  1. I personally don't think the 40 times should be such a huge factor in recruiting, but I can gaurantee you that a 295lb kid under 5.0 has a big advantage.
  2. I think the down time we have in football is very important. The brutality of the sport requires it. How many of you guys have players on your team's that are unable to compete at this point due to injuries received this season? My son is a one sport athlete and the current time and effort he puts toward his sport is sufficiant as well as proven to be effective over the years.
  3. They seem to fill those holes back up pretty quick and in a hurry to me. I thought their younger quarterbacks looked pretty darn good too.
  4. I wasn't particularly talking about coaching, but you make a good point. I guess time will tell. I also didn't intend to make anyone mad. I knew my comment wouldn't be understood by women and I think I was correct in my assuption.
  5. If women were truly able to compete in football like they are in all the other areas you mentioned, maybe you would have a valid point, but they can't and they never will, and I think that's what really hurts you the most.
  6. It's not about anybody really teaching anybody anything it's about men not wanting to give up the only thing left that feels like theirs. I don't expect any woman to understand this, its just the truth.
  7. Women's pro is the only level of women's football and a very low level.
  8. I am also a veteran and I can assure you that the physical standards in all branches have been lowered for women to pass. I have no problem with women coaching but like all other things in this Country I believe that the bar is being lowered to include everyone rather than being raised to promote the best to succeed. As for women knowing football I can say that my mother is one of the most knowledgable people I know, could she teach kids the proper technique to block and tackle, or would she want to, I don't think so, but if she did I would have to support her.
  9. I for one think men should have at least one thing remain sacred only to them.
  10. I would say it's alot more important to a new staff than an established staff and system.
  11. As with any sport or athlete the players that want the most out of their abilities will find a way to achieve their goals wether it be football, baseball or whatever. An extra 2 or 3 weeks in the spring or fall is not going to make a huge difference other than a little time for evalluation.
  12. The only one that is not staying for sure is the special teams coach.
  13. We are getting a new OC from what I hear.
  14. I don't think anybody knows yet from what I can gather.
  15. He is the father of a former D1 kicker and a former kicker himself. He's coming in to try to help a little with the kicking game.
  16. WH had a great O line this year. Good luck at the next level.
  17. I agree, and I believe the key to running the ball out of the system or spread is directly related to the talent at QB how he reads for the option and how talented of a runner he is.
  18. Add discipline and you have it all covered, and there is no better plan to win than run the ball and play good defense.(stop the run)
  19. NAIA schools offer athletic scholarships and most have very high academic standards and prestige. I don't think playing football and getting some money for school along with it would ever be a waste of time.
  20. I didn't even know that what we ran was the system. I prefer being under center in short yardage situations but I can't complain about the results for the most part. I still say the talent is available to be very versatile.
