Tourney is over but GRC still has a tourney to Rupp to play. I will say that the biggest supprise this year was Taylor Howard. Playing at the Y last year and now bombing 3's and getting to play at Rupp. A real dream come true for this young man.

 

The heart of this team is unreal. I was watching the team warm up in the finals and you could tell that they wanted it so bad. They have been on a mission all year and kept focused. During the post season we won by margins of:

 

District;

 

Boubon 36

Montgomery Co 17

 

Regional:

 

Augusta 23

Campbell Co 16

Mason Co 22

 

This is not the most talented team that GRC has had, but thier heart is unmeasurable.

 

This is the best chemistry team that I have seen the Cardinals have in quite some time. Not the most talented, but you can tell these kids like one another and share the ball. That was the most I was impressed with over the last couple of weeks of watching them. I will take chemistry(great) over most talented teams because then you get everyone involved and throw out the individualism.

Agree, these kids all get along so well. They don't care who scores, just as long as they win. Don't know if you noticed, but I did, when the subs where in at the end of the game, the starters were really cheering and wanting them to score. This team is such fun to watch.

Bopper told me before the season started, ----, we're going to be better than people are expecting. I think we can get as much done as last years team. His thinking and desire was there from the beginning and this team has been so much fun to watch. Love em.

I must admit after watching both semifinal games, it was hard to imagine GRC beating Duke,errr Mason County. However, a very impressive regional final win. I expect GRC to represent the 10th well at Rupp.

 

Congrats to the coaching staff, players and fans for an impressive tournament run thus far and for beating Duke - I did t again, Mason County. Good luck at state!
