Correct me if I'm wrong, and I may very well be, but 2010 was the first year of a 2 year deal, correct? So, 2010 and 2011 finished out the 2 year agreement. 2012 would have been the first year of another 2 year deal, leaving next year to see it to the end. So, after Dixie backing out for this year, and now Ryle for next year, who wouldn't be a little upset? What every team wants is to improve each and every year. To improve, you play a better team. Just because a school is a 6A team, doesn't automatically make them a powerhouse. Just because a team is a 2A or 4A team doesn't make them easy pickings. Sometimes scheduling just doesn't allow for certain matchups that "everyone" wants to see. It is what it is. Maybe in a couple of years, you may see a HHS and BG game. Who knows? But when you have some great teams right in your own backyard, no one should have to go out of state (unless you're Trinity and you really have no other choice.)

Everyone that is not a HHS supporter is really quick to tell us that we need to schedule more Ohio teams. Why is that a solution? We shouldn't have to schedule out of state teams. Highlands has quite enough schools in the surrounding area that can and should be on the schedule. Trinity shouldn't have to go out of state either for that matter. None of the KY schools should. There is enough talent in this state to make just about every school competitive on every level. It's how each school develops that talent that defines how competitive they will be. Just about every school has its ups and downs talent wise. In NKY, the middle school league has gone from a handful of teams competing against each other year in and year out. Now, almost every middle school has a team, and some have two team per school. There are three size divisions where there used to be only one. Cov Cath has really benefitted from their middle school league and have won several championships as a result and they are supplying the high school with some talented players. The FTJFL limits their teams to a specific number of players to be able to really give more individualized coaching to each player. Everyone gets the opportunity to play. When some of the coaches are working with the older group (mostly the starters), the younger ones aren't standing around watching. They are being coached and are doing the same drills as the older group. The younger players are being developed just like the older ones. Doing this for 6 years prior to high school, is what helps HHS reload each year. There is nothing more frustrating as a parent than to pay tons of money into a program just to see the same 15 kids play the entire game year in and year out. Been there, done that. And the response from the coaching staff, is "well, your kid needs to get better..." Ok, how is he supposed to get better if he never does anything in practice but stand on the sideline WATCHING? To get better, the kids have to do the drills, same plays,etc. It creates muscle memory and confidence. But I digress, my apologies. High schools in the NKY area especially should be doing more to develop starters as well as second, third, and even fourth string (if they have enough players). You can't expect a second or third string player to jump into a starting players spot if all he has done is watch from the sideline. There is talent at each and every NKY high school. Development and correct use of that talent can bring just about every school up to a higher level, but it can't be done instantly. I'm not saying putting a team like Pendleton County up against a Trinity team. But by starting off playing a good team maybe one or two levels up can do some good. See what other higher level teams are doing in the off season, find out what they do that maybe you are not. Keeping middle schoolers interested so that they want to continue playing into high school and you don't lose your talent pool.

If you have a family at Highlands then they should know exactly how those busses are paid for. Every single player has to fund raise every summer. They each have to sell promotion cards. Cards are $20 each and each player has to sell 10. Since you are so mathematically challenged, that equates to $200 per player. Mulitply that times 91 players on Varsity/JV = $18,200..Oh, forgot the 60 Frosh players..Add another $12,000.00 for them. This is on top of athletic fee and meal fee. Might want to check your sources before you speak on a subject you obviously know nothing about...

Give it a rest already... There are exactly 8 out of district players on HHS's Varsity/JV teams that total 91 players. 8.79% of the team doesn't live in Ft Thomas. WOW!! Huge numbers...:ohbrother: Something tells me that the 2 from Kenton County would have made just an ENORMOUS impact their respective schools, one in a county school and one probably in a private. SMH...

I take offense to this comment. He was heading to Ohio University to see his dad coach. Once football season starts, he rarely gets to spend any time with his dad as he is in Norfolk, VA for the season. His dad drove over 4 hours to surprise his wife and son at the Cov Cath game friday night. Neither had any idea he was coming and the look on their faces was priceless. You have NO idea how much it meant to both of them. Jensen wasn't going to be playing in the last few seconds of the JV game anyway. They had a long drive ahead of them to Ohio Univ and did wait until the final buzzer to leave. And no, he doesn't think that way. He is a sophomore, but unless you know him or his family personally, you might want to keep those kind of comments to yourself.

Yes. Was home sick. He had been sick with fever and chills Thursday, attended school Friday with some dizziness, but played in game Friday night. Coaches thought it best to let him take some time to recover over the weekend. Weather was absolutely miserable at the game, and none of the boys had any dry clothes to put on after either, as they had to leave bags outside in rain. Probably best that he not play and get sicker.

I know of one D-lineman for Elder JV that is lucky not to have some broken fingers. If that hand had gone up into a certain facemask one more time, there would've been at least one broken finger. As it was, he was replaced before he could try that stunt yet again.

I have the 4S and it works great. I did the whole update thing when the 5 came out, but haven't had any issues.

To be more specific, there are two players that currently LIVE in Villa Hills. True is originally from VH, but made the move to Ft Thomas about 5 years ago. Dixie school district, not SK. Wise move.

Hate to burst your bubble on this issue, BUT....there are only TWO players on HHS that are from Villa Hills, neither play TE, and both are sophomores...

He can't go anywhere until after the 100th anniversary in 2015...Mine will be a senior that year! Senior year, 100th anniversary of football at HHS... can't ask for anything bettter...ooops, unless it's another state champ ring to add to his collection...

I would like to be the bigger person here and apologize to the other members of this forum for letting this get out of hand. I took offense to being labeled a trash talker, which I most certainly am not. Whether someone has played this great game or not, there is no room on here to bash anyone. I posted a paragraph on another thread about the rivalry between these two programs, and how great both schools are. And that earned me a bashing because a kid reacted to an incident that occured on the field, that AAATC said he was lying about. But I won't apologize for believing in the kid. AAATC may have been on the sideline, but he wasn't in the game.

I don't need luck, with the truth on my side...Did you miss that saying "the TRUTH will set you free"? Do you know me personally? Do you know anything about me? Well, I can answer that. No. Do you know if I have ever played football? No. Just because I asked some questions in an earlier post or made some statements about fumble piles, or if teams spit on opponents, doesn't mean I have never played football, never worn football equipment, whatever. Proven fact: Physical exertion does produce more saliva in the mouth, therefore necessitating a need to get rid of it. Preferably, by spitting it out...duh Since the majority of mouthpieces, (CCH's may be different), stay fitted on the top teeth, YES, you can spit quite easily...It doesn't take a rocket scientist to spit the short distance between a center and a nose tackle. You really don't even have to aim. #42 didn't need to EMBELLISH anything to justify a penalty, but nice try. AND standing on the SIDE LINE puts you right next to the nose tackle? With all of the boys lined up, you wouldn't even be able to see it happen. But, since YOU said it didn't happen, and YOU weren't playing on the field, and YOU didn't get spit on, and YOU are the ultimate last word, Well, let me bow down....because YOU know everything...

First of all, I do not post on here with "trash talk" and inflammatory comments. Are you part of the HHS coaching staff? NO. Are you a HHS player? NO. Were you on the playing field while incident occured? NO, NO, and NO. Now that we've covered that subject, let's continue on with what really happened... And this comes not from a secondary source, or a third party, it comes straight from the player himself...I really don't think you can get a better eye witness than that. If you can find one, let me know! Everyone in the stadium "saw" the coaches speak with him. So? Do you really think that they were going to let the other players hear something that could make the situation even more inflammatory? The program is classy, that's about the only thing I can agree with you on. But if you want to accuse me of talking trash, you need to look to yourself first. Post game trash talking is usually reserved for those who are on the losing end of the score. Please feel free to do a little research on all of my posts to date. You will not find ONE SINGLE POST THAT CONTAINS TRASH TALKING...

I know the boys (at least those at HHS) are conditioned (instructed) not to let trash talking, etc, get the better of them. And the ability to let things go in one ear and out the other comes with age, maturity, and experience. However, after talking with several persons today, I now better understand what led #42 of HHS, to be taken off of the field late in the game, following off setting penalties, and the leveling of a third against CCH. It's one thing to hear the trash talking, who cares what they say, just laugh it off and get back to work. God only knows what goes on in a fumble pile, would never want to know, but have heard the horror stories. But for the center of CCH to straight on let loose with a mouthful of spit into the face of the HHS nose tackle, to me, crosses the line. It is just my opinion, maybe it goes on everywhere, but should have been dealt with. Pro players in all sports must stop play when they start bleeding to get it tended to, and therefore, not allow anyone contact with bodily fluids. Last time I checked, a mouthful of spit is a major bodily fluid. And it's not like he just needed to get rid of what was in his mouth either. You don't just "accidentally" aim for someone's face.. Is this a common occurance? I understand the need to spit, whatever you gotta do.....but to to intentionally get rid of it into an opponents face? Just looking for a few opinions, answers...If it were me, that would've pushed me over the edge too.
