the Desales recent domination continue or can Holy cross get back on the winning track with Desales ? Desales lost a lot of valuable seniors last year lead by Ryan Johnson but they always seem to play good football and look to be strong again this year . Holy Cross seems to finally have put things together and are really playing well to this point . I see Holy cross' speed and quickness being too much for Desales finally . Desales doesn't look to have the same speed that they have had in years past but they are always very physical . Holy Cross 21 - Desales 13
  9. Holy Cross should win this one with ease . They need to focus on the present though as Desales is waiting in the wings for next week's big showdown . It will be interesting to see if Holy Cross has matured as much as people say and see if they are focused tonight . I am sticking with 42-12 . A tough showing by Moore would do good to keep Holy Cross 'honest' going into next week .
  10. Desales beat Bullit East's JV team 34-6 SD
  11. Louisville Holy Cross seems to be on somewhat of a roll the first 2 weeks of the season and looks like a team to be reckoned with in 1A this year . What are their chances against another higher class school ? Cross plays their biggest rival the following week in Desales . Could they be looking ahead ? Predictions please ................................ I'll say Cross 42 - Moore 12 .....................
  12. 7 Ballard 5 Desales 3 Bullitt Central 2 Holy Cross 1 Christian Academy-Louisville TB Desales
  13. Friday night will be a real test for Cross . In years past when they get down they have a tendacy to pack it in . It will be interesting to see what happens on friday if they get down . Their offense isn't set up to come from behind either , which is a huge problem and concern . Their coach is set in his ways and 'old school' in that he will not pass to save his life . If Cross had Henry's offensive scheme , they would be very , very tough to beat . One can wish though . The defense will have thier hands full and will need the offense to step it up some in order to keep the defense fresh and rested . Once again , depth and no injuries are a huge key . Thanks for all of your props ...........
  14. Don't know so much about South Oldham but Henry County is a solid football team . Last weeks loss is probably no indication of where Henry is as a team .
  15. Hopefully you are talking about Holy Cross !!!!!!!!!
  16. Thanks #85 ..... Things are looking up this year for Cross . They have their hands completely full this week though ..... Bullitt East seems to be bigger and deeper all the way around , but that is why you play the game ...........
  17. Holy cross returned the opening kick-off for a touchdown (Aaron Drury) . They then took over after a Bullitt East turnover and drove it down the fileld for another TD going up 13-0 . After that Bullitt East pretty much took control of the game . For Holy Cross , aaron Drury and Jordan Willemborg led the way with Willemborg really running the ball hard and being extremely effective despiter his very small size . Don't know the particulars of the Bullitt east personell .................
  18. Holy Cross is steeping up in class too by playing 4A Bullitt East ..... Tough one ............
  19. This will be a tough one for Holy Cross based on numbers . No depth is a killer when playing a larger school (4A) . My bad on the Bardstown info . Must have read it wrong . I see Holy Cross battling but losing in the end 28 - 14 . Bullitt east is usually very physical and Cross has the talent , but not the depth , to keep up . Let's just hope no-one gets hurt as Cross can afford no injuries at all ...................
  20. Louisville Holy Cross goes across town to visit Bullit East on Friday . What is everyone's opinion on this one ? Cross coming off a big victory and East coming off a tough loss ...............
  21. 5 - St. X 3 - Belfry 3 - Highlands 1 - Mason County 1 - Pulaski County 1 - Hazard County 1 - Sheldon Clark 1 - Rockcastle County 1 - Estill County 1 - Henry County Tiebreaker - 54
  22. 7- Bardstown 5- Manual 3- Henry County 2- Meade County 1- PRP Tiebreaker _ Bardstown
  23. Holy Cross went down 10-0 and then established themselves gradually after that . Cross was up 21-17 with about 3 munites to go and Henry got the ball on about their own 30 . Their coach decided to try and put some points on the board by passing and every incompletion killed the clock , they went 3 and out and Cross got the ball back with about 1:50 to go and went about 50 yards in a minute and went up 28-17 right before half . Big mistake on Henry's part . Cross absolutely dominated the 2nd half , to the ppint of Henry seeming like they almost quit . Very dominant performance by Cross and hopefully a sign of things to come . Cross deserves all of the credit for dominating a good Henry team .
  24. Holy Cross doesn't throw the ball . Why : No-one knows . They made it to the finals of 7 on 7 in Oldham County over summer getting beat ny a very , very talented Ballard team 28-21 . It will be interesting to see if henry County shuts Holy Cross down running the ball if Holy Cross will open it up a bit . I still think , in the end , that Holy Cross's offensive loine will be the difference ...................
