  1. 1.True-but Russell's 2 wins were extremely close games. Also from what I hear they lose 9 starters. 2. True....I will have answer's for those after the first game or two. ( Problem's should be solved .) 3. True.....Mason's talent has yet to be proven. I think people will be impressed.
  2. Mason Co. #4 !:dancingpa But all is quiet in Royal Nation and shall remain quiet until further notice. :sssh: The first game will arrive shortly and all will see.......:thumb:
  3. We didn't have a sure fire/go to guy in the early 90's.............still walked away with 3 region titles and top 5 rankings through out the state !:dancingpa But, I don't think the Royals will be that well respected after D-Miller.
  4. The program has been heading in the right direction and there is a huge fan base for the Polar Bears and in football, but to keep the younger kids interested and showing up, the program needs to start winning soon. Learning curve is over. Its time to start pulling it all together.:thumb:
  5. A cruel joke would be to allow 6A first ! Ft. Thomas would be an absolute mess.........
  6. Thanks, my feelings were starting to get a little hurt. I understand and agree.
  7. Mason, Ohio or Mason County Kentucky ? Its been a long time since the Royals were 9 games UNDER .500
  8. Mason Co. did make a few attempts at state without Maysville.......... Also, a majority of the kids on the teams in the early 90's were Mason Co. not Bulldogs. I'm not going to say that adding enrollment didn't help, but former Bulldogs weren't the only one's cutting down those nets.
  9. No major players, just a lot of overall team talent and chemistry. Mason Co. pulled off several 10th region title's with that formula in the early 90's. :sssh:
  10. Just couldn't free up the time to make it out there......... How was the game ?
  11. Add a team ! :ylsuper: The Mason Co. Royals played several teams ranked national in various polls.
  12. Mason Co. is going to fun to watch ! A young and talented ( soph ) QB taking over and some weapons in the running game. Protecting this kid is going to be key. The Royals should be able to keep defenses off balance with the Thompson in the back field.:thumb:
  13. Congrats to Mr. Hopson ! Sorry, I just don't agree with the best shooter in the state comment.
  14. 1994 Royals Chris Ullery Matt Wallingford Tim Muse Matt Neff Cain Hughes Mike Baker Mike Tumey James Ford ( pitcher left for out of state ) All starting seniors in ( all lettered at least 3 years ) 1994. :scared: notable underclassmen: Mark Major Scott Ruel John Baker Glen Hubber Wesley Wes Hope I didn't leave anyone out!
  15. 1994 and 1993 was loaded with speed and some Big Bats ! But, we lacked pitching. 1993 we went up with the eventual state champs Harrison Co. in the Region::cry: 1994 could have been even better than it turned out to be. We lost a great senior pitcher that year because he moved out of state, and lost another senior ( myself ) because of academics....I still feel bad about that. Sorry guys if you are reading this.
  16. I am happy, but just a little tired of the 11th saying that their region is tougher than the BIG DANCE. I'm fine with evening it out.:scared:
  17. Those guys getting paid to judge usually only get to watch summer ball and camps. There is some great talent at these events, but the only defense being played is on the guy with ball. The guy in playing him (man to man) spreads his arms out and pretends he is doing something. Every now and then you see a cutter flying to the basket ( uncontested of course ) for a dunk. As for the people in these threads and through out the state, we get to see first hand how these kids play and react in a " REAL GAME ".:fire:
  18. I would welcome Scott Co. into the 10th Region ! We all may loose out on a regional title or 2, but playing them a couple times a year only makes you stronger when it matter the most and thats in the State tourney. Basically, if you can't take the heat then stay out of the kitchen. Or in this case the Sweet 16.
  19. I agree and wish him the best of luck, BUT myself and the rest of the so called naysayers issue is that there may actually be a better basketball player in this state. :sssh:
  20. Personally, I think the way high school basketball is played in this state ( you know with defense, team work and pride ) We should be able to add a couple more teams to that list ! :flame:
  21. I can't wait ! 2008-09 might shape up to be like Millers soph. year ! SURPRISE !:flame:
  22. I think the people voting in this state and this web site, who has seen more than just a high light reel, should know who really is the best player......... DARIUS MILLER !:flame:
