I know they are not in the district anymore, but scheduling those teams (Corbin, Somerset and Middlesboro) along with Pulaski every year would keep those rivalries intact. Should be able to get bid crowds for those games each year. Rock brought a lot of fans over for the Pulaski game. Even with district re-alignment, Rock should be pretty good in the next few years.

Pulaski was flat for the 1st qtr against Russell County. That will not be the case against Rock. This is a chance for PC to leave no doubt that last year's win was the real deal! Maroons big, 45-18.

Russell is coming off a beat down at the hands of Somerset, 63-19. Pulaski a double OT loser at home to Henry Clay 35-28. I think Pulaski will be too much for the home-standing Lakers and win this one going away. Close early, then PC rolls late. 44-16 Maroons.

But... You obviously have not seen Bell County play this year. Bell would rank top 5 or better in 5a.

If Whitley beats Bell they deserve a top #5 ranking! Pulaski had to drop some. Too many undefeated teams out there. It will all shake out in the end.

What?!!!!GOOD CALL???!!!!! No wonder high school football officiating is at an all time low! You can't see either! IF the SW player not blasted him in the back the late hit would never have happened in the first place. My question is, what would be the call if the ref actually saw the first hit happen? Do you still say good call? The white hat even said "I didn't see it". How can that many referees miss something like that? I understand missing a call every now and then, but that excuse is ridiculous! I just can't believe officials are never held responsible for their actions.

I agree the refs missed that one, they miss them in every game. The thing is, SW still made the huge plays when they had to. Williams' catch in the endzone is one of the best you will see all year long. Maybe SW has found a new dimension to the offense.

Henry Clay will still have over 100 kids, big, fast and strong. It will big a huge hill to climb for PC.

Henry Clay is a very good team. Speed everywhere and will be massive up front. Pulaski will have to play mistake free football to have a chance in this one.

I am sure Rock will get plenty of chances to tackle Abner and Eastham. But, be careful what you wish for...

Just passing along official stats from the team off of the game film. Those 3 were all over the field Friday night. The guys on the radio even started having fun with all the tackles Mason Flynn had.

Abner played. Starting lineman, Tyler Abney did not play. Neither did starting corner Logan Warren. Abner had 3 TD catches and 1 rushing. Eastham looked just ridiculously good at times. He through 4TD passes. This kid is unreal! Mason Flynn led PC on defense with 20 tackles. 3 things really stood out in this game to me. 1. Pulaski was MUCH, MUCH faster than Harlan County. 2. Pulaski was in better condition than Harlan County. Harlan Co. had kids cramping up in the 2nd qtr. and it went on all night. 3. As Bear_Paw pointed out, the Black Bears simply gave up. I thought PC would pull this one out, but never di I think that a Tom Larkey-coached team would ever just quit. With all that said, I still think Harlan County will be a dangerous team when the playoffs roll around. As we PC fans know, these early season losses hurt the ego some but don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. District games and playoffs all that really matter. I am sure these 2 will meet up later in the year with a lot more than just a bowl trophy at steak.

Most of the injuries occurred before the Boyle scrimmage. Abner and Abney were the 2 injured in that scrimmage. Cornett and Warren both missed the Boyle scrimmage, so hopefully will be able to go tonight or next week. You going to make it tonight jericho? Always welcome to hang out and tailgate with us.

Looks like Tyler Abney, and Justin Cornett, both linemen, will be game time decisions. Corner, Logan Warren, will probably miss tonight's game with a back injury. He may try to go but as of now he is out. Alex Abner will start, but how much he will play depends on how his shoulder has healed. He has been no contact since the Boyle County scrimmage. There are a few others with dents and dings, but they should be ok for tonight. Tailgating gets underway at 5pm for anyone who wants to hang out.

Absolutely not. Harlan County is a very good football team. This could be the best game of the night in the mountains. I will have to give the edge to PC in this one though. I guess you could call it a home town advantage for the Maroons. No travel for PC where as the Black Bears have that long winding bus ride from the Cumberland area. PC in a tight one, 31-25.

This has to be the most injuries PC has had to begin a season. They have all hit at one time. It's a good thing the Maroons have the open week this week. They need every minute to get healthy for the Correll Bowl.

Looks like Abner will be able to go in the Correll Bowl. No contact this week, be able to next. Abney has sprained MCL. Looks like he will be out a few weeks. Maybe get him back for Harlan County. Cornett, I'm not sure on. He may miss more time with the knee. Other than some tweeks and bruises, PC should be ready for the Correll Bowl.

We are talking about teenagers. You never know what to expect. Can't explain it, don't know how or why, just the way it is. Luckily, they have 2 weeks to get healthy and get prepared to play football. I'm sure everything will be just fine with this team.

Cornett didn't play. He has been out with a knee injury since early in the practice season. Tyler Abney injured a knee last night. Don't know how bad he is. Saw on facebook Abner has an ac sprain. Eastham got his bell rung but finished the scrimmage. It's the walking wounded at PC right now. Good thing they have a week off to get prepared for the Correll Bowl, they need every minute. As for the scrimmage, from a fans point of view, they looked beat when they stepped off the bus. Seemed to be a lazy effort and just going through the motions. That's the good thing about a scrimmage, it lets you know where you stand and what you need to do to get better. I have a feeling practice will not be pleasant next week.
