Jaylen Hayes put a serious hurtin' on some tacklers tonight. Also, it was nice to see David Christian get some good playing time. Is that still Ron Siry on the PA? Really needs to hand the microphone over to someone else.

McCoy with one qtr of play, no starting RB's, cold, no Seidl on kickoffs, Birds up by 30+ points kick an onside kick and recover, hot chocolate was lukewarm, and my kid hit me up for a $10 spot.

From the score it looks as if the Highlands program shows their class. I was really supprised that this wasn't far worse. Congrats to the Birds and good luck the rest of the way. I hope my Lions come away a little better team.

I don't know what happened to Covington Latin's defense. But, seriously, Jaylen Hayes had 3 touchdowns and literally ran over tacklers on the way. He also ran around and away from tacklers also.

Jaylen Hayes is a very unique running back.

 

He is smallish in stature, ultra-quick and very fast. In the open field he just runs to daylight.

 

Most tacklers are breaking down and expecting him to juke them and attempt to avoid contact, and then he just powers through them. The tackler is caught off guard and can't wrap up. He delivers the blow rather than receive it. Several great runs last night.

Yes. Right after halftime. I was actually asked if I could give the PA guy a few scores from here on BGP, but I couldn't get to them on my phone fast enough. Next thing I know, their announcing the Silver Grove score. I'm thinking, "Geez guys, you could've just waited a second longer and you wouldn't have had to make them up!

I have heard PA announcers that have problems with the opposing teams players, but Highlands announcer has problems with the home teams players.

To stick to the thread, that was a beautiful touchdown pass from Houlistion to Hoge to make it a runnng clock.

Houliston @ QB is fun to watch, especially when scrambling and looking to hit his receivers down field at that point you can see his basketball skills translating to the football field. I look forward to a big year from him next year.
