Final score from the Gallatin Steel Tournament. Does anyone have any details?
-
South Oldham was the runner up last year. They lost to Shelby in the finals while SK lost to Shelby in the semi-finals. South Oldham has an outstanding veteran coach in Frank Wright. Look for them to go deep in the post season again this year.

Congratulations to Coach Dave Miller and his staff and team for a good win.:ylsuper:His teams always play hard and are well coached. -
No doubt about it. Steve and Tara do a great job at Scott County each and every year. Other coaches that come to mind are Chris Stallings at Bullitt East, Kerrie Stewart at Trimble County, Mark Wilhoit at Williamstown, and Jamie Walz Richey at Highlands. All of these work extremely hard year round to make their teams the best they can be.

Look for E-town to win the very tough 5th region. They have talent and are well coached. -

Somewhat shaky. I look for Owen to beat them. Owen has all the parts for a good team. -

Gallatin can name the score---Eminence has pretty much a middle school team playing varsity. -
Berea Tournament Info
Mr. Athletics replied to Lunatic1's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
I agree. The Berea Holiday Tournament is one of the best in the state. Coach Jerry Bingham and his staff do a great job hosting the event. A 32 team tournament takes a lot of work by a lot of people.:thumb: -
Front runner in the 8th?
Mr. Athletics replied to theoldcoach's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Shelby has tremendous talent and seems to bplaying the best right now. They have struggled somewhat in March. Oldham plays slow ball and relies on strong defense to win games. Forrest has a habit of padding his schedule with "A" schools. It does seem to work for them. Anderson is due for a regional title. Glen Drury has been around in the 8th region as long as anyone. It will come down to these 3 as it does most years. -
Walton Girls BBall: What's the problem?
Mr. Athletics replied to BaldGuy's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Every new coach needs time for the team to adjust to the style of coaching. Sometimes it just takes a bit longer depending on the situation. -

Was Gallatin at full strength? I heard they had some players out. -
Walton Girls BBall: What's the problem?

I don't think the coach has ever taken a shot, made a turnover, or missed a rebound in a game yet. Let's give him/her a break. -

They have the BEST band in the region IMO. Those kids get into it! They are seated directly behind the visitors' bench. Coaches usually have to take their team out to the free throw line so they can communicate during time outs.:thumb: If some school has a better band at their home games, I would like to know about it. -

I believe the Wildcats will keep on rolling against the big boys as well. They seem to have it all together. -

Summer ball doesn't mean squat. Coaches and teams don't always take it serious. -

Trimble is still winless I believe and I think they are a senior ballclub. Hopefully, they can turn it around. When I have seen them play, they really seem to work hard. They have played a tough early season schedule. -

Did Walton Verona hang with them for any period of time? How did Hargett and Heeger do?
