  1. I think GC has a better chance than what most think. GC runs a similar offense as Johnson Central and Mason Co. never figured out how to stop them when they were in the same district. The offense isn't what it may seem. People think it's a ball control offense but there are just as many big plays in this offense as any. Im not going to compare GC with JC other than they are similar. If it's a shoot out I think GC stands a better chance and I think it will be because I don't think either team will be able to stop the other.
  2. I don't want to BASH Coach Cobb and I know it sounds that way. He had a good run there but that team and that community don't owe him anything. The fact is that he walked out and left those kids. I am one that believes high school sports are about the kids! A Coach owes it to his kids to be there no matter what the circumstances. If a Coach truely loves his kids then he will Coach them through the thick and thin. Coach Cobb no matter what the reason should not have left his kids when he did. He left them high and dry. I agree with you that Coach Lucas should be the head coach. All I am saying is that no one owes anything to Coach Cobb. He walked out on a group a kids and coaches that are doing without him.
  3. I am sorry to tell you this but no Coach or Player owes anything to Coach Cobb. Correct me if I'm wrong but Coach Cobb walked out on these kids days before the season started. Coach Cobb quit on those kids and that community and that isn't right. Coach Cobb walked out on his kids and his coaching staff. All the credit goes to the kids and their coach's! You don't walk out on kids and a community and expect them to owe a former Coach who quit the program. Congrats to the kids and the Coaching staff at Somerset! They owe it to their selves and not a former Coach who walked out on them.
  4. This a huge win for the Tomcats tonight and it sounds like they are playing good ball right now. My only concern is that Ashland fans are talking about Highlands and the playoffs before district play has even began. Ashland is a talented team that has the ability to win this district but let's not forget about Woodford and Johnson Central! Woodford is talented and Johnson Central has had Ashlands number the past few years. The Tomcats are good but they or no one else is good enough to look over anyone in this district.
  5. The Vikings were tough tonight. Both teams took it to each other pretty well. No arguments on who is the most improved team around the area is. Rowan is turning the corner and will make some noise come playoff time
  6. Congrats to Garrard. I really thought the Vikings would win this one. Coach Brown has this team moving in the right direction and they will improve
  7. Great game Vikings. Thats the team we have been waiting to see
  8. This was a defensive battle to say the least. Neither team hit the ball well. Rowan had two hits and East had five. Both teams left a lot of runners on base. Duff pitched well for the Vikings in his 1st start. 6 in. 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned, 5 K's. Going to be an interesting season
  9. Boyle Co. opens with Johnson Central at home in Weak 0
  10. Someone answer me this, how can any Coach in the 16th region not vote for Rowan's Martin to be MVP? Martin scored over 50 pts. in three games against a lot better teams and was without a doubt the best player on the court tonight. Griffith is a good player and if her team would have won than I wouldn't have a question. If anyone watched the whole tournament as I did than they can't deny the fact that Katie Martin was the real MVP of this tournament. Katie got drilled by those Coaches who are jealous of her team and of Coach Tackett. Katie Martin played a hell of a tournament and I am sure that she wouldn't trade a trip to Diddle for any MVP award.
  11. Thanks for proving me right. Has Ashland ever lost to anyone in any sport, club, or academic team. Like I have said many times, no one and I mean no one actually beats Ashland. It's always something! Refs, injuries, or coaching moves. Why can't people just face it and admit defeat! The Lady Vikings simply out played Ashland tonight and anyone who was there knows it. The Kittens were whipped in every aspect of the game. Why not just go ahead and admit it. I will say that even though Riddle owned Conner tonight that girl could be as good as she wants to be. Not many girls her age have the hands and footwork she has. Her potential is unlimited and unless someone comes out of the dark she should be the region player of the year next season.
  12. The Lady Vikings took it to the Kittens tonight. The Kittens couldn't match the Lady Vikings intensity and it showed. I really thought Ashland looked lethargic in this game. I mean it’s the semi-finals and Ashland looked like they were asleep. I really expected more out of them but the Lady Vikings owned the Kittens. Jennifer Brockman made life tough on Ashland’s guards. Brockman locked down those girls and they little chance even getting into their offense. How about Amber Riddle tonight? She dominated the much taller Conner and Hanners! Amber played like a Champion underneath tonight and Ashland had no answer. Looks like the Lady Vikings are well on their way to REPEAT!!! One more win Girls and you are there. Don’t wait for it though, go out there tomorrow and take it!! Good luck !!!
  13. Just wondering what teams will be able to start outside tomorrow. Looks to be a good day. 45 and partly sunny. :dancingpa
