I heard that his sons didn't want to move and I think that is also the case with the other assistant coaches from Rockcastle. However I am not sure about his sons. It is possible they may change their minds. Coach Saylor IMO would not leave Rockcastle but if he would it would be with Coach Larkey but I don't see him going anywhere.

Do you know for sure Perkins won't be playing this next season? That will hurt but I'm sure that someone will step up. I hope they do as good as last season at least if not better. I sure hate to see the Rock program go backwards.

I don't know a lot abouqt the situation but it seems like the first thing Coach Parkey will need to do is check out the Middle School coaches and see what the problem is. Of course if he can't look people in the eyes when he talks to them he will have a hard time instilling a lot of confidence in his team and his ability. I hope this is not the case as I would like for the Rock to be competitive. I am just repeating some things that I have heard and not sure if it is true.

:dancingpa:dancingpa I quite agree. I hardly think any team is going to be so afraid that they will lay down and give up. No one not Rockcastle, Bell, Pulaski, or even the pro should take any team for granted. I think everyone should take one game at a time and not get cocky.

:dancingpaGood luck to Coach Larkey and Harlan Co. Harlan has gotten a great coach and should have a great year. Hope everyone appreciates Cach Larkey and gives him and the team support.

I know the challenge is part of it but $$$$ has to have a big big part of it. When you get right doen to it money is what makes the world turn.

You add enough 0's after the dollar sign and you might be surprized which coach might leave. Rockcastle found that out.

He's gone per very reliable source from their banquet today but nothing was said about who would replace him. Coach Saylor is staying which will be a big plus in Rockcastle's favor. I see this as a big plus for Harlan County and hope that all Harlan Countians will support this Coach.

I heard from a very reliable source that goodbye's were said at Rockcastle Football Banquet today. Nothing was said for sure who would replace Coach Larkey but I knoaw Coach Saylor is staying which will be a plus for Rocket defense and hopefully our school superintendant and rest of the board will finally SUPPORT our football team. If Coach Larkey had had support that he should have he may not have left.

Why don't you want either Chris or Dackery to get the job? I figure they will go to Harlan With their dad but Chris especially should be o k if he should decide to apply for the job. I just hope Rockcastle gets a coach as dedicated as Coach Larkey has been in the past. I guess we can not blame him for going for the money.

I hope that Coach Larkey has great success at Harlan Co but with out his great defensive Coach Saylor it may not be as easy as everyone thinks. He does the best at that and everyone has to admit that Rocket defense is pretty tough. It will be hard for Coach Larkey to find someone with his (Saylor) experience and most of all dedication to the team. They are the two best combinations that any school could come up with. I don't think that Harlan will be able to get Coach Saylor though.
